I have CS18 sony vaoi , my right speaker of computer stop working , even the left speaker of headphones are also not working ,
i have check this with two different headphones , those headphones are working on other computer so they are ok ,
So is my laptop speaker is faulty ?? or my sound card is faulty ?? or my OS is faulty

The Headphones are working fine but the Inbuilt speakers that are Awefully situated inbetween the hinge and the base of the Screen aren't working.

First i thought that this was a issue with the headphone jack assembly that might have cut off the internal speaker circuit due to improper removal of the headphone jack but thats not true because I noticed that Its an Issue with the angle I keep my Screen's tilt.

On moving the screen to any angle above 90 or 100 degrees the speakers get cut of and are activated once its below 80 degrees.

i installed a logitech speaker for my sony laptop, and when i was installing it, i think i accidentally deleted the program that works the built-in speaker. I was wondering if there's anyway i can get my built-in speaker working again.

But the headphone and/or microphone is working very fine. I went to a local laptop repairing shop for diagnosis. Unfortunately they were unable to find out the actual problem. They suggest me to change the speaker chip may result solve the problem. Before changing the chip I want to diagnose once more for accuracy about the problem. Any online check can be possible?

The left side speaker (Only the left side) of my laptop is working intermetently. Sometimes it's working, sometimes not. When I tried to tap hard the laptop near the left speaker, sometimes it work but a crackling sound or not clear sound is coming. Should I replace the speaker or a wire inside is loose?
I have HP Pavilion g6 Notebook PC. I just do not understand why my internal speakers or headphones are not working. sometimes it works and other times it don't.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThe right speaker in my notebook is louder then the left one is. The only way to compensate for the problem is to lower the "balance" in the sound properties for the right speaker (I have it all the way down to 70 if you can believe that!) Now my audio sounds even between the left and right speaker. I think it's ashame that seems to be the only fix for the problem. Not sure if this is a driver issue or a hardware issue.
NVidia installs audio drivers to the computer when installing the video drivers (which I still don't understand why...I thought NVidia was a graphics company?) Then I install the IDT drivers/software afterwards. HP has verified that this is correct so everything on my end is up to date...minus of course offical drivers for the 320M video card that everyone is still waiting on!
I've been listening to a bunch of podcasts on my laptop lately and realized that the right hand side speaker is MUCH louder than my than the left speaker, in fact if I lower the balance on the right speaker to 0% and left to 100% it's not half as loud as the right at 100%. Is this normal? If not is there a fix for this?
Also when typing, if I press the Caps lock key too fast the cursor disappears and my typing is interrupted anyone know is up with that?
i wanted to ask if on a lenovo g550 take of the lcd cables does the mainboard continue to give signal to external vga?

All was working perfectly for the past couple of days (since I got it) until today when the monitor will go blank, display a 'no signal' message, the laptop screen will flicker then after approx 15 seconds all is back to normal excepting the following message is displayed:-

View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased an FW285D and its been great thus far.. I have been noticing issues with the wireless signal however. I have a dell inspirion 9300 also and it uses intel wireless... MY sony however is currently using the vista wireless system but i did see some intel wireless programs lying around.
Anyway basically when im upstairs in the house the internet cuts in and out constantly.. showing my network then saying its not available. 3 Other people use laptops in the house and they have no problems whatsoever including my dell.. I have it sitting beside my sony and it will stay connected while my sony keeps on having to reconnect. Its truly annoying. Its weird because it shows the wireless signal of my neighbours houses at a higher strength than my own connection and also has them ALWAYS up. No one else in my house gets this problem so i doubt it has something to do with my actual wireless router... which is a linksys WRT300N.
Does anyone have any ideas.. Will the intel wireless be better.. if i double click on the .exe file in my common(ifrmework) folder it just says i need to reinstall the program and restart.....
I am running a IBM Thinkpad W540 with a Lenovo Ultra Dock Docking Station 170 (Model 40A20170US). I have 3 Asus 23.6" LED HD Monitors (Model VN247HP). These monitors have a standard VGA connection and 2 HDMI ports, By default you are provided a VGA cable and a HDMI-DVI cable. When I plug these monitors into the Ultra Dock no signal is found(including the VGA).
When I plug into the direct VGA port on the laptop, the monitor gets signal. If I use a Mini-DP connection with a Mini-DP-DVI adapter I get signal just fine. If I plug my this monitor into my desktop under HDMI and DVI connections it works just fine.
I have gone into the bios and confirmed that under display the "Video Mode on Dock" is set to Advanced(I tried standard and it did not work any better). I have the latest video drivers for the Intel HD graphics driver (10.18.10.3412) and the NVIDIA Quadro K1100M (9.18.13.4052). The USB ports work just fine, as does the power cable for the docking station. I tried applying the latest firmware update but the program runs and nothing happens. I checked for any other drivers that might have resolve the issue but have not had any luck.
One month ago I bought a Lenovo B5400 MB825GE with Windows 8.1 and I'm quite happy with it. The only problem I have got is, that the notebook won't change the audio output - automatically and most of the time even manually -Â from the speakers to the headphone, when plugged in.

I can "change" the output in the Windows "Sound" options but the problem here is, that it won't really work. I have got two devices in here, the first is the "Speaker/Headphone" which only represents the speaker. The second is the "Realtek HD Audio 2nd output" which means to be for the headphone. I have changed them to "default device" and to "default communication device" but the output won't change.

E.g.: Somehow (I'm really not sure how) I managed to change the audio output to the headphone. If I plug it out now, the audio output won't change to the speakers even if I change it in the Windows "Sound" option.
Before installing Realtek HD Audio Driver in control panel > sound > playback windows show headphone jack but red led in headphone jack is on and I have only speaker sound when I put headphone in jack don't recognize it .

After installing Realtek HD Audio Driver in playback device only show Speakers and I have Sound in speaker and headphone at the same time together.
1. tested in windows 7 , windows 8 , windows 8.1 64bit
2. tested with last driver from Realtalk and Lenovo driver download (and also orginal driver)
3. tested with 5 headphone
4. realtalk control panel don't show headphone that in jack (but after driver install headphone and speaker work at same time !!!!)
5. I am checked to show disable device in playback sound window.

I am Thinking problem is :
1. Drivers that is in the Lenovo site have problem and should be updated because after I install driver it recognize the headphone but cannot stop the speaker at this time

Sound problem of ThinkPad X220. Audio CD is no problem, and sound comes from speaker. Headphone is also working when pluged into 3.5mm jack. But no sound from Internet Video such as ABC news or YouTube. Recently, I have installed Cisco TeleConference software, and I have uninstalled that software, but the conditions have not changed.

Everything but FN, Graphics switching, and S1 S2 keys work fine. 64 bit is very stable and fast but I would like everything to work and also be able to load from Sony restore disc. The thread about ABR may help too.
Anyone have any idea how to get FN working? I think the video camera works but the Viao software won't recognize it, strange?

I don't know if this matters or not w/the built in speakers but does it make any difference selecting the default Format of the sample rate of your speakers?
I see on the Advanced tab there is 16 or 24 bit and then different quality's (CD, DVD & Studio) and Hz's of 44100, 48000, 96000 and 192000. Does changing to the higest Hz and 24 bit and say Studio settings make any real difference? The Default is 16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality).
I lost the speaker adjustment on my bottom tool bar how can I get it back?
I notice a significant difference in volume levels on my FW490. When listening to music via iTunes, or to Sirius online, the levels are adequate. However when I watch a dvd (Bluray or regular), even after turning the speaker volume as high as it will go, the volume is very weak. Is this normal? Headphone volume is fine btw. Is there a setting that boost volume when playing dvd's? Otherwise I will be buying notebook speakers.

My sister has a unibody macbook and I was wondering if anyone has experience of the sound quality of these laptops comparitively. As the macbook is the only laptop I could really compare the fw's sound to as I have not heard any others.
So basically is the sound better, equal or worse than the unibody macbook's? when listening to music, watching films.
About three months ago I returned my laptop to be repaired for a hard drive malfunction, not a big deal since I had the two year accidental protection plan. When I got it back they gave me a new hard drive, but my video card switcher no longer worked! Please see the attached image: the slide switch is towards "Stamina" however the "Speed" is illuminated. The slideswitch seems to be locked in place, I cannot move it.
I only recently had time to tell Sony about this, to which they replied that they cannot help me, since it has been more than 30 days since the repair. I replied explaining that I had this fancy-shmancy protection plan, and perhaps it could be fixed under that umbrella; to which they tactfully retorted that they had (prematurely) terminated my contract, and that if I want, I can send it in and be charged for parts and labor for the thing that they broke. Anyway..I would love to fix this myself, since I am in fact on my own. I took off the keyboard and palmrest, and was unable to find out how to remove the cover that contains the S-buttons/slideswitches/power button/speakers. Is it in there with just clips? This region looks particularly delicate, not that the rest isn't, however I feel as thought I should be especially gentle. Ive checked all the disassembly/teardown links I could find on the sz series, but none seem to detail how to remove this one part.

ý have a sony vaio sr39vn, ý cleaned the recovery and ý installed a clean vista but ý have some problems now !!!!!

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate version x64 on my Sony VPC-CW13.
But the function keys are not working properly. The volume one work but no OSD. Contrast, and monitor selection one since like it is not working at all.

I was playing a game and suddenly the game crashed and it jumped into windows ,an icon appeared saying display driver stopped working ,i entered the game again game crashed this time it restarted the system, now the system cant even show the VAIO and phoenix logo. its full of lines with extremely low resolutions,as i try to enter windows blue screen shows up and it restart the system auto. i entered safe mode and i found out ASA i uninstall the nvidia driver(8400M GT),the windows start up.Now the driver is uninstalled and i can work in windows,but in very low setting,like i am having onboard graphic chip,i cant modify my graphic card and the chip and DAC type are all unavaiable,(instead i have unknow device in my device manager) i think i need to flash my BIOS, but i searched the internet for my bios couldnt find anything,i think i need to do it manual.
