Dell :: RmClock Undervolting Not Working On Windows 7 32-bit

Feb 8, 2010

I've been using RmClock to undervolt my Dell Inspiron E1505 for awhile under Windows XP and its been great. But recently I went from XP to Windows 7 32bit, it stopped working. It'll just run the default voltages. I've tried running it under administrator and Windows XP compatibility mode but still doesn't work. I was wondering if anyone knows how to make it work under Windows 7 32bit?

Sony :: Replacing CPU In Vaio SR41 (T6400 -> P8800)

Aug 6, 2009

I'm currently thinking of buying a Sony SR series laptop, but unfortunately here in Sweden we only get two configurations:
Vaio SR49 - P8800, Radeon 3470 256MB
Vaio SR41 - T6400, Radeon 4750 512MB

Since I would like P8800+Radeon 4750, the only possible way seems to get a SR41 and upgrade the cpu. Has anyone here got any experience on upgrading a laptop CPU? More specifically, upgrading from a T-series to a P-series.

I guess they use the same motherboards, so I can't imagine it would be incompatible, but I'm wondering whether it requires any BIOS changes which would be hard to do in a laptop bios.

Sony :: Undervolting Core I7 On Z11

May 8, 2010

First things first: The new Z is the best laptop I've owned so far. End of story. Had MBP, MBA, AW m15x and several Dells, but nothing like this.

Second:
Im not a big fan of hardware overclocking/undervolting (anymore). (Referring to the "Insyde hacking" thread.)

Ok, with that in mind; how do I software undervolt the mobile core i7 processor?

Tried good old RMClock, which doesn't work. (It hasn't been updated for years, so I didn't expect it to).

CPUgenie... didn't work.

Crystal CPUID.. didn't work.

Now I'm out of own ideas, started searching. The only thing related to my "problem" (which actually isn't a problem, I'm just a big fan of undervolting and want it that way), is this thread:

ThrottleStop thread here on NBR.
Downloaded it, tried it... doesn't work. I don't get access to the voltages.

Dell :: New Latitude Model Numbers

Jan 3, 2010

This Dell document (which isn't that new) tends to confirm the assumptions about the numbering of the refreshes of the Latitude / Precision series.

The Dell Client Deployment Pack 1.0 supports the following Dell
systems:

Quote:

Latitiude Series
XT2, XT2 , XFR , D420 , D500 , C510 , Z600 , E5410 , E5510 , E5400
E5500 , LT , E4310 , E4300 , E6510 , E6500 , E4200 , XT , E6410
E6410 ATG , E6410 XFR , E6400 , E6400 ATG , XFR E6400

OptiPlex Series
160L , 780 , 780USFF , 380 , GX1 , 580 , 960 , 760 , 360 , 745 , 755
760 , 745c , xE , 980

Precision Series
M4500 , M4400 , 390 , M6300 , M4300 , T7400 , T5400 , M2300 , T7500
T500 , T3500 , M6400 , R5400 , M6500 , R5400 , T3400

This suggests that the Latitude numbers are what everyone assumed they would be. The M6500 has arrived but, so far, Google isn't unearthing anything about the E4310, E6410 and E6510.

HP/Compaq :: Part Numbers For NX7010 LCD Screen

Feb 7, 2010

I've had a flickering screen problem with my NX7010 for a while now and previously asked about it here:

What part do I need to fix the screen on my nx7010?

Since then I've changed both the LCD cable and the inverter but flickering problem has not gone away. I'm now assuming it's the backlight but as I've heard the backlight is very difficult to change, I'm hoping to pick up a cheap screen somewhere.

The service manual says these are the options for the NX7010

With carbon finish for use with
HP Compaq nx7000 notebooks
15.4-inch, WUXGA - 337006-001
15.4-inch, WSXGA+ - 337003-001
15.4-inch, WXGA - 337008-001

How do I know if my computer is WUXGA, WSXGA+ or WXGA? Are these interchangeable?

Also, I've looked on eBay and have seen LCDs with part number 337008-001 listed but they don't mention compatibility with the NX7010. They do say they are compatible though with the X1000. Since it's the same part number can I assume that the X1000 and NX7010 use the same screen?

Lastly, I've also seen screens listed on eBay with the part number SAMSUNG (LTN154X1 - L02) and again, it says compatible with 337008-001. Is this LT part number now also an option for me?

Dell :: E6500 TravelLite Module Part Numbers

Jun 5, 2009

The part numbers don't match up with what I see on the accessories site either. The latest one I received (on the left) looks like the one for the E6400 and carries a sticker with 0M011C-38561-87M-05FT-A00 on it. The ones on the right which didn't fit had 0H022G-69400-88U-01C0-A00 on the sticker. Can anyone confirm if the one on the left is in fact the proper one for the E6500?

Lenovo T400 / T500 :: T410i Numbers Don't Work Except 5 And 6

Apr 16, 2012

Having an issue with the normal numbers not working. This has nothing to do with them being dirty or needing to be replaced, nor is the number lock on. None of the numbers work except 5 and 6.

If i'm in firefox typing in the google search bar when i press 1 for example the keyboard will beep, firefox will go into full screen mode and the text box will start to auto-fill with 1111111111. it does this no matter what number is pressed; except 5 and 6.

Same goes if i'm in word, except it will bring up the save as box and start auto-filling in the fill name with 111111

The only way i can type 1 at present is to use the on-screen keyboard.

I've done the fn nmlk, capslk nmlk, combos and it's not bringing it back. I've rebooted and it's still the same.

I'm running on Win 7 pro

Lenovo 11e E/Edge :: 0302-2BU Missing BIOS UUID And Serial Numbers On ThinkPad

Dec 13, 2011

I am currently working on a ThinkPad Edge 15 0302-2BU for a client of mine. The system is able to POST and I can enter the BIOS but the UUID is all zeros and the Machine Type Model, System-unit serial number, and System board serial number are all blank.

I went to the support page for this model and downloaded the ISO file with bootable BIOS update utility for BIOS ver. 2.20 (82ET80WW) I updated the BIOS in case there were any issues with the current BIOS release. Rebooted then went to update the model number off the bootable utility. I entered the model number, Updated, and Rebooted again. Still having the same issue. The model number didn’t record after I punched it in.

I am still able to POST and get into the BIOS configuration. The system will not load an OS or boot off a CD into something like Windows PE.

I'm not sure if Windows not being able to load is due to the BIOS or not but I'm inclined to think so since I have trouble booting off CD.

Dell :: Undervolting My M4400

Dec 23, 2009

I want to undervolt my Presicion M4400 as per this guide:
The "Undervolting" Guide

A few questions as I embark!

1) Does it matter how much power my M4400 draws when I do this? That is if I later attach USB drives, add a 2nd hardrive to optical bay, should I take these into account? I assume no but just checking.

2) After doing the first stress test I got max temps of 76C on CPU, after lowering the max 10.0 multiplier voltage and running it for 10 min I got max temps of 79C. Something must be wrong?

In RMClock's CPU info page (see pic. 1) the "current" 10.0x multiplier reads 1.1250V when Im doing the stress test although I've set the 10.0 multiplier to 1.1500V (default max is 1.2500V) on the profile page (see pic 2).

Shouldn't the read outs correspond with the set max voltage? Also on the RMClock CPU info page (see pic. 1) the "maximal" 10.0x readout is 1.2500V which is again different from the set 1.1500V.

Is this normal or have the setting not been saved or something?

3) On the advanced CPU settings page my thermal monitoring is not checked (see pic 3) this differs from the Undervolting guide screenshots and is not specified if these should be on?
