A ways back, I screwed up my headphone jack & moved to headphones w/ the USB Connection & ever since, it has been 1 headache after the other.
They`ll work fine for awhile & then everything gets played w/ a higher pitch garble. This happens w/ my ITunes, Youtube etc.
I have disabled & re-uploaded the audio drivers & it works for a few minutes & then back to the same warbling racket. Also, lately Ive noticed that I can be listening to nothing & I can hear crackling coming out of my headphones.
When I plug the headset in, the sound is routed to the headphones, but the internal speakers continue to sound also.
Is there a way to turn off the internal speakers off while listening through the headphones?
You knw the creative noise canx headphones that come with the 1530.
Well my girlfriend washed them in the wash, and guess what they are clean, and they still work.
I have a Studio 17 and added a Dell 370 bluetooth card so I can use my bluetooth mouse and it works fine.
I saw a pair of Motorola Bluetooth stereo headphones, and I'm wondering if these would allow me to listen to my mp3's using Winamp, or if I go into a voice chat room if I can use the bluetooth headphones ?
I would like to try them for listening to my mp3's and I think the Dell 370 is A2DP compatible but not sure about that either, I cant find that on the Dell spec sheet. The headphones are Motorola S805 stereo bluetooth phones.
If it does work, does it have as good sound as a wired headset would ?
I got my XPS 1530 two months back. Now i seem to have problems with the creative headphones that came with the laptop. Only one of the earphones seem to be working. What do I do? And is there some kinda warranty for the headphones with which i can get them replaced?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI got a system exchange for my inspiron 1520 that had clicking/popping noises anytime audio was played, and my new m1530 has the exact same issue. (What I hear is a clicking/popping right before audio is played, and right after it stops for all my audio players. This also happens when it is paused.) I am wondering if this is just bad luck or if this is some mass hardware issue. So I pose the question, do you guys get clicking/popping on your 1520/1530's?
How to reproduce clicking/popping:
1) Plug in headphones
2)Turn volume down to less than 15% of the max volume (any higher and you risk ear damage)
3) Close media players, etc (not just pause, close them).
4) To try to standardize the tests, try running sounds directly from windows:
Right click the speaker icon in your tray, hit sounds. Select one of the sounds and try using the test button. The most noticeable clicking/popping are at the bottom under "windows speech recognition" as the pop at the end is about 1/2 second delayed on some of them. Device connect, device disconnect, and the logon/logoff sounds are also very noticeable.
What is odd for me is that each sound has different clicks/pops, and that they are consistent for each one. I also don't think its my headphones either, as I have three pairs (One Sennheiser, one creative, one sony) and they each produce the same clicking/popping pattern for each sound.
i am the proud owner of a brand new HDX18T. Everything seems to be functioning fine except the following:
Whenever I plug in headphones, the audio from the PC speakers continues to play. I can hear everything in the headphones AND the PC speakers at the same time. I spoke with an HP support tech who suggested reloading the driver which I did. The problem remains. I am hoping that this is a software setup somewhere that I just haven't found yet,
Aspire 7520G, Realtek audio installed, Logitech Z-10 USB speakers and Steelseries Siberia Neckband Headset with additional sound card (see pic).
So. When I switch off winamp, plug out speakers and plug-in my headset - its not working! The most interesting thing is when I just plug-in in the headset without sound card (just directly to the note) - it works!
I dont know why, but earlier it was working properly with this external sound regulator. And now not.
I suppose, it might be because of USB/analog switching or something similar, but I dont know..
My computer went through a standard update, nothing out of the ordinary and all of a sudden my audio doesn't work. I restart my computer and it works for a couple of minutes and then it stops. Ten minutes later it works again and then cuts off and so on, so forth.

I followed the direct HP support website to troubleshoot the problem and it told me to turn the volume up.
I recently bought a Y50, only to discover that no matter what headphones I use, no sound will play. The actual speakers on the laptop work fine, I just cannot get any sound through headphones. I have tried messing with the drivers, but with no luck. What could be causing this? Or is my headphone jack busted?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my HP ENVY m6 laptop (Running Windows 8) regarding sound on my headphones. Just as recent as today, when I plugged in my headphones no sound came through. I tried another pair, but got the same result. This laptop is only about 4 and a half months old (Got it in mid-January), and this is a real bummer.

what Im trying to get is get the front speakers working while my headphone plugged on the rear jack is acting like my rear. this setup is possible on the old cmedia sound cards. how I will make this work on a realtek soundcards?
I own the Pavilion g6 and ever since I've gotten it, I've had audio driver problems. This is a recent one. I'm not able to set my Communication Headphones as the default device. The reason I want to is because I want audio to go through my headphones only, but if I disable speakers and headphones, volume mixer glitches out and says "No audio device is installed" I've also had other problem too, my microphone does not work correctly but the headphones do. I've already tried uninstalling / reinstalling by the way.

View 7 Replies View Relatedsince the past week, whenever i plug my headphones into my laptop sound comes through BOTH the laptop speakers and my headphones. It was working perfectly fine last week. My laptop doesn't have a Realtek driver, it has IDT with beats. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the latest drivers, and if I had realtek i would be able to change the settings.
View 4 Replies View RelatedAfter I got my laptop, HP Envy 15 j000eb, back from the computer store where they put a new keyboard in it (spilled soup), I found that I cannot longer use my headphones: when I put my headphones into the audio jack, the sound keeps coming from the laptop speakers, and nothing is heard coming from the headphones (tried with several headphones, they work fine on other computers).
I updated the audio driver with a download found on the hp site [URL] but the problem stayed the same.
My audio worked just fine until before I gave my laptop in for reparation.
I have no sound, although everything tests fine and volume is changing. No sound from speakers or output to headphones. I have tried all invetigations, everything is OK including Windows Audio, set to automatic.

loss of sound from my inbuilt M 1330 XPS speakers. Sound working with headphones.
Tried uploading new sound drivers. Did upload and run R171186 and R153908. Didn't work?
Bought a new dv7-2000, custom built. Nothing spectacular
As soon as I received it, I formated the drive and installed Windows XP Pro SP3. So far so good. All drivers installed, everything working.
Except for one little detail : I have sound on subwoofer only, no speaker, not even on headphones, no matter what jack I plug in. Sub does turn off when I plug the headphones though.
I tried several IDT drivers, all act the same.
Also, this solution doesn't work:"All u need to do, is right click Communication headphones, and click Disable.right click Sound button on taskbar> playback devices now you have speakers and headphones selected as default device, and communication headphones seleted as default communication device."The communication headphones have been disabled, but the speakers still play alongside the headphones.
I think part of the problem is that the playback device is "Speakers and headphones", but I can't split this into two separate devices for the life of me. if I disable "Speakers and Headphones" and enable "Communication headphones", the problem fixes itself and then introduces new problems: certain programs requiring sound output do not work, and the volume-changing buttons on my keyboard don't change the volume.
I have IDT High-Definition Audio CODEC (as a driver?).I can't remember what I did before this happened. I suspect it was the audio driver update, but that's a wild guess.
I have a HP ENVY M6 Notebook, after I update my PC, there is no sound at all. It shows no speakers or headphones are plugged in. Also IDT High Definition Audio CODEC was disappear. How can I reinstall it?

When I plug in headphones, the onboard speakers still play.
Is there anything I can do or is something broken?
I have a brand new Yoga 2 Pro that has an audio jack problem. The internal speakers play audio just fine. When I plug in a pair of headphones into the jack on the right side of the unit, no audio comes out of the headphones. The internal speaker continues to produce audio as if there is nothing plugged in.
Failed solutions:
I've tried using various types of headphones. No change.
I tried re-downloading the audio realtek drivers from the lenovo website and re-installing them. No change.
I tried rolling back the audio driver to the Windows version. No change.
Is there anything else I can try? Non-working audio jack makes this a dealbreaker and I'll need to return the unit.
Update: According to Lenovo phone support, all my headphones are 3.5mm and they need to be 2.5mm. Frankly, I think they have it backwards and what I have are 2.5mm plugs, but either way I'm headed to radio shack to find an adapter to make this work.
I received my Inspiron 7537 1080 3 weeks ago. Everything works perfectly except the static noise after connecting headphones. Tried different headphones, latest drivers nothing worked. Dell has sent an engineer to look at the problem. He replaced entire motherboard but the noise is still there. I tried Bluetooth headphones and external sound card but this hissing noise is always there in the background. I am thinking about getting another one after refund but not sure if this static noise is present in all models or was this only one off.
