Lenovo Yoga 13 Flex :: Throttles CPU When In Tablet Mode Set To Portrait Orientation
Oct 24, 2012
When I set my Yoga 13 to tablet mode and set the orientation to Portrait mode, it throttles the CPU to 0.78 ghz and no matter what I run, it won't bring the CPU back to normal. Once I flip it back to laptop mode, it's back to normal. There needs to be an option turn the throttling feature on or off at will.
The other night I was showing my neighbor this glorious laptop and while demonstrating the game Birzzle, once in portrait mode, the game started freezing up because the CPU couldn't keep up.
When I flip to tablet or stand mode (i even get the toast notification that it's switched), the touchpad doesn't disable. I am still able to move the pointer and click. The keyboard however is disabled. I have installed the bios update, energy manager thing, and latest firmware from Synpatics.
Just recieved a lot of the new Yoga S1 laptops. I have searched the board and found others had this problem but the dates were old. Is there a new patch or fix?
I just got my lenovo yoga 3 pro, and started removing what I thought was bloatware, but I'm guessing I removed something important. Now, the keyboard/mousepad doesn't disable when I'm in tablet/stand/tent mode.
I got a new Twist a couple of days ago. When in tablet mode, the mouse pointer will come up and start moving around the screen. I think it may be one of two things. 1. The ghost of my former laptop is haunting the Twist or 2. The keyboard/mouse is not disabled in tablet mode and the back of my screen is causing the movement when I am using it in tablet mode. Is there a setting to disable the keyboard/mouse in tablet mode or am I the only one having this problem.
I recently did a fresh install of windows 8 on my yoga and I've installed all the drivers on Lenovo's website. Most of the things are working except for the airplane mode button on the keyboard. Where I can find the driver for that?
I noticed that if i boot my TPY in tablet mode, the cursor simply doesn't show up even if i flip back to the laptop mode. i can only solve it by restarting and booting back from laptop mode.
If i boot from laptop mode however and flip to tablet mode, the cursor reappears when i flip it back to laptop mode.
how to turn off the notifications that pop up in the upper right corner telling you that you have just changed from one configuration to another -- e.g. changing from tent mode to tablet mode?
I have a Yoga 3Pro.... I booted into Safe Mode and now ever time I boot up it goes into SF without me hitting F8? What's going on? It's on my Y3P. What box did I click to cause this.
I just have a few questions about how conservation mode and express charging work. These two are located in Energy Manager under settings.
Conservation mode keeps the battery percent at 55-60%. How is this done? Does the computer discharge until 55% and then charge back up to 60%? Also, if the computer is off, but the AC adapter is left in, will the computer still remain between 55 and 60%? Are there any detrimental effects on the battery?
Express charging allows the computer to be fully charged in 100 minutes. How is this done? Why is this feature not enabled by default? Are there any detrimental effects on the battery?
I have a new Flex 14. When I turn it on, I frequently get the following message "The battery is charged to a high capacity. Staying above 70% of capacity for a long period of time is adverse to the battery health. Enable 'Conservation Mode' in Settings." I can not find "Conservation Mode" in "Settings." ?
When I put my X220T in tablet mode, the screen moves just enough to move the pointing stick in the middle of the keyboard to cause the cursor to move. I can't rest my hand on the screen without causing the cursor to move all the way accross the screen.
Am I missing a driver that would disable the nub when the screen is turned over it, or is this a design oversight? I've got the latest BIOS.
I get an error "Display settings could not be saved" (german win7 version), when I try to select either of the flipped screen modes in Display - screen resolution
Also ctr-alt-left performs only one 90 rotation and does not rotate further.
I need the screen to rotate 270, how could I do this?
I just intalled a new disk that is running quite well, except that I cannot run xpmode. I get the warning that I need to alter the bios, but not setting exists on the chip to alter it for virtualization. Why could it run before on the same chip, but no longer. Is there a workaround. Is there a way to copy the settings from the old hard drive? I suspect not, but I am sometimes an optimist.
Running in extended desktop mode with my external monitor as the primary, the touch works as input on the laptop but the pen does not. When I put the pen to the screen of the tablet the pen icon appears on the external monitor screen only. I have gone to the Tablet PC Settings Setup to set up the pen (and hit "Enter" to change the screen for the input) but touching the pen to the Lenovo screen does nothing to set this option.
I feel if the touch screen will work in extended desktop mode, then the pen should and that I'm just missing something.I'm upgrading from the X60 and the workaround that I used for that tablet was to have two presets - one for extended desktop for the external monitor for everyday use and one for the laptop screen only for when I needed to use the tablet function while docked. That was a good workaround (although I would see the BSoD on a fairly regular basis) but I was hoping for more with the X220.

Well, didn't check before installing Macrium Reflect Professional but it detected 7 (seven) partitions in my Yoga2 13 (Not Pro) as follows:
1 - WinRE_DRV 1GB total 313MB used - NTFS Primary 2 - System_DRV 260MB total 28.5MB used - FAT32(LBA) Primary 3 - LRS_ESP 1GB total 497MB used - FAT32 (LBA) Primary 4 - NONE Unformated Primary (?) 5 - Windows OS 422GB total 44.58GB used (C NTFS Primary 6 - Lenovo 25GB total 2.46GB used (D NTFS Primary 7 - PBR_DRV 15.75GB total 12.46GB used NTFS Primary
All Yoga2 13 are like that from the factory or Macrium created some of them? If they are like that from the factory what each of the partitions have inside (other than, obvlously, the #5 Windows.)
In creating an image for restore in case one is needed which ones I should include in the image?
Is there any way to boost volume on Yoga 13?? I have my system volume and video player volume maxed out and it's STILL not loud enough. No it doesn't have anything to do with what I'm watching, and no, nothing to do with the player. Windows Media, VLC, and Divx have been tried.
I bought a Lenovo yoga 13 a couple days ago. the yoga freezes 1-2 times per day. the Screen Shows the frozen application, the Keyboard, touchpad or mouse didnt Response.
I watched into the logfile and DptfPolicyLpmServiceHelper is the last entry before the Crash. I uninstalled the Dynamic Platform and Thermal Framework, but it doesn't work....
I purchased a new Flex 2-15 online the past week. The model name shown on the back is "20405". Manufacture date is May 12, 2014. The User Guide refers to a "Novo Button", which is shown in diagrams as being on both the left edge and the right edge near the front. Neither location has a button of any sort. The right edge has a pinhole in the supposed button location. A curved arrow icon is next to the pinhole. I have an inkling this may be some sort of factory reset button. Lacking the Novo button, what is the procedure for accessing the features which the manual says are accessed by pressing this non-existent button?. That is, BIOS, and/or the one touch image backup/restore system?
I got my new Yoga Pro 3 and it is looking and working great except from the two fingers tap which does not. This is a real bummer since I use it all the time on my mac and Asus devices.
I´ve got a problem when I connect the yoga 2 pro with my TV (8 year old sony, full hd) with HDMI. The picture doesn´t fit into the screen, it is too big. I tried changing the resolution of both yoga and tv and at the Intel graphics driver I can´t change the scaling option. H
I paid $60 just for some recovery discs to recover my accidentally formatted Yoga 2 Pro. The discs came with no instructions whatsoever, and using them is weird. First of all, there is two disc 1's, no disc 2, yet there is a disc 3 and 4. Support confirmed this is normal. There is also no prompt between discs 1,1, and 2, so despite making my best guess at when to switch, I can't confidently say I'm not screwing things up.
After the whole process completes, the bios can't find bootable media.
I had bought yoga 2 pro from Malaysia three weeks back. And I had traveled back to India last week. The PC was working fine till yesterday. Yesterday while I was working suddenly the system hangs and I had to hard reset. But after that the system didn't boot up. It shows boot device not found. I have switched it off and tried booting using restore button and opened the bios it shows that HDD not detected.
Similar kind of issue I faced two times before but if I hard boot again it worked fine.
