View 5 RepliesMy XPS just arrived yesterday, and i am having lots of trouble with the wireless connection. I have tried being close and far from my wireless box and it doesnt fix the problem. My connection is great when its working, but it disconnects for about 20 seconds very often. Its extremely anoying, and I dont want to have to return this laptop as I really like it. Is there a location where I can update my notebook to hopefully resolve the problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just bought Dell Inspiron 7520 with windows 8 pre-installed. I'm facing the problem that the wireless connection all of sudden disconnects and won't connect again unless I go through trouble shooting to fix the network problem or by restarting the laptop. I'm sure that the problem is with the laptop cause I tried it on different networks and tried different devices on the same network.
View 7 Replies View RelatedTrying to resolve why laptop pc disconnects frequently from its wireless connection. No discernable pattern to disconnects, totally random. Happens in cycles of disconnect/auto reconnect or will go hours of stable operation. What I have noticed is tht the connection speed seems to vary, from a hig of 54.0 Mbps to as low as 2.0 Nbps. At same time the desktop pc (hard wired to modem) stays connected at 100 Mbps.
Using RCA modem, WRT 160n v3 router. Inspirion 1545 pc
I have bought a y510p 755m SLI with intel 4700MQ and it's performance is great, but after 20min it just drops the speed from 3.3mbps to like 2kbps, I tried ALL drivers and none solved the problem (even the windows one). I have to turn airplane mode on and off in order to reconnect. If i disable wireless N it does not disconnect but I lose too much speed (around 1.2mbps) and I really don't want that.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running windows 7 64bit, I got a new RGBLED screen as a replacement mid last week. Now I just realized that when I close the lid the screen isn't turning off. I've went through all of the power options and set it to "Do nothing" when closing the lid and that, for every single laptop I've owned has made the screen to shut off when closed. If I let it idle it'll dim and then shut down like it normally would during windows use. Is there a quickfix or some sort of driver needed?
Also grabbed a 9cell battery from a parts sort locally, couldn't believe they had a 9cell for $30! This thing looks brand new, but I'm suspicious that it might be some chinese fake, how can I determine if it's real? It only have 1.0% of wear on it according to HWiNFO32.
my notebook has been shutting off my network connection whenever I close my lid. This didn't start happening until maybe a few weeks ago, maybe even less. I couldn't say if there was anything I did to accidentally cause this, but I certainly didn't do anything intentionally. I've looked through all the network connections properties and whatnot and I can't seem to find a fix.
I'm using an HP DV6500t that I purchased almost a year and a half ago. I have the Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN.
I have a HP P3015 Laser Jet printer installed on a network. My Aspire V3-731 sees it. I go to print and nothing happens. The print window closes and nothing prints. What do I do?

I have an E6400 running Vista Business. Whenever I let the computer idle and the screen turns off, my wired network connection disconnects. I want to prevent this from happening. I made sure it's not going to sleep.
I've checked every option I can think of including the power options in the control panel and the device properties. I even went into BIOS to see if there anything thing that was doing this.
If I leave my M4400 idle with Windows (Vista Ultimate 32-bit) locked and the screensaver on for any length of time (e.g. 20 minutes), then the network card goes into power-saving mode even while on AC power, reducing the connection speed from 1Gbps to 100Mbps. I can see this because the colour of the LED on the port changes. The reduction in speed causes a brief disconnection from the network. When I unlock Windows, there is another brief disconnection as it reverts to 1Gbps, and this causes instant messaging applications to log out.
If I go to the Link Speed tab on the network card's properties in Device Manager and force it to 1Gbps instead of Auto Negotiation, it warns me that power-saving features will be disabled, but then I don't experience the problem and it never disconnects. "Reduce link speed during battery operation" is unticked, but this should not apply to AC power anyway. I've tried upgrading the driver to 9.50.14.2, A01 (released on 24/02/2009) but the problem still happens.
Does anyone else experience this?
I have Dell Inspiron 5521 bought recently. My WiFi is get disconnected intermittently. Connection would go in Limited state sometimes or would disconnect completely for sometime.
I have other laptops on the network and they don't disconnect. Im on my home network. Whats wrong with the network adapter?
I have a Lenovo y510p and have a really annoying problem with it's USB 3 ports. Everytime I try to connect a smartphone(android) it will initially detect it but just seconds after it just disconnects it and then connects it back again, it just a never ending cycle. As a result I can't copy files. The ports work well with other flash drives and even my external hard drive. It's just the smartphones that are affected. I have used 3 smartphones already all different models and they all exhibit the same behavior on both the usb 3 ports. But the smartphones worked fine when used with other computers.

My wifi disconnects many times a day. Every other day the wifi adapter cannot find any router signals at all. It's been happeneing since new. I gave up on HP support as they never fixed ths issue and now the warranty has run out. At any rate I can get along by turning Wifi off/on when it drops connection, and rebooting the laptop when the adapter fails completely. Many posts indicate that a new adapter fixes the issue, but HP won't approve one. Naturally I am not going to buy HP again.
That is, the wifi connection randomly disconnects and reconnects, which is especially annoying when she is on MSN or whenever she is logged on to a HTTPS site (she has to log in again on the next refresh).
maybe Acer has a new driver for the 5100?
the OS installed is the factory Vista (with the usual bloatware - I deleted most of them). Can deleting certain Acer bloatware cause wifi issues?
I purchased the Lenovo Z580 laptop last month. It is a very good laptop, very silent and well built. Coupled with Windows 8 (64 bit), its a very new experience all together, especially the uptime after restart, connectivity etc. Superfast!
I've been traveling around the world offlate and after I was back home recently, uunfortunately, I'm facing a wired problem with the Wifi since then.
Nature of the problem: After restart, sleep, turn PC on:
1/ Wifi shows full signal status at the start screen.
2/ I enter password to login and it takes to W8 start screen. I then goto the desktop mode.
3/ When I launch a browser I can't connect to internet but the wifi status says 'Internet access'. But after few seconds, I see grey wireless symbol (without any signal bar) with a star on the left corner of the wifi symbol (Not connected mode).
4/ The network I connect to is no longer visible. Only 2 networks are detected. One is an open network and the other one is a different network. Usually several networks are within the range when I'm connected to my network.
5/ After 4-5 minutes, everything becomes normal i.e. the wifi adapter connects to the network.
I've tried router/modem power cycle, disable/enable wireless network adapter and they haven't solved the problem yet. Also noticed something in the Wi-Fi Status (wireless adapter settings window) accessed via Control Panel. Speed initially was 39.0Mbps and eventually changes to 72.0Mbps, drops to 65.0Mbps...
I don't have this problem with the other laptop and tablet I own.
My brand new Flex 2 14 periodically disconnects from the network on Wi-Fi. This is pretty unacceptable. Other PC's in the house are not experiencing the problem, so it's difficult to blame the router.,
I have a Broadcom 802.11N Network Adapter device with driver version 6.30.223.201, which is the latest on the Lenovo site. I am running Windows 8.1, as provided on the system. I've installed Windows updates and some other software, but have not otherwise changed the OS.
I have seen other users with similar problems, but no fixes for Broadcom.
I bought an Inspiron 15 7000 series about a week ago. From the very beginning, the wifi is not working properly. It takes too much time to connect and also disconnects automatically frequently. Sometimes it shows only limited connectivity. I have updated the drivers but no change so far. All other devices in home are working properly.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI just bought a new Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition VN7-591G-74LK. I found the WIFI (Atheros AR5BWB222) disconnects every time the CPU/Fan is in full load or nearly full load. Once the CPU/Fan utilization is low, the WiFi connection recovers.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI think something similar has been posted here before. In essence, I find that when I use my VX Revolution (or is it MX? Whichever one is the mobile version), the mouse occasionally loses its wireless connection to the computer, and so I have to click multiple times to get it to register.
This is annoying enough for me to consider getting a wired mouse, but I want to know if I get something like an MX518 if I'm still going to run into the disconnect/lag issue.
In other words, is it a wireless issue or a Logitech/PC/Mac conflict issue? I experienced both with and without the Logitech software installed. The software is currently installed.
if you have an older SZ and want to add a 3rd wire, this will show you how and where to put it.
So a while back I upgraded the the 4965AGN in my SZ750N to an Intel 5200, since that day, B&G has been noisy. I managed to arrange the antenna connections in such a way as to minimize it to within tolerable limits. I also talked to some experts and they said it wasn't going to hurt anything if there was a bit of static so I left it.
I have known for a while that is was the white antenna lead that was causing the static. Unfortunately disconnecting it caused a drop in signal. While working on my Windows 7 guide I had a problem and had to open the laptop. While doing so I noticed the white lead and the antenna it attached to. I hadn't ever really noticed where it sat before. Sony couldn't have hardly chosen a worse place for it.
Sony decided the best place for it, and I assume this is because they merely upgraded the old 2 wire wireless to 3 by adding this, is almost under the power button. Right next to... a speaker. The lead runs along a Speaker wire and puts the antenna right next to it. See pics 1 & 2................
Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 (64-Bit) (problem is also there with Windows 7)
I sometimes try to connect to a network, then the wireless led suddenly orange although Wireless is Enabled. My friend who has an XP system can connect to that network in the cafe just fine so does everybody else, but on my system, it says connecting, then the icon turns orange as if there was no wirelesss card installed.
I am using the Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN v12.2.0.11 Driver which was installed through Windows Update along with HP Wireless Assistant v3.50.2.1
Now I have an orange icon for wireless, although wireless is enabled in both device manager and through the touch key.
the icon will turn blue if I restart and wireless access will be restored, but I will lose it again if I try to connect to a wireless network.
I have a $70 i need to spend at dell and am looking for some wireless mice.
I have a 9300 with bluetooth and my wife has a m1330 with it as well. I would like a mouse for while i am traveling and can just keep in my bag as i have a nice gaming mouse at home.
First question, if i got 2 of the same mice, would there be a conflict or does each have some type of ID.
The two mice i am looking at are th following ones. Any first hand reviews?
