Sony :: SZ6 Series FN Not Working

I have an SZ691 trying to go from Vista Business 32 to 64 bit. Everything but FN, Graphics switching, and S1 S2 keys work fine. 64 bit is very stable and fast but I would like everything to work and also be able to load from Sony restore disc. The thread about ABR may help too.
Anyone have any idea how to get FN working? I think the video camera works but the Viao software won't recognize it, strange?
It would be nice if we could "STICKY" all 64 bit OS threads. Here are some that I have read.

at first excuse me for a new thread about this problem, ý know the solution is in official sr topic but ý have no time to search !!! excuse me again
ý have a sony vaio sr39vn, ý cleaned the recovery and ý installed a clean vista but ý have some problems now !!!!!
1--FN key isnt working now ( brightness, volume control and etc .... )
2--mode and settings buttons and functions arent also working
3--some of the drivers arent in sony support so ý found them from usa support (like wireless, webcam ) and also some of drivers in sony suport ( like hdd protection driver,spef driver

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Ultimate version x64 on my Sony VPC-CW13.
But the function keys are not working properly. The volume one work but no OSD. Contrast, and monitor selection one since like it is not working at all.
any tips?
I install all the driver available on the esupport.sony.com website, but still no luck

I have CS18 sony vaoi , my right speaker of computer stop working , even the left speaker of headphones are also not working ,
i have check this with two different headphones , those headphones are working on other computer so they are ok ,
So is my laptop speaker is faulty ?? or my sound card is faulty ?? or my OS is faulty

I was playing a game and suddenly the game crashed and it jumped into windows ,an icon appeared saying display driver stopped working ,i entered the game again game crashed this time it restarted the system, now the system cant even show the VAIO and phoenix logo. its full of lines with extremely low resolutions,as i try to enter windows blue screen shows up and it restart the system auto. i entered safe mode and i found out ASA i uninstall the nvidia driver(8400M GT),the windows start up.Now the driver is uninstalled and i can work in windows,but in very low setting,like i am having onboard graphic chip,i cant modify my graphic card and the chip and DAC type are all unavaiable,(instead i have unknow device in my device manager) i think i need to flash my BIOS, but i searched the internet for my bios couldnt find anything,i think i need to do it manual.

I have a tt series VGN-TT190 notebook and after installed windows 7 the auto dimmer, and the noise cancelling doesn't work. I called sony and they don't know how to fix it either- they told me to live with it.

I've got Y510p with USB 2.0 not working. By the time it malfunctioned it was under warranty and I sent it in the service center. They have claimed that it has been repaired (USB  board has been changed) but it is still not working and my warranty ended like 3 days after I sent it back. Since then (1 month ago) I am returning it to the service center for 3 times (last one was today) and I feel they can't fix it. URL....

My SZ430 has been a workhorse for me for 3+ years and I m now looking into the replacement of either Z or Y series....
Problem I have is I have 2 docking stations for my SZ in my home and office and would like to know if I can reuse those for the new Z or Y series.

When I recieved my Y510p about 8 months ago, the usb ports worked perfectly fine. Â Around October they stopped working properly. Â The only solution which I found to work was doing a system restore. Â When I did this, an Unrecognized Device in the Device Manager was no longer unrecognized, and was instead replaced by USB xHCL (or something along those lines). Â However, as soon as i restared my computer again, the ports broke, and the unrecognized device reappeared. Â Repeating the restore followed by a restart breaks the ports every time.

when i press one key recovery an app opens wich have two option one of them back up and the othere is recovery when i press backup i see an error saying current system cannot support backup and when i press recovery shows me a notice to reboot in order to start recovery  but when i press yes i see an error saying the program cannot find the service partition i am using win8 64

I recently got a U310 ideapad, and I am trying to run a Linux LiveCD that I put on my USB drive using uinetbootin. On the idea pad I made the settings for the BIOS have the boot order with USB FDD and USB Drives on the top. Even with fitting fn+F12 I am still not getting any success with the boot from USB.

My Lenovo G570. Yesterday, it was working perfectly, I properly shut is down. I have set a BIOS pasword. Today, when I switch it on, I was unable to type the pasword becasu some keys were not working. However, I managed to loged in with On Screen Keyboard. After analysing it, I came to know that some keys on numpad includeing 0,2 and on the 2nd line(vertical numerical keys) 1,2,3,4,7,8,9,0 are not working. I tried to re-install the OS but I set a BIOS password containing one of the missing keys.

I currently have an issue with my original X1 Carbon (2012, 3443-CTU) light not working on the LCD. Â I attached an external monitor to the laptop and it works without issues so it's not the motherboard. Under the right lighting conditions and angle, i can see very very faintly my desktop background.Â
This leads me to believe that the screen inverter is damaged, or the lcd. Since my ultrabook isn't under warranty, i believe the best course of action is to find the screen on ebay and replace it. [URL] ....
Is replacing the LCD as easy as it sounds? It looks like i need to remove much of the parts underneath the keyboard panel, and remove the LCD bezel and replace the screen. Is there something i'm missing?Â

I've got the 12inch thinkpad yoga. The left shift key works intermittently. This started happening to me a couple of weeks ago (I've had the computer since December and haven't noticed a problem. I sent it in twice and supposedly, they replaced the whole machine this last time, but I'm still having the problem. Could this be a fault in this model in general?

Recently I bought a Y500. After installing the Windows 7 X64 and start a conversation on Skype fot the first time webcam worked without problem. After two days I tried to make a video call but the camera does not start ... Circle rotates the camera LED lights up but the screen is black.
I tried the site. Testmycam.com has image but blurred. Reinstalling drivers, i installed an old version of Skype version 4.2 but problem not resolved...

My Lenovo Easy Camera has stopped working. First I tried updating drivers from Device Mananger but it said my drivers are up to date then I tried installing the new drivers manually from lenovo's website but no gain.

I've got thinkpad W500 and the PrtSc  key is not capturing screen I want to copy.  It doesn't require the Fn key because it's labeled on top row ("sysrq" is below it on 2nd row on same button key). Â
-I also tried pressing Fn + prtsc just to see if that would work. Â Didn't work.
-Then I tried pressing Alt + prtsc... nothing.
-I even tried pressing Ctrl + PrtSc.... nothing.
Â
I've looked all over Forum, no one addresses this, or at least not for the W500 (which is different from the other W510 through W540 series laptops. Or other ways to capture a screenshot?

i recently bought my W520 and everything works just fine - except for the internal webcam.

I installed the drivers (current version) from the Lenovo web site but the webcam won't turn on. The green just wouldn't turn on and when I press Fn+F6 the communication tool shows up without any webcam video. Same thing for skype or any other webcam tool.

Sometimes after booting it works for a few seconds but then the image freezes and it won't start again until after several system restarts.

I just bought my laptop. Installed Windows 7 clean 64bit on it.This is the laptop's product page. I can't change the brightness of my laptop's screen. I can't do via the [Fn+Up/Down] combo nor by the Windows Power Options interface.

I tried all combos of installing and uninstalling the Lenovo Energy Management. (I got v7.0.4.1 on my laptop).I tried un and installing Intel HD 4000 (Driver v8.15.10.2696). I get Lenovo ACPIVPC v7.1.0.1 (12/15/2011) when installing the energy management thing.I've tried to install as least as possible other Lenovo crapware.

I bought a N500 before 1 day and today..the "second day" the touchpad is not working anymore. I did nothing special so far with the notebook, its not working on the pre-installled vista and ubuntu. so it can´t be a driver failure. Is there any special secret key to disable it? maybe i pressed a button wihout care..Â

I have tested the following on 2 identical W540 machines.After installing Windows 8.1, the internal camera is not working. I dont remember if the camera worked before we installed 8.1. I have installed all relevant drivers and updated all windows updates. I have installed all drivers from System update.

The touchpad of my Lenovo G50-70 (i3-4010U) is not working properly (windows 8.1). Sometimes when I use the touchpad, the arrow don’t move. Until it close and open the display, it’s don’t move. In addition, this method does not always work.i have gone to options and I've turned off touchpad options "two fingers" mode, but nothing change.Honestly speaking, I have still in function an old notebook pc (from 2007, not Lenovo!), I need my computer for travel work but this problem becomes very difficult my job.

I've had this laptop for about a year or two and all of sudden my two left usb 3.0 ports stop working, although when I first turn on my laptop, the left side works for about a second and then stops working. My right usb port which is the 2.0 one works just fine.Â
