View 2 RepliesI am using a PC Pavilion G6 on Windows 8 and I am having troubles with playing sound. I use Youtube regularly to watch vidoes, and when I press play, it takes about 20 seconds for the sound to work. I thought it could possibly be Youtube, but I'm experiencing the same issue on other sites.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Dell Inspiron N5110. After two years, my laptop starts to have reduced performance in gaming and watching streaming videos. I did a factory reset. Everything seems fine.
I did a test by installing Warcraft 3 which I played with no lag at all. After that, I started to install/ update the Graphic drivers, Windows updates and installed Starcraft 2.
Then I played Warcraft 3 to test the performance and it lags like for every 2 seconds in game.
Please note that I test my system by playing WC3 after installing the following individual items:
Item 1: Graphics driver
Item 2: Windows updates
Item 3: Starcraft 2
Please note that I did three (3) factory resets.
This means I install WC3 and played and there is no lags. When i do Item 1, WC3 lags.
This means I install WC3 and played and there is no lags. When i do Item 2, WC3 lags.
This means I install WC3 and played and there is no lags. When i do Item 3, WC3 lags.
Please note that I did a hardware diagnostic test and I pass all the tests.
I also did played around with:
1) Power Settings
2) Nvidia Control Settings and used the my graphic card instead of integrated video card.
But I am still facing the lag.
At the moment, I am using my laptop at the factory settings and not installing any drivers or updates.
I bought new HP Pavilion 17-f001sm Notebook PC (Windows 8.1 x64), it worked perfectly for 3 days, and 4th day it crashed randomly while i was watching some video, from then it constantly crashes.
Sometimes its black or blue screen, sometimes it just freezes or restars itself, and once i got ''KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOTHANDLED'' message. Also my Dics usage was 80%-100% until i deleted McAfee.
All drivers are ''up to date'', have 2 coolers under it so it constantly low temperature, McAfee didn't registered any viruses, even tried to reboot it but it continued to crash.
When friends send videos I cannot always watch them as the screen turns green. The sound continues to play but there are no visuals.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to watch a video that's 1080p and it skips frames. My framerate will stay around 30ish but then every couple of minutes or so will dip down to 7. I would think my specs would be fine... any suggestions? For what it's worth, it's a matroska (.mkv) file and I am trying to run it in VLC media player.

View 3 Replies View Relatedcurrent MacBook unibody owners. I'm curious how good is the MacBook when watching DVDs or playing downloaded videos; such as the screen quality and battery life? Does the 1280x800 screen size seem too big?
I'm a Mac & Windows user and love both environments. Yet, I'm unsure if the MacBook will work for me.
I have a Dell Inspiron E1705 with the WUXGA screen. I also have this adapter.
has an HD Cable box, but no HDTV. Is it possible for me to hook up my laptop to her cable box using this adapter so I can watch programming in HD? Im sure I cant because the HD signal is different, correct? If I cant use this adapter, is there another adapter that will allow me to do this?
Does anyone have any issues watching DVDs? I have a few DVDs I made from a Panasonic DVD/VCR (transferred from a VHS to DVD) and it will randomly say skipping over damaged area while playing on my MB using the standard DVD Player software. The same burned DVDs work fine on Panasonic and my roomates DVD player. Would it be better if I tried using VLC or some other program?

Both the PC and the TV have HDMI, and I am running Windows 7 wirelessly. Would this be a simple hook-up of hdmi to hdmi, or do I need to get adapters and or cards to make things work?

What is going on with this acer software? Used to be able to watch blu-rays on something called acermedia. Did an upgrade to something with a ridiculous name - BYOC, and now the abmedia solution doesn't allow viewing of discs. Is this correct, or has something gone wrong with update?

View 6 Replies View Relatedi have an HDX16t w/ bluray drive and i would usually watch blurays thru it. i would connect the laptop to my 42" 1080p LCD and watch. the first few times i did this, everything was fine. the sound and picture were going thru w/ no problems. i also just use the HP Media Center player when i watch so i can use the remote (which actually doesnt work great...not all the buttons work...but that's another story...)
now the other night, i went to put in another bluray and watch it using the HP Media Center but as it loaded the disc, i get a message saying that i "cannot play the movie in the current resolution". i was thinking this might be an HDCP issue but how can that be if it worked before? so i put in a bluray i had previously watched w/ this method and the same message popped up. i tried rebooting the laptop and also unplugging the TV to maybe "reset" the HDMI port. still got the same message when trying to play.
It doesn't look too great!

My computer will (most of the time when a browser is open, it seems to happen most frequently when I'm watching a video) begin making clicking and beeping sounds. I'm able to switch tabs and sound will play from the videos for about 20 seconds. After that the screen will freeze (I won't be able to switch tabs or close anything). I usually try to open task manager, but even that isn't an option. After waiting for my computer to shake itself out of this state, I hard shut down and then reboot. The computer has only "shaken" out of this state 2-3 times in 30 total occurrences.
View 1 Replies View RelatedInspiron 17R N7110 has no power, I was watching movie and the laptop just froze, after waiting a few minutes I performed a hard power reset, machine was restarting, abruptly shut off and has been dead since.
Tried the power reset by removing the battery and holding the power button for the static discharge ... and so on. No luck. Machine has no lights on front, it is completely dead, battery was 100% charged. Tried two charger cables, both have green lights till I plug them into the machine then green lamps die.
I think it would be the DC power connector or the motherboard... or something else that I have not thought of yet.
Trying to decide between the Studio XPS 16, and the M4500.
Not sure about the dimensions of the M4500, they look good on paper but bulky in picutres.
so a replacement 14z that they sent me no longer can go down to .875v, but only to .9250.
I've tried changing between 32 and 64 bit, between vista and windows 7, and it even between different drivers.
I'm beginning to think that it's the cpu itself, because everything inside should be basically the same.
