View 4 RepliesI have a Lenovo P580 that I put a Samsung Evo 840 SSD in. The system seems to always run hot, the fan runs high and I'm not sure why.
Right now the at 205 degrees, the moterhboard at 209 degrees, and the SSD at 133 degrees.
I leave the laptop on most of te time, but during the night when t is idel, it still runs hot and the fan runs loud. I'm using anywhere between 60-100% of my CPU, and the major programs sucking resources are MS Security Essentials, OneDrive, and CrashPlan.
I do have an external hard drive attached for extra data storage. Is the system jacked up? The laptop sits on a desk all day, so there is no issues with exhaust.
After entering the initial request for password (successfully), the keyboard is non-functional. With the exception of the windows scroll key, no other keys work. Logic suggests that this is a driver problem. The question is which driver?
BTW, looking at the driver manager, it says that the keyboard driver is a standard PS2 keyboard from Microsoft, dated 6/21/2006, version 6.2.9200.16548. Can this be?
when i press one key recovery an app opens wich have two option one of them back up and the othere is recovery when i press backup i see an error saying current system cannot support backup and when i press recovery shows me a notice to reboot in order to start recovery but when i press yes i see an error saying the program cannot find the service partition i am using win8 64
View 5 Replies View RelatedThe numbers 1-4 on my Y580 keyboard don't work anymore. I only realized this recently as I had been using a separate USB keyboard for some time. I've tried all sorts of things - uninstalling and uninstalling the keyboard drivers in Device Manager, reinstalling the BIOS, unchecking all the boxes under the accessbility options, scanned the computer for malware...but nothing seems to work.
I've also installed Windows 8.1 and replaced my HDD with an SSD...
It is not working, I try many times. When I click the onekey button, the onekey recovery window is transparent, after I click any button, then it dead. What should I do?

Few number keys and space bar is not working. Other keys are working fine.
For some reason, I cannot get the backlit keyboard to work on my new X1 Carbon Touch. It lights up upon powering up and then will not turn on no matter how many times I hit the space bar. I don't see an option to enable/disable anywhere either. Am I missing a driver?

I just got a new Ideapad U530 touchscreen laptop yesterday. After a few minutes the keyboard stops working. I uninstalled a few of the Lenovo multimedia programs I don't need. Is there a bios update or a driver I should update after purchase?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just bought a Lenovo Yoga 2 pro and installed windows 8.1 by itsef. During Windows 8.1 initial setup I was able to use keyboard to type in PC Name, but after that the keyboard and touch pad was not working/no any response any more. After Windows 8.1 lunched the keyboard also no any response. I have to use touch screen soft keyboard. But when laptop in BIOS mode (turn power off and press a small round button next to power button) the keyboard was working fine. So I think that the keyboard hardware is ok, but some thing iwas wrong with Windows 8.1 software issue. I also un-selected all on Easy of Access->Keyboard section in Windows 8.1.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen the keyboard on my T430s is in use, the touchpad is disabled. This prevents any gaming.
The driver for the touchpad is UltraNav Pointing Device version 16.2.19.14 (the newest available I believe). How to get the touchpad working so I can play some games?
I have tried to modify the touchpad settings from the Control Panel but I cannot find a relevent option.
I received a T410 and worked two days on it. From one office I moved to another location and worked for some hours. After lunch I started the machine again, but neither touchpad nor keyboard is working. If I connect a pointer via USB on the machine the pointer is working, keyboard unfortunately not.
Ok. Admins installed it new. I worked one day, next morning same issue. Well, back to admins, reinstallation completed. Again for two days I could work without any problem. So as it happened the third time admins decided to provide me a new hardware: I received a T420. I have been working with this one week without any error.
I took the notebook home. I had been working with it for one hour. I used a USB-to-bluetooth wireless pointer. No problems so far.
I got back in the office this morning an guess what?!?!?! Same problem as for the T410: Windows is starting up but touchpad and kayboard is not working at all!
What did I? In my opinion nothing special:
1) Started up machine
2) Added pointer
3) Connected via WLAN to network at home (settings for Home-Network applying)
4) Packed the notebook into my suitcase and took the flight.
5) Back at the office connected via LAN to network, connected via VGA to monitor, added usb-keyboard, added pointer.
What can this be? I mean I'm able to destroy to different machines! Only common is Windows 7 and T4xx series...
I have a problem with My Lenovo y510p. I was working for some time on Windows 7 with no errors. I decided to upgrade my system to Windows 8.1. I did a clean install and installed all drivers from Lenovo website as well. I have a problem that after waking up laptop from sleep mode sometimes (not always) built-in keybord is not working. Solution is to turn compter sleep again and wake it up again or logoff from windows and login again.
Have any of you had such problem with Windows 8.1? I tried power management options changes that used to be a solution for other brands but with no success...
Just got my new x1 carbon, and I like it alot, trackpad isn't as bad as everyone is complaining about. However one big issue is that I want to keep the Function row on by default, and only switch to the default one with volume controls if I press the FN button to do so. Right now no matter even if I chose not to show the default keys, with volume and cloud and all that, it still comes back anytime I switch to a different app.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI installed some Corsair Ram in slot 1 and 2 underneath the keyboard and after reinstalling the keyboard Ive noticed theres a gap at the top of the keyboard where it slots into the computer the whole way across specifically in the middle where theres alot of flex. The plastic which has the power and volume buttons seems to move around when pressed. This seems to be letting in dust and would especially allow a spill to enter the machine. This doesn't seem normal for a well built machine and have I installed the keyboard wrong?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a Lenovo G510 and Windows 8.1. I can´t use keyboard and mouse at the same time. When i typing the mousepad locks. I guess this is a feature but I wan´t it turned off but I don´t know how to do that.
I have tested with the drivers for Windows 8.1 and Windows 8, listed here: [URL] ....
I then even tried with installing the driver for Windows 8 from: [URL] ....
But when I got through the installation process the "installation program" says the driver couldn´t be installed.
I tried with the advice in this thread: [URL] ....
but I have synaptics 7.5 and not 7.4. I also tried fixing with the register but didn´t find the entry PalmKms. I did do find other entries with Palm.
I see this as a major problem since it makes me completely unable to use any program that require simultaneously use of the keyboard and mouse. Therefore I guess that must be a solution for this?
I was wondering if it is even possible to turn off the keyboad backlight of lenovo Y510p?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have purchased a Lenovo Thinkpad T430. This laptop came with pre-installed Windows 7 Pro. However I want to use Windows 8 which I have a recovery disc for.
I built in a SSD instead of the optical drive. So I don´t have a optical drive. On this SSD I want to run my OS.
With a software from Samsung (manufacturer of my SSD) I was able to copy the Windows7 OS on my SSD.
As I mentioned above I bought a laptop with installed windows 7 pro and a Windows 8 upgrade disc. Therefore I got the "Operating System Recovery Dis Windows 8 Pro. (OEM Activation 3.0 Required)".
The problem now is that I have an upgrade disc but no optical drive. So I created an image of the upgrade disc and with this image I have created a bootable USB stick with the following program:
[URL] ....
When I boot my laptop using the bootable USB stick everything seems to be working until to the point where I have to accept the EULA.
So I chose a language, and clicked on "I accept the agreements".
When I want to click on "next" I got a error message "recovery failed".
Please have a look on the following picture taken with my smartphone. The language used in this picture is german as i live in Austria.

How I can upgrade to Windows 8? Why the upgrade disc is not working?
