I have a ThinkPad X130e that won't power on or charge. I have performed the unplug the power cord and remove the battery trick but still nothing happens. The thing is essentially a paperweight.

Now, it seems to be permanent issue. I thought it was an adapter issue but I have two adapters and both work fine.

The Power Manager displays, the battery is at 100% but "status" periodically changes - both Power Manager and Windows battery indicator - between "No activity" and "Charging".
Every time stuck at the same "Remaining capacity". As i noticed during battery user windows and the Power Manager displays different information about the remaining battery level and time.
In my Win 7 X220 and Win 8 Yoga11s, both had Lenovo programs (Power Manager and Lenovo Energy Management respectively) that allowed me to maximize battery health by setting a charging threshold. In the TPY, is there any Lenovo programs that does that too?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith this laptop, the CPU usage rises significantly whenever the battery is charging. If I'm on running on battery power or it's fully charged, I don't have this problem. The CPU stays at 2-3% while browsing the internet, for example. But browsing the internet while the battery is charging will send the CPU up to 90-100%. It's not just browsing the internet, but any task, such as running Sony Vegas, using Skype, watching a movie, etc.
Again, this only happens while the battery is charging. Everything runs much, much slower. All power management settings are identical whether it be running on battery or charging with the AC adapter, so it's not that. I am also using the 65w power adapter that was supplied with the computer, and the adapter becomes very hot to the touch while charging.
I have a ThinkPad Edge 15. It had a charging problem from the day I purchased it. The people I bought it from sent it back to IBM/Lenovo who apparently tightened the area where the charging cord goes into the PC?
That did NOT fix the issue, so when I got my laptop back, I called LEnovo, they sent me a new battery (even though I told them the 'Power Manager' said the battery was in good condition) which did nothing. Then they sent me a new charging cord, again-nada. They sent me a box to send the laptop back to them. As I was figuring out how to put the laptop in the box, I looked over @ my PC, and lo and behold; the light that tells you if it is charging was shining!
Last night. I looked @ the charging icon; '15%, not charging'! Oops! Oh dear, not again! Went to power manager, everything is just fine. Checked all of my connections, same thing. I left the laptop plugged in. This morning as I look over @ the laptop & Guess WHAT! It was charging, the light was on! I turned it on...
I have a Thinkpad Edge E520 1143 AK7, working on windows 8, 32 Bit Pro.
From somewhere in the settings I had disabled charging option on "alwyas-on" USB port since I did not possess a smart phone.
Now, I have a smart phone and wanted to re-instate the facility. However, I am unable to find the option to enable the settings.
I enabled all the 3 options from BIOS and "refreshed" the machine to default state.
The USB port charges when the system is booted and stops charging when I shut down the PC.
I use a T440 with WIN8.1 pro machine but for whatever reason the external battery has stopped charging. As this laptop is only 3 months old Lenovo send me a brand new one but the outcome was the same, the charge symbol comes up on my screen when rebooting the machine and shortly after stops completely. I have now had my internal battery pack changed and again no improvement.

Only during charging of my laptop or when the laptop is on battery does the jittery/distorted audio playback occur. Happens during Flash playback or local media playback using say VLC, sometimes the distortion can Freeze or lock up the system.....
I've tried Audio Drivers, Video and my BIOS is the latest. This playback issue did not occur under Windows7 when I had it installed....
It started at 17% and even though it says it's plugged in and charging it doesn't do so. On " Energy Management" I have it set to 'Maximum battery life', the charging status says its 'charging', and the battery status is 'Good'.

With normal use such as internet browsing, facebook, e-mail, etc. there is no problem. However I often use my computer to game stuff like Don't Starve, League, CSGO, etc. So I'm thinking the problems is something to due with heat.
I have a P400 Touch that was purchased just a few months ago (February I believe) and it's been great so far. This past month, however, I haven't used it (until now) and noticed that my battery icon is stuck on "36% available (plugged in, charging)" but the thing is it's not charging whatsoever. What's worse is that if/when I pull the adapter from the laptop, it cuts off completely. The battery indicator light is steady white when the adapter is plugged in as well.

I've had my P400 for a few years now and today it stopped charging. Not like where it says "plugged in, not charging" but the battery isn't getting any power, when I plug my charger into the port on the side I noticed that the battery light that normally . I took it apart and I checked where you plug it in because I found that this is a common problem with laptops, but it's fine.

It could be that windows thinks the battery is charging, but it obviously isnt because when I pull the power plug, the laptop immediatley shuts off. Obviously the battery doesn't have a charge.
I got the latest version of the lenovo energy manager, but that didn't do anything. Also, I don't recall the enery manager being there. I am almost certain that it was not there prior to windows 8.1 upgrade.
Device Manager shows all of the hardware with no missing drivers/unknown hardware.

In windows it says battery 90% and is not charging but battery has no charge at all. When I disconnet the A/C power laptop just shutdown immediately. As soon as I unplug the power laptop just shutdown as there is no charge in the battery.
I did reinstalled the Power management and also updated it. I all unplugged reboot in OS, restart, put battery back and boot into the OS back. Nothing seems to work.
I just installed Lenovo Energy Management in windows 8 before I was trying in windows 7. In the battery tab there are two options
Maximum battery Life Optimized battery Health. It is selected to "Optimized battery Health" and won't change regardless of power plan. I click on "Maximum battery Life" and when I open the app again it reset it to "Optimized battery Health".
Lenovo Solution Center say that battery life is GOOD. "Your battery is in good condition".
I bought my lenovo z400 ideapad beginning of April this year and just about two days ago it just turned off and though I plugged it in later it started saying 'plugged in but not charging'. What do you think is the problem?
Furthermore I lost the receipt ( the sales receipt) but there is still the model/series no. , is the warranty still on?
