i have create data recovery in my hp envy m6 through portable dvd writer but after the created of recovery now when i try to install image recovery its not working what i should do now?
View 9 RepliesI have an HP ENVY dv7 Notebook. When the computer was new I tried to make a recovery disc set. When finished I would check the discs ( DVD - R ) I would get a message saying the discs did not write correctly. Tried discs from three different packs, still the same. Called HP Support and they went through the procedure with me, still the same fail. I was told me not to worry if I ever had to have the discs because of a crash they would send them to me for free as they have a record. Now I will be using this computer mainly on the internet and think I should have the discs just in case. Called HP and was told no record, no free discs and it will cost a lot to make the discs. Is there any way to make discs or put the info on a hard drive? I do not know if the computer thinks I made a copy or not since the copies I thought I was making were defective.

View 4 Replies View RelatedSince the newer models from HP comes with windows 8, a friend of mine wanted me to install windows 7 instaid. Said and done. Almost. When I was done and the OS was configuring it stated that the hardware is not compatible with this version of windows.Since I use my computer, I don't like the original windows you get from the branded computers, all the programs that are forced on to you are a pain. Therefor, as usual, I removed every single trace of the original. Including the recovery disc.
How in the world of the living am I suppose to fix her computer, that now serves as nothing else than a bookstand? Apparently you no longer get a product key on a sticker on the back of your computer anymore.
I was going to install w7 with a legit key, no piracy.
When i'm turn on my HP envy 4-1257er after the sudden shutdown on the screen displays the HP logo that says "please wait". After a few seconds appears the "blue screen with a sad smiley" and further reads:
"Recovery. Your PC needs to be repaired. The boot configuration data file is missing some required information. File: BCD. Error code: 00xc0000034. You need to use the recovery tools on your installation media. Is your don't have any installation media (like a disc or USB device), contact your system administrator or PC manufacturer. Press ESC for UEFI firmware settings. "
After pressing the ESC button opens a Startup Menu with a choose an actions like: f1 - system information (worked), f2 - system diagnostic (worked), f9 - boot device options (doesn't work) , f10 - BIOS setup (doesn't work), f11 - system recovery (doesn't work). When I click on these buttons (f9, f10, f11) again loaded a blue screen with an error. On the usb-drives with images does not respond in any way.
I have an old HP TC 4200 netbook. I want to recover data from it. So I'd like to know the details of the casing required for the hard disc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was making a Windows 7 recovery disc set, usning the Lenovo Thinkvantage tools, and one of the first pop up windows that came up said "Note: DVD RAM is not supported for Disc 1 of the Product Recovery disc set". Does this meen that I cannot use a DVDs for a Recovery discs? That is all I have.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently run into a problem, when I wanted to install my ANNO 1404 game, I inserted the disc into my laptop, but it shows no data, it simply looks to be empty. So I tried it in my desktop PC and there there is everything OK, disc is full, game can be installed. I left it be and after few days I wanted to see a movie, but after inserting the movie DVD into my laptop, I received this error in WMP: "Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. In some cases, you can resolve the problem by updating the device driver for your video card." So I'm starting to think my DVD driver is somehow "wrongly set" or something like that. What can I do about it?
My OS is W7 Professional (on desktop too, so OS is not the issue), my laptop is Inspiron 15R SE 7520. Both DVDs (game and movie) are original, no stealing here.
Apple care hk is very good.i just lost my whole recovery disc and i life 09 disc and also the receipt.i just call apple care.they said they will send me the whole disc free of charge.

Yesterday, I sectioned my active hard drive so that I could have, in effect, 2 hard drives. I am using the disc provided by Lenovo but cannot seem get the disc to start the process. I think I set the DVD as the first boot device but it goes right past it and into the normal start up process.
Is there a way to start the process besides from boot up?

I went to Start>Recovery Manager>Recovery Disc Creation and was greeted with the screen. After pressing next, I immediately receive the 'cancel' screen telling me "Cancellation in progress... Recovery disc creation will resume where you left off the next time you start the program", but it doesn't.

As we all know, Acer no longer supply recovery discs. The company I got it from offered to sell me one! which I thought was a cheek but I see the sense in having one. how to create one.
I just ordered the Sony Vaio FW series. The agent said the notebook don't come with any Windows Vista Home Premium x64 DVD's as back up and i need to burn the recovery disc from the OS once i receive the laptop.
1. Is this the standard practice of shipment.
2. If i am to create recovery disc from the laptop, and then at a later time format and do an install from the recovery back up disk's, does the recovery install the old factory shipped drivers & software by default. If so is there a way to get rid of this.
3. What do i do if i want to do a clean install of the OS with the new drivers from net.
I just last week bought an Hp G60-230US at Office Depot. Had them install Microsoft Office and clean up my computer. When I got home and tried to make a recovery disc, I keep getting a message that says "this computer does not have a drive capable of creating cd's or dvd's. Contact HP" I did this, and they tried to tell me it was the type of dvd I was trying to use (Maxell). I know Hp's can be touchy, but I don't think the type of disc would give me that type of error. Hp said they could send me a copy of the recovery discs. But my concern is with that message. Am I doing something wrong, or is my computer messed up? Any thoughts would be appreciated. I plan on calling Hp tonight, and possibly calling Office Depot to see if they did something bad to my computer when they "cleaned it up".

View 4 Replies View RelatedI`ve just received my new notebook and I had already bought the SSD drive I would like to use with it.In the first moment I thought it would as easy as described hereURL.... but my notebook has the windows 8 and the OKR 8.0 and I can't find the option to create recovery discs.
I found out that I can make a recovery media, a pen drive with at least 16Gb, to recovery the system. I would like to make the same with DVDs. create the recovery discs or to reinstall the windows 8 from scratch with the same license key (not even sure if I have one) the one preinstalled in my notebook?
I Have an acer aspire 5100 but when to format hard drive and do full recovery but nothing went on the disc does any one have a copy of the recovery disc to help me out
