"The normal processor temperature will depend on the chassis type, the hardware involved and the location of the computer, and it usually is lower than the Tcase."

Is there a place to find the "normal processor temperature" that Lenovo recommends for X Series laptops with various Intel CPUs operating at standard temperature (20 degrees Celcius)?Â
Â
Here is an answer for the W Series. Â Is it the same as for the X Series?
after few seconds of heavy CPU usage on my x230 termal sensors show temperature slightly above 100 degrees celsius. I think it's way to high and probably should call the service to replace the fan, clean the heatsink etc, but wanted to make sure. For comparison, my previous machine (x201) did not ever go above 85 degrees during similar tasks.

HWMonitor reports the constant 10 degrees Celsius difference between Core0 and Core2.
Core2 has the idle temperature of 40 degrees Celsius. Core0 has the idle temperature of 30 degrees Celsius
I have been trying to determine the highest SAFE temperature for my SONY VAIO VGN-N105N.
It seems that should be a fairly easy question to answer, but darned if I can find anything on it.
If the laptop is no load and the temperature of 45-50 С (Celsius) (113-122 F)
But if you include the game, can be heated to 65-70 C (149-158 F)
Is this normal? should be lubricated with a laptop?
My current CPU temp is around 61 degrees C with the CPU load @ 100%. I clean it petty often and I just recently (around 2 months ago) applied silver compound to the heatsink. Even though the fan is on, how come it will not go faster than "slow"? I can set it to high, but why doesn't it do it automatically? Is this normal for my 9300?

HWMonitor 1.15
CPU 54 to 58 - (T6400)
GPU 59 to 65 - (9600M GT)
Nvidia System Tools 6.05 (November Release)
CPU 58 to 62 - (T6400)
GPU 59 to 65 - (9600M GT)
Does the T6400 appear to be high? My friends P7350 reads around 30. Also Note the difference between System Tools and HWMonitor for CPU. For Windows 7 my GPU runs with a lower end on the range (Windows 7 - 9600M GT GPU = 54 to 65).
Note Also - Running the 9600M GT GPU flat out (100% usage) using Nvidia CUDA to encode HD video the 9600M GT GPU hits a maximum of 67 (according to GPU-Z 0.38, HWMonitor and Nvidia System Tools).
What do people think and what temps are you getting?
My SZ430 has been a workhorse for me for 3+ years and I m now looking into the replacement of either Z or Y series....
Problem I have is I have 2 docking stations for my SZ in my home and office and would like to know if I can reuse those for the new Z or Y series.
Why does HWMonitor and HWiNFO32 report very different temperatures on my Dell XPS m1530
View 10 Replies View RelatedBasically I've been messing around with the OCing of my CPU since I've finally got all my temperature issues sorted. Firstly, I notice that my CPU temps at times are erratic, jumping/falling up to 10C at a time. Is this normal?
Secondly, my CPU temps after a short gaming session were
CPU1: 66C/ CPU2: 80C
This seems a bit strange to me. Does anyone know why CPU2 might be so much warmer?
Thirdly, related to the above, is 80C @ 3.4GHz good, bad or average? If I was running at 80C for hours can I expect this to do any damage? I know the CPU can handle up to 105C, however that doesn't mean something below can't cause damage. Confirmation on this would be great :-)
I have had my XPS M1530 for about 13 months now, never had a problem with it so far, however I am getting a little worried about some of the temperatures over the past few days.
I have been playing Fallout 3 and Anno 1404 a fair amount for the past week or two everything seems good, however my temperatures seem to be getting a fair bit higher than they were a couple of months back (May-ish) when I last spent a good amount of time looking at temperatures.
For example I played Anno1404 for about 3 hours on Saturday followed by 4 hours of Fallout 3 and the CPUs got to the high 80s and the GPU touched 95C! THM_ (from HWMonitor) hit 100C!
Now obviously I'm a little worried, it was pretty warm when I was playing (25C), but the thing that baffles me the most is that this has only been happening over the past week or so, before then my CPU rarely broke 80C and the GPU 85C. There also seems to be a loudish 'click' from the HDD when I turn off the laptop when it has been on for a fair while, again, this has only happened over the past few days.
I do have a question about the CPU temperature. I'm using CPUID HArdware Monitor (under 32bit Vista)to monitor the temperature and I am pretty concerned about constantly working fan (even when the cpu temperature is under 50 C).
The threshold under which the system goes dead silent is 44-46 C. Is that normal?
I`ve bought a M1530 in december, it was fine till february when the termal paste had become bad the temps were at about 50 C idle and 80 on load, I replaced it with MX2 Arcgic Cooling and went 8-10 C lower. But Everest and other software detect AUX Temp?
Idle 60- on load 100C and the temp from 100C drops down in a seconds to 60C when I switch from Counter-Strike to Desktop. My question is what is this AUX and should I be worried. It looks like a component with bad cooling.
I'm in a bit of a jiffie, my 1330 had some problems with overheating so I formatted but it turned out it was a piece of dirt stuck in the fan, anyways problem solved.
I thought.
Now, I get the slowdowns again, albeit not that severe. Now, when I open hwmonitor it only shows my CPU, HDD and ACHP. The GPUs temp won't show up.
I installed ntune, nada, same thing. What could be the problem, is the temperature measuring thingy broken I'm kind of worried that my 8400m gs is dying on me since it was a pos to begin with but I really dont feel like sending in my laptop.
This is probably the one hundred and second thread on this subject, but after searching for similar threads, I just couldn't get a straight answer.
The temperature of my Geforce Go 7950 GTX reaches almost 100 degress celsius (97 to be exactly, but I'm pretty sure if I let the stress-test run for a couple of more minutes it'll get that hot).
I don't have a problem with this, but since this is my second videocard (the first one died after three years, I guess due to overheating issues), I would like to know if I may expect this to happen again.
So, for all of the M1710 owners out here: what are your GPU temperatures after stressing it for, let's say 10 minutes, with Furmark (stresses your GPU really really hard)?
Please mention them in celsius, and with what program you read out the temps (some programs, like i8kfanGUI deducts 8 degrees of the real temperature).
There was a poll for idle temps, but I am more interested in your values for max temp for the GPU.
Setting: 8 mins of running Rthdribl on a M1330; HWMonitor read-out for max. GPU temp in Celsius.
Mine would be 104°C. After another 2mins the GPU clocked down, resulting in "only" 98°C.
I downloaded the program "HW monitor" to monitor the temperature of various components. What are the normal ranges for CPU, video, and HD?
View 10 Replies View RelatedThe temperature of the processor goes up over 80'c when I do intensive things, like MP3 encoding or Half Life 2.
The CPU in my TX2 is a Turion X2 RM-72. So what I am wondering, is what is the thermal design of this processor? The processor in my Asus (Core 2 Duo) only hits about 60'C when under extreme load. Main thing I am asking is, is it safe to run the processor under such load? I mean the Turion X2.
It makes me very nervous to see such high temperatures, even when at idle its 47'C.
One thing that just came to mind, is the possibility of the location of the thermistor. I suppose if its located closer to the core it could read much higher, faster. Only thing I'm thinking about, is eventually the temperature should read higher anyway if that is the case. Over time the cooling system would gradually become warmer.
Anyway, all I'm wondering is is it safe? Idle temperature seems pretty normal to me, 47'c, but 80'c is quite high for load temperature.
it is indeed handy to have coolbook on the menu bar and it shows that at the time when temperature went up to 80~90; the cpu was running at full speed.
at the task i was running where i underclock down to even 800mhz things were fine, but it just shot up to 2.5k ghz for no reason.
and after locking at the range of 800-1600, the temperature did indeed dropped to a more desirable temperature of 60 but still sticked to the upper limit at 1600 w/out reason.
all temperatures stated are Celsius.
there weren't any cpu intensive tasks running either; once again, i turned off everything after seeing the temperature went up.
since it has nothing to do with the GPU(every unibody mac user love to say this, but no, not the gpu this time.
for those who didn't know what happened prior; my macbook pro loves heat and more so reaching 80~90 w/out reason. venting is clean enough there is no visible dust gathered, it had been used with a cooler at home so it wouldn't be the entrapment from desktop material either.
What is the safe operating temperature for my notebook? Â At what temperature can I expect the system to slowdow (as self-protection)? Â Does that temperature suggest I need to open up the laptop and clean it?
Â
I checked the Intel website, but they don't include a useful temperature number for this model, that is no "case temp #", the only number is the tJunction, which is 105 Celcius, which must be meltdown temperature. Â I've had some unusual behavior at much lower temperatures. Â Including image of temperature diagnostic tools with must-be-bad-flame symbol. Â I read on en.kioskea.net that safe temp for i5 is 70 celcius, and 100 for latops - that's really hot.

So I know this program basically tortures your graphics card but how hot should it get on a stability test in 'Xtreme Burning Mode'? I just had my motherboard/GPU replaced so I am running some tests. After a few minutes of this test it reaches 90 degrees celcius. Isnt that crazy hot?

Anyhow, I installed HWMonitor and basically I get temps averaging in the low-mid 70s and sometimes in the 80s. The highest it has ever gone since installing it two weeks ago was 84 C.
So at what temps exactly should I start to get worries are 70s bad?
Then my external hard drive has decided to give me corrupt errors so I cant even backup my files now ...
When i changed to 185.85 i noticed that the temperature of my video card lowered. Now im moving to 186.81. Do you think its a good decision, or know a better driver?

a good Temperature monitor for my dell studio laptop. I would just like to keep an eye on the GPU and CPU.
View 10 Replies View RelatedIt seems that everybody who owns an XPS M1530 has an extremely varied set of temperatures for their GPU and CPU. Now, I am a complete freak about my temps, constantly checking them and always worried they are too high. I scour the notebook review pages looking for a benchmark set of temps, but everyone either has overheating problems warranting a nice replacement (CPU 80+ GPU 90+), or they have chilled out systems that sound very cool (CPU< 69 GPU
