Do outlet items have tracking numbers when they are shipped? It's been 3 days and it still says data unavailable. On the other hand, the S2009W I ordered with the XPS sale event had a tracking number the moment it shipped.

I plan on buying a Vostro 1310/20 or Latitude E4300 from the outlet after the Windows 7 free upgrade date (June 28th I believe). Will Windows 7 be a free upgrade for outlet purchases?

I am trying to provide remote support for my mother-in-law's Inspiron 8200. Last summer I put in a new HDD and maxed the RAM to get a couple more years out of it. I partitioned the drive into 10GB and 70GB. I installed Win XP home + all service packs and updates, prgrams etc. on C:.
I moved "My Documents" to the second partition, the drive letter ended up as E: for the second partition (optical drive is D. She only has about 3 GB of data so there should not be any issues.
She recently called saying that attempting to install TurboTax resulted in an insufficient disk space error. When I had her look into it, C: is almost full, 9.5GB used. This seems unreasonable to me. I have a couple of other laptops configured similarly and the OS and programs only take about 6.5GB. This lady is not one to install lots of stuff.
My daughter is there visiting so I had her read me the space taken by each folder in the C: partition. Adding up the numbers it seems that there is at least a couple of gig unaccounted for. Do I have to actually go into every folder to find any space hogs? Nothing I heard so far seems unreasonably large.
I am suspecting some kind of bug or spyware is creating a file that is consuming the space on C:. I had a problem with Zone Alarm 9 creating a ridiculous log file on one of my boxes but she is not running ZA.
E: has plenty of space only the 3GB of data in My Docs.
My status changed to shipped this morning at 8am, but I haven't been provided a tracking number to follow the package.
I'm shipping "Canada standard" or do you think something's up?
I got an Email saying it was shipped but no tracking number is there an automated system I can call in canada to get an update since the web side says NA?

This suggests that the Latitude numbers are what everyone assumed they would be. The M6500 has arrived but, so far, Google isn't unearthing anything about the E4310, E6410 and E6510.
I received two of the incorrect travellite modules from Dell so far and the third one seems a bit sketchy as it rattles around in the bay as if isn't quite tall enough. The part numbers don't match up with what I see on the accessories site either. The latest one I received (on the left) looks like the one for the E6400 and carries a sticker with 0M011C-38561-87M-05FT-A00 on it. The ones on the right which didn't fit had 0H022G-69400-88U-01C0-A00 on the sticker. Can anyone confirm if the one on the left is in fact the proper one for the E6500?
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn my Dell XPS 14z laptop, on certain websites when I go to type it comes out numbers going in numerical order. So if I type out 'Hello there' it would be 01234 56789 and the numbers would restart again from zero. This only happens on some websites such as Tinychat. On others like Facebook it's fine and types normally. I've already tried restarting my computer, and I don't see a num lock key.

I've had a flickering screen problem with my NX7010 for a while now and previously asked about it here:

Since then I've changed both the LCD cable and the inverter but flickering problem has not gone away. I'm now assuming it's the backlight but as I've heard the backlight is very difficult to change, I'm hoping to pick up a cheap screen somewhere.

How do I know if my computer is WUXGA, WSXGA+ or WXGA? Are these interchangeable?
Also, I've looked on eBay and have seen LCDs with part number 337008-001 listed but they don't mention compatibility with the NX7010. They do say they are compatible though with the X1000. Since it's the same part number can I assume that the X1000 and NX7010 use the same screen?
Lastly, I've also seen screens listed on eBay with the part number SAMSUNG (LTN154X1 - L02) and again, it says compatible with 337008-001. Is this LT part number now also an option for me?
I am doing a lot of work with excel spreadsheets and I was wondering if there was a keyboard shortcut in Numbers that is similar to Ctrl-Shift-down in excel. Basically a keyboard shortcut to select a full column of cell entries that have a value in it. I can't for the life of me find it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedHaving an issue with the normal numbers not working. This has nothing to do with them being dirty or needing to be replaced, nor is the number lock on. None of the numbers work except 5 and 6.
If i'm in firefox typing in the google search bar when i press 1 for example the keyboard will beep, firefox will go into full screen mode and the text box will start to auto-fill with 1111111111. it does this no matter what number is pressed; except 5 and 6.
Same goes if i'm in word, except it will bring up the save as box and start auto-filling in the fill name with 111111
The only way i can type 1 at present is to use the on-screen keyboard.
I've done the fn nmlk, capslk nmlk, combos and it's not bringing it back. I've rebooted and it's still the same.

I am currently working on a ThinkPad Edge 15 0302-2BU for a client of mine. The system is able to POST and I can enter the BIOS but the UUID is all zeros and the Machine Type Model, System-unit serial number, and System board serial number are all blank.
I went to the support page for this model and downloaded the ISO file with bootable BIOS update utility for BIOS ver. 2.20 (82ET80WW) I updated the BIOS in case there were any issues with the current BIOS release. Rebooted then went to update the model number off the bootable utility. I entered the model number, Updated, and Rebooted again. Still having the same issue. The model number didn’t record after I punched it in.
I am still able to POST and get into the BIOS configuration. The system will not load an OS or boot off a CD into something like Windows PE.
I'm not sure if Windows not being able to load is due to the BIOS or not but I'm inclined to think so since I have trouble booting off CD.

I'm trying to find info on an aspire... Not the model # itself as that is not the problem, but the sub model#...
The model is Acer Aspire 8930G, but the sub model # is 6963 and that is where my research seems to go dry... Does anyone have info on this sub model #?
Also i might ask is how user friendly is the 8930G for upgrades as for the processor and video? The current processor is the T5800 with the 9600m nvidia... Would it make sense to upgrade and what is the potential of this 8930G with the T5800?

i'm considering buying an e6400 from the outlet and i've been trying for days to find a configuration that i'm happy with. i've noticed that the hardest to get "right" are the screen and battery which is where this question comes in.
when i get an outlet "scratch/dent" or "cert refurb" are the batteries the original ones or are they new? i ask because if they're the old ones, there isn't too much of a point in getting a 9 cell over 6 cell because the batteries have probably lost a bit of capacity already.

I have a choice to buy an M4400 from either dell outlet or ascendtech for the same price; $900. However, the latter offers an core 2 extreme x9100
(instead of a 2.4 P from the outlet) but with only 30 days warranty! I hear that dell outlet offers 3 years warranty...
