Lenovo ThinkPad L R/SL :: R61 Install New Wireless Card?

Jan 12, 2013

I bought a Intel Wireless Wifi Link 4965AGN Pci-express card because my laptop didn't had a WIFI card.

Now i would like to connect the cable but I'm not exactly sure of the connection.
I read the instruction on the Lenovo site, which indicated to connect grey cable to MAIN or TR1, black cable to AUX or TR2 and white cable to R0.

But on the Intel card, it is only indicated 1, 2 or 3. I look on Intel site but didn't find the exact information.

Lenovo ThinkPad L R/SL :: Wireless Adapter For SL510?

Oct 8, 2009

My laptop was able to access the internet via my wireless internet connection just fine until a few days ago when it completely stopped working.  I can't even view the wireless adapter in my hardware profile anymore.  I'm able to connect wired but not wirelessly.  I've reinstalled access points, but it didn't work.  Nothing has changed in my setup to cause this to stop working.

Lenovo ThinkPad L R/SL :: R500 - Wireless Driver Not Found

Apr 2, 2014

I have recently run the Thinkpad Rescue and Recovery to freshen up my laptop and start with a new Windows XP.

I have also run through System Update and have got all the latest drivers and software updates.

Following to this, I noticed that my Wireless isn't wokring and was not even detected. For this, I have downloaded all of the following available:

Wireless LAN drivers for ThinkPad R500 - 2732 - 6EG - Windows XP Professional:
Intel Wireless LAN (bg, abg, abgn) for Windows XP - ThinkPad - v15.03.2000
ThinkPad 11b/g/n Wireless LAN Mini-PCI Express Adapter II for Windows XP - ThinkPad - v1.00.0029.8Wireless LAN ThinkPad (11bg, 11abg, 11abgn) for Windows XP, 2000 - ThinkPad - 7.6.1.260b

But my Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility says that the "driver is not installed" even after rebooting.

I also check the Device Manager and noticed that under the Network Adapters the following only shows: 1394 Net AdapterBroadcam NetLink (TM) Gigabit Ethernet  What could be the issue?

Also note that my wireless was working properly before going through the rescue and recovery.

Lenovo ThinkPad L R/SL :: Wireless Cannot Be Activated - SL510 With Windows 7

Jun 9, 2010

Thinkpad SL510 operated with windows 7.

Whatever I try, I am not able to activate the WLAN card. When I diagnose the network connection it says somethink like "the device is not activated or not installed". However, the device is listed properly as "Intel WiFi Link 100 BGN" in the device manager. All windows updates are installed, and the Lenovo update manager only shows one optional update (Intel Chipset driver for Windows 7) which gives an error when trying to install it.

One strange thing is that, when I use the "ping 127.0.0.1" command in the command shell, only 1-2 out of the 4 tries give a result, the other ones show a timeout error.

What is more, the device works properly with an Linux Live disk, so the hardware seems to be ok. It is just not working with windows 7.

Lenovo X Series ThinkPad :: X200s Flacky Wireless Latch

Nov 6, 2008

My new X200s has a flacky wireless latch.

Sometimes windows gives the message that all wireless radios are now off. So as if I've switched the hardware switch. But I didn't touch anything.

I think it is hardware related because sometimes I can just yently touch the switch and windows will be telling me that the radios are on again. It is not so much of a problem, but it happens every few hours and fixing it would be nice.

I've removed the keyboard and the palmrest, but the cardbus (?) is still preventing me from having a closer look. Don't know if I can get any closer without removing the entire mainboard. Because that would be a bit too much.

Lenovo X / Helix Tablet :: X200T Wireless Card Disappeared

Jun 12, 2011

A few days ago I lost the internet at home. I can connect fine with an ethernet cable, and another computer in the house runs fine off of wifi, so the only problem is my WIFI.

The WIFI or WLAN doesn't show up under Network adapters nor Other Devices in Device Manager. I would have tried a system restore but it happened before the last restore point

In the BIOS, it says the WLAN is switched on

The wireless switch on the side on the laptop is ON

Under Network and Sharing centre, I click Change Adapter Settings, and there is no Icon for the WLAN.  Only a LAN connection.

My WIFI card has completely disappeared.

Lenovo X Series ThinkPad :: Install Windows 8 From USB On X1 Carbon

Sep 25, 2014

I am trying to install windows 8 from the 3 disks that came with the X1 Carbon. There is no DVD drive and we have no external disk drive, so I need to create a bootable USB for this. The laptop came with windows 7 on it.

It is easy to use DISKPART to ready the USB as a bootable device, but how to I take the data from the 3 DVDs and put it onto the USB so that it works? The first one only has drivers but the OS install is split onto two disks. I referred to a KB article but it was talking about autorun files that are not present on these DVDs.

The DVDs I have are labeled as

(1) Applications and Drivers Recovery Disk,
(2) OS Recovery Disk Windows 8 Pro [Disk 1 of 2], and (2) OS Recovery Disk Windows 8 Pro [Disk 2 of 2].

Are there some bois settings to allow booting from SD Card slot, so it will be included in boot device list? The same system boot from USB, but USB consume one USB port, so the SD Card is more preferable option.

Lenovo T400 / T500 :: ThinkPad T530 No Graphic Drivers - Can't Install

Oct 4, 2014

I was having issues with the Intel HD4000 drivers (right-click issue and VGA out not working properly). I tried to install the latest drivers downloaded from Lenovo's site - two attempts unsuccessfully. It would seem to be installing, but ended up taking quite a while to finally timeout in error. Just stated and error occurred and it could not install.

So, I decided to uninstall the drivers in the Windows 7 device manager. This left me with Standard VGA drivers under displays. Tried to install the Lenovo drivers again - no dice. It seems to attempt to for a while, then would just time out and stated there was an error (same as before).

So, I'm stuck at the Standard VGA drivers and seemingly no good way to get the proper drivers re-installed. I've even gone through the Lenovo System Update software and tried there - did not work and timed out there as well.

I know a system restore would remedy it, but I've got business software and things I'd have to reinstall and would prefer not to if I did not have to.

Seems I should be able to install some kind of drivers here, but no dice.

Lenovo X220 X Series ThinkPad :: Microphone Quite After Fresh Windows 8 Install?

Mar 30, 2013

I just did a system restore of windows 8 (clean wipe) and went through the process of reinstalling all the drivers.  I installed the latest version SmartAudio (8.32.43.0).  In Google hang out it said the microphone wasn't working, then I clicked on the settings and made the internal mic the default, I got good mic for 1 second.  Did it again and the same thing.  But this is only for a single second.  In skype I tried the same thing and it is just super quite, it doesn't register on the scale unless I blow directly into the mic (so I know it's picking something up).  Last week I had my upgraded from win 7 Windows 8 install working just fine with the microphone (zero problems ever before with this thing).  I checked in mic properties and DB and volume are set to max. So what is it about the fresh install that is making the mic all cracked out? (I checked the SmartAudio settings too) I'm having issues with my Bluetooth mouse too(disconnects at restart and have to reinstall) and Power Manager (it doesn't show up as a toolbar anymore).  P.S.. I've gone to the X220 site and downloaded the latest drivers and installed system update.
