I recently changed my window from 8 to 7 ultimate and i noticed my grahics adapter has changed from AMD radeon 8650G to standard VGA graphics adapter. Why is that and how do i change it?
I have a HP Pavilion dv7-6c73ca Entertainment Notebook PC 2.2 GHz 2nd generation Intel Core i7-2670QM Processor with Turbo Boost up to 3.1 GHz.. Running Microsoft Windows 7 home edition 64 bit.
The Standard VGA Graphics Adapter gives me this error message: This device cannot start. (Code 10)
Where can I find the driver for it?
i cant find drive for my graphic card its only showing standard vga graphis adapter ...i have hp g2 250 f0y78ea .. runing windows 7 and al animations are really laggy

Now, I was looking at the 65w replacements on eBay and the like, but everything seems to have a round plug now, as opposed to an octagonal one.
I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 and my friend has a Latitude D820.
Tonight she accidentally plugged my power adapter into her laptop. A few hours later, she noticed that her laptop indicated that it wasn't plugged in, and that's when we realized that she had accidentally used my adapter instead of hers.
Now my adapter doesn't work at all. We've tried the adapter with both our laptops with different outlets with the same problem, so we know it's the adapter. The green light also doesn't come on when it's plugged in anymore.
Did plugging my adapter into her laptop somehow screw up my adapter, or could this just be a coincidence? Is there any way to fix the adapter or at least figure out what the problem is? And if I have to purchase a new adapter, do the universal ones they sell at retail electronics stores work OK? I would order one from Dell but I'm working on a project now and I don't have time to wait for it to ship.
My note book brightness controls are not working ever since I've upgraded my machine to windows 8.1

I started using my laptop on a slightly darker room in the last few days and now its giving me headaches since I cannot reduce the brightness.
I am running Win 8.1 x64 (up-to-date) on HP Pavilion 1322TX laptop. There are Intel HD Graphics 3000 and ATM Radeon HD 7450M two graphic cards as the device manager window. Recently I am getting blue screens and later message appear saying the ATM driver stopped working. I found many problems with this driver in the past as well. When I check the relevent page for my laptop model, there is no update since 2012..
Can I update these two drivers seperately by getting updates from Intel and AMD sites?
Is there any update for catalyst control system (CCC) ?
When I try to update through the CCC or HP Support Assist, it is always no updates..
I just opened up my HP Pavilion Touchsmart 15 Sleekbook and I want to connect a 2nd monitor to stretch my desktop. I have a Dell monitor that I've been using for a year or so with a VGA connection. On my new Touchsmart there is no standard vga port.
In what ways can I connect it?

I would like to change it's preinstalled Linux with a Windows 7 version. But I don't know which exact versions of Windows 7 this particular model is compatible with, because I failed to install the AMD graphics adapter driver from the support DVD disk on a Windows 7 64bit. Do I miss something ? Need I, for example, make any changes in the BIOS ?
I have found same drivers to download, but none of them was successfull for my laptop.
I cant find and install driver for display adapter. I see on device manager that without "ATI radeon 5400 seri" ....

After trying multiple times (both automatically and manually) to install the Nvidia drivers it shows an error saying "you must install an Intel driver first". I realize this is the HP forum, but i've tried contacting Intel with no luck on top of trying every Intel driver that looks even remotely relevant. (most of which error while installing mentioning my computer lacks the requirements for the install).
I've tried updating the drivers automatically through windows on top of disable/uninstall and restart, but the same problem keeps arising.
I just ordered an M4400 from the outlet, and in the Accessories page during the order there was no option to buy a DisplayPort to XXX Adapter for $15 like there is when you are buying a new one...
I figured it wouldn't be a big deal to find one after the fact, but now that I'm looking the only DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter Dell has to order is $59.99 !! Any ideas one where to get one closer to $15?
I finally got my Acer 8935G, and right away, wiped the hard drive clean of all the crap that comes on notebooks. In this process, I removed the "recover" partition... didn't think much of it at the time until I realized they didn't include a single CD with drivers or OS. Oh well, thats not the issue.
I loaded the computer up with the RC version of Windows 7 - and everything seems to be working great, except, the LCD is using the built in Express Intel 45 Display Chipset, and no the ATI Radeon 4670.
I have both devises listed in my Hardware Manage, and under display properties, but I am unable to set the screen to use the proper display adapter...
My other issue is - acer doesn't even have this model listed on their website as it is so new - they don't have any place to download drivers and neither does anywhere on the internet.
I am working on a 5100 Aspire. The display is garbled and I can't do anything with it. It has Media Center edition XP. I need a recovery disk to recover the driver for the display driver.

Sometimes it works and I can continue working.other times I get a screen full of vertical lines and have to reboot. The computer will also not bout or run on battery power. If it's on and I unplug the a.c. adapter it well shut off. How to solve my envy dv7 issues? If I poweroff laptop while adapter connected and power on it again, the lights on keyborad just blinks and it shuts down. If I remove adapter and turn it on then it works fine.If I connect adapter while laptop is powered off then it charges the battery as usual .
