I recently bought a lenovo Y510P and did a clean windows 7 64-bit installation. Yesterday I reset my BIOS Setting to the default settings and now it doesnt reconise any of my hard drives or usbs anymore. The only thing I can boot from are (I think) the network cards?..

What I am trying to achieve is the following:
- Enable F keys as default setting
- Disable application switching of toolbar
We will need to do this on a large number of laptops, and it's not really viable to do it via the application (as it will be time consuming). I hope to deploy the settings as a batch file which imports a registry entry.
The other day I tried gaming while on battery and got terrible frame rates. I had the power settings on Maximum Performance. Are there other settings I am missing?

Its operating system is Windows XP Professional. I have tried to use the "Access IBM" and the "F11" buttons to see if I can find any Factory Restore option, but there is none.

Steps I have taken:
1.Disabled Virtualization in BIOS
Result: Speccy and hwinfo64, 3rd party utilities show VT-x is available but disabled
2.Enabled Virtualization in BIOS
Result: Speccy and hwinfo64, 3rd Party utilities show VT-x is not available
3. Repeated above steps after updating BIOS
Result: Same problems

I am unable to enter Bios settings on z580 with windows 8.1. I have tried everything including holding shift with shutdown and accsesing bios within windows, nothing seems to work and windows just strarts up normally. I also can't find a update to fix this problem.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just flashed BIOS on my thinkpad yoga 20CD00B1US. I got the lates BIOS 1.18/1,09 and sice this flash, I cannot make any changes in BIOS. I can list in BIOS but cannot highlite and change any setting expect quick boot Enabled/Disabled
My even manager is reporting me this warrining: : The embedded controller (EC) returned data when none was requested. The BIOS might be trying to access the EC without synchronizing with the operating system. This data will be ignored. No further action is necessary; however, you should check with your computer manufacturer for an upgraded BIOS.
I do have set up supervisor password for BIOS, password on power on. When going in BIOS, I am not asked to put password in, which could be the issue.
I get the error in the Title after i tried to flash the latest BIOS update for the Z510. I can press ok and then get into the boot manager but i cant choose anything there. Also I cant boot from a Disk with e.g. XP on it.
I also tried the Inside BIOS crisis mode (fn+r) with the BIOS file on my USB drive but it doesn't work and tries to access the file on the USB drive but boots normally instead to the error again. (Couldn't try it with removed battery as I have to remove the whole back to remove the battery on the Z510).
i have a brand new 2 months old studio 1555. but the problem is that when ever i connect a charger the screen brightness automatically levels up and when ever i restart there after the bios settings revert back to multimedia keys first. having a bois A07.

So is there any easy way in resetting the 1810tz drive C: to default state like out of the box state? There is a hidden partition 12Gb in size, is that a backup Windows 7 installation partition I can access while booting or so? And if yes, will it delete all data stored on the HDD just like clean installation?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI just got a new Lenovo U430 touch. Major problem: I only get limited wireless. I should note that it hasn't connected wirelessly once. It does connect fine via LAN ( I kept the cables!). I tried calling Lenovo but they said it must be my router and I should contact my internet provider (which I don't understand since the internet provider has nothing to do with the router.)
The laptop does connect wireless for about 5 seconds (I once managed to open an email before the connection slipped). Then it shows the yellow exclamation point in front of the wireless icon on the right-bottom screen. If I troubleshoot, it fixes the default gateway. Repeat. Sometimes it says that the "default gateway is not available."
Things I have tried per other similar questions asked online: unistalled McAfee, including with the removal toolpower cylcing my router, laptop, and cable modemuninstalling the wireless driver and restarting the laptop Some notes: the system came with Windows 8.1I have two other devices wirelessly connected to the same router with no problem. I'm sitting about 8 feet from the router.the only programs I've downloaded are Firefox and then finally Kaspersky (since I uninstalled McAfee) I'm pretty good with computers, but this seems beyond me. It's a new laptop and it should work, darn it!
My lenovo Y510P used to always be at 100% but I have realized it has been decreasing by 1 every day. I have it on Maximum Battery Life with the Energy Management application.
It is currently at 85% and I would have posted this sooner if I had payed attention. I changed it to Optimized Battery Health and it is now dropping, currently at 75%.
I always leave the laptop plugged in because I usually play games on it such as battlefield, dayZ, counter strike, etc.
I've been playing Battlefield 3 for some time on Auto settings (most of them are Ultra) and my FPS were always in the range 65-85. Yesterday morning everything was fine, however at night when I opened the game again I had 10-15 FPS. I haven't changed anything in my laptop settings so I don't know why this is happening.
P.S: I only have 1 GPU (not the SLI version) so I know it's not a loss of power. But my battery settings are set to "Optimized battery health". Does it affect performance ?
I've got Y510p with USB 2.0 not working. By the time it malfunctioned it was under warranty and I sent it in the service center. They have claimed that it has been repaired (USB board has been changed) but it is still not working and my warranty ended like 3 days after I sent it back. Since then (1 month ago) I am returning it to the service center for 3 times (last one was today) and I feel they can't fix it. URL....

I bought Lenovo Y510P . and because of just hyper-v feature on win 8.1 pro also i need to upgrade windows. I found product key with a software and after that i open the "add feature to windows 8.1" . And when I choose "i already have product key" and put the product key , it does not accept . and says "this key won't work" .

But the usable momery is only 3.08gb, i am very confused and don't know what is the problem. Is it because the mainboard doesn't support 8g memory?

I have an Aspire 2920 laptop with Windows Vista Home Edition O.S. It starts and works fine except that after I was using it with an external monitor (a flat screen tv) on the option to use external monitor, it only now starts thinking the monitor is the flat screen tv and does not recognizes the normal laptop screen. The laptop screen is now "pixeled" and only shows like 2/3 of its total width. I've checked in Control Panel and it has the flat screen registered as the "normal" monitor, but I can not way a find to tell the computer that the monitor is the same as usual and not the flat screen tv.
View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I recieved my Y510p about 8 months ago, the usb ports worked perfectly fine. Around October they stopped working properly. The only solution which I found to work was doing a system restore. When I did this, an Unrecognized Device in the Device Manager was no longer unrecognized, and was instead replaced by USB xHCL (or something along those lines). However, as soon as i restared my computer again, the ports broke, and the unrecognized device reappeared. Repeating the restore followed by a restart breaks the ports every time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Y510p has been freezing on startup, every startup. It can be completely inoperable for upwards of half an hour before unfreezing. It unfortunately has been occuring since the computer arrived (21 March, this year), so I doubt it has been caused by any software I've added. Given my limited knowledge of computers.

I have a new y510p I just received this week. First thing I did was replace the 1TB HD with my own OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD Drive.When I power on the laptop for the first time, it does not find a bootable device (goes through network devices, then says no bootable devices). If I use ctrl-alt-delete to reboot the laptop, it then finds the drive on its own and starts booting into Windows.
I'd like to understand why this does not work on the first boot? I went into the BIOS and saw it says there that no drives are detected.This worries me slightly, as perhaps one day it will decide to no longer recognize the drive after the ctrl-alt-delete?
Is there any way i can clone the stock hdd on my y510p to an ssd without losing one key recovery?

When I open up the task manager its says my memory is at 70%-100% WHILE IDLE but the programs are only using like 25%-40% memory so something is hidden. Just looking for a fix or allocating more memory to Windows. I have an 8Gb system.
