I have bought a y510p 755m SLI with intel 4700MQ and it's performance is great, but after 20min it just drops the speed from 3.3mbps to like 2kbps, I tried ALL drivers and none solved the problem (even the windows one). I have to turn airplane mode on and off in order to reconnect. If i disable wireless N it does not disconnect but I lose too much speed (around 1.2mbps) and I really don't want that.
View 9 RepliesI have a Lenovo y510p and have a really annoying problem with it's USB 3 ports. Everytime I try to connect a smartphone(android) it will initially detect it but just seconds after it just disconnects it and then connects it back again, it just a never ending cycle. As a result I can't copy files. The ports work well with other flash drives and even my external hard drive. It's just the smartphones that are affected. I have used 3 smartphones already all different models and they all exhibit the same behavior on both the usb 3 ports. But the smartphones worked fine when used with other computers.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI came across an intel 7260 card and installed it in my HP G72 with no problems. The notebook boots into Windows 7 64 bit with no errors. As soon as everything loads I try to connect to the internet and get "No Wireless networks found". I was using the intel wireless manual troubleshooter which stated the "radio is off" I checked the f12 key and have a blue light. Device Manager sees the adapter with no errors. The windows mobility center has the wifi network area greyed out. The Hp Wireless Assistant only shows bluetooth. I switched out that card for the old card and can access my network. if there is an fn key combo I need to press or a command I can enter in the command prompts or a regestry setting that needs to be changed.

The WiFi was having trouble connecting anywhere except close to my router, but recently the laptop is saying that a driver or hardware problem is detected in the Intel Dual Band Wireless-Ac 7260, and that Windows has stopped the device due to a problem (Code 43). The drivers are up to date, and connecting using an ethernet cable and checking for new updates tell me the drivers are up to date.

I have an Acer V7-482PG-9884 with an Intel 7260 AC wireless card running Windows 8.1 which was upgraded from Windows 8. Every 20-30 minutes, and sometimes more frequently, the internet connection drops while still connected to Wifi. Upon running the auto fix within internet explorer, Microsoft identifies the issue as a "The Defaul Gateway is Not Available." The internet connection is reset, and everything works fine for another 15-30 minutes whereby the issue repeats.
I've tried everything, switching to a different Intel Card 6205, using each and every driver available from Intel, nothing seems to properly remedy the issue. This includes playing with the power settings, turning off and on bluetooth, etc.
This is a known and widespread issue with Acer, Intel, and Microsoft.

Currently I have twice the nVidia gt 755m, working on SLI. Though a lot of games I play are incompatible with SLI and will heat op my laptop with bad performace. I could turn off my SLI option to have some normal fps again, but since skype and my mouse driver needs to be turned off everytime I want to turn on or off SLI it is not really my favorite option.
When you have twice the nvidia, the bios will automatically turn off the intel hd graphics. I would like to know if there is a possibility to turn on the intel hd graphics, then I could run my desktop + the programs that need to be turned of for the switching on the intel hd. I hope this would be possible to enable and that there will be no power issues when turning it on (3 graphic cards will take some power).
I'm on a roll with my new y510p. Last night I got the unit new from Lenovo outlet, and the battery wont' charge past 33% (covered in another post) and now the wireless adapter isn't working.
I can't connect or find any wireless networks, though I could last night. And the windows networking troubleshooter can't find anything. What's more, when I go to the command line and type 'ipconfig /all' nothing appears, no network adapters at all.
I've rebooted several times and even tried the Intel wireless proset (believe that's what it's called) utility that comes with the laptop. It squawked on the hardware test-- something about not 'wireless hardware is not bound to transport driver'.
I am using ideapad y510p. My wifi worked perfectly yesterday evening. However today at morning I couldnt find any wifi networks. After some research I have discovered that there is not wifi adapter present in Network Adapters and also that there is no wifi adapter in device manager. However bluetooth works fine. I have tried reinstalling drivers (even clean install of everything that may have something with networking). But I still cant see any wifi adapter. LAN connection works just fine. I dont think this should be hardware related problem because as far as I know bluetooth and wifi adapters are both located on Intel Centrino N2230. So I think that if my wifi adapter would be broken than bluetooth wouldnt be working too. I have also tried using system restore point to last week (when everything was working perfectly) but it didnt work.
I have also downloaded latest drivers from intel website and when I run tests with theirs WiFi Software Utility (or whatever it is called) it says that there is no wifi adapter present so it fails even hardware test.
I purchased the Lenovo Z580 laptop last month. It is a very good laptop, very silent and well built. Coupled with Windows 8 (64 bit), its a very new experience all together, especially the uptime after restart, connectivity etc. Superfast!
I've been traveling around the world offlate and after I was back home recently, uunfortunately, I'm facing a wired problem with the Wifi since then.
Nature of the problem: After restart, sleep, turn PC on:
1/ Wifi shows full signal status at the start screen.
2/ I enter password to login and it takes to W8 start screen. I then goto the desktop mode.
3/ When I launch a browser I can't connect to internet but the wifi status says 'Internet access'. But after few seconds, I see grey wireless symbol (without any signal bar) with a star on the left corner of the wifi symbol (Not connected mode).
4/ The network I connect to is no longer visible. Only 2 networks are detected. One is an open network and the other one is a different network. Usually several networks are within the range when I'm connected to my network.
5/ After 4-5 minutes, everything becomes normal i.e. the wifi adapter connects to the network.
I've tried router/modem power cycle, disable/enable wireless network adapter and they haven't solved the problem yet. Also noticed something in the Wi-Fi Status (wireless adapter settings window) accessed via Control Panel. Speed initially was 39.0Mbps and eventually changes to 72.0Mbps, drops to 65.0Mbps...
I don't have this problem with the other laptop and tablet I own.
It can detect and "connect" to my wifi, however the moment i try to enter a webpage, it disconnects and doesn't work. So basically, the wifi doesn't work. I have checked the drivers and i'm 99% sure they're updated.

I have tried being close and far from my wireless box and it doesnt fix the problem. My connection is great when its working, but it disconnects for about 20 seconds very often. Its extremely anoying, and I dont want to have to return this laptop as I really like it. Is there a location where I can update my notebook to hopefully resolve the problem?

I'm facing the problem that the wireless connection all of sudden disconnects and won't connect again unless I go through trouble shooting to fix the network problem or by restarting the laptop. I'm sure that the problem is with the laptop cause I tried it on different networks and tried different devices on the same network.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy lenovo Y510P used to always be at 100% but I have realized it has been decreasing by 1 every day. I have it on Maximum Battery Life with the Energy Management application.
It is currently at 85% and I would have posted this sooner if I had payed attention. I changed it to Optimized Battery Health and it is now dropping, currently at 75%.
I always leave the laptop plugged in because I usually play games on it such as battlefield, dayZ, counter strike, etc.
I've been playing Battlefield 3 for some time on Auto settings (most of them are Ultra) and my FPS were always in the range 65-85. Yesterday morning everything was fine, however at night when I opened the game again I had 10-15 FPS. I haven't changed anything in my laptop settings so I don't know why this is happening.
P.S: I only have 1 GPU (not the SLI version) so I know it's not a loss of power. But my battery settings are set to "Optimized battery health". Does it affect performance ?
I've got Y510p with USB 2.0 not working. By the time it malfunctioned it was under warranty and I sent it in the service center. They have claimed that it has been repaired (USB board has been changed) but it is still not working and my warranty ended like 3 days after I sent it back. Since then (1 month ago) I am returning it to the service center for 3 times (last one was today) and I feel they can't fix it. URL....

I bought Lenovo Y510P . and because of just hyper-v feature on win 8.1 pro also i need to upgrade windows. I found product key with a software and after that i open the "add feature to windows 8.1" . And when I choose "i already have product key" and put the product key , it does not accept . and says "this key won't work" .

View 9 Replies View RelatedTrying to resolve why laptop pc disconnects frequently from its wireless connection. No discernable pattern to disconnects, totally random. Happens in cycles of disconnect/auto reconnect or will go hours of stable operation. What I have noticed is tht the connection speed seems to vary, from a hig of 54.0 Mbps to as low as 2.0 Nbps. At same time the desktop pc (hard wired to modem) stays connected at 100 Mbps.

When I recieved my Y510p about 8 months ago, the usb ports worked perfectly fine. Around October they stopped working properly. The only solution which I found to work was doing a system restore. When I did this, an Unrecognized Device in the Device Manager was no longer unrecognized, and was instead replaced by USB xHCL (or something along those lines). However, as soon as i restared my computer again, the ports broke, and the unrecognized device reappeared. Repeating the restore followed by a restart breaks the ports every time.
View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Y510p has been freezing on startup, every startup. It can be completely inoperable for upwards of half an hour before unfreezing. It unfortunately has been occuring since the computer arrived (21 March, this year), so I doubt it has been caused by any software I've added. Given my limited knowledge of computers.

I have a new y510p I just received this week. First thing I did was replace the 1TB HD with my own OCZ Vertex 4 256GB SSD Drive.When I power on the laptop for the first time, it does not find a bootable device (goes through network devices, then says no bootable devices). If I use ctrl-alt-delete to reboot the laptop, it then finds the drive on its own and starts booting into Windows.
I'd like to understand why this does not work on the first boot? I went into the BIOS and saw it says there that no drives are detected.This worries me slightly, as perhaps one day it will decide to no longer recognize the drive after the ctrl-alt-delete?
Is there any way i can clone the stock hdd on my y510p to an ssd without losing one key recovery?

When I open up the task manager its says my memory is at 70%-100% WHILE IDLE but the programs are only using like 25%-40% memory so something is hidden. Just looking for a fix or allocating more memory to Windows. I have an 8Gb system.

After 60 seconds of inactivity, a video showing the new features of the lenovo y-series pops up. the only time it doesn't do this is when I'm in a youtube video or a game. I've changed the sleep setting to 15 minutes, but nothing has changed yet... I am on windows 8.1, have the 755M SLI, and the i7 4700-MQ.

When i am watching a movie/youtube clip/playing a game on my logitech pad i got a problem with performance.
After 3 or 4 minutes my movie/game starts to freeze like some kind of energy saver turnes on.
I put my laptop into highest performance via lenovo energy management.
I also checked the settings in windows energy management tool and everything seems to be fine.
I did not have such a problem with my G550 lenovo which i bought 5 years ago.
Currently i have only 128GB SSD inside my laptop and from time to time i'm connecting external drive.
Operating system: Windows 8.1 x64
