Sony :: Sprint WWAN On Window 7 64bit For Z
Nov 13, 2009I've been searching around but am having a hard time finding the answer to this one. Does anyone have built-in Sprint WWAN working on their Z (mine is a Z540) in Windows 7 64bit?
I can toggle Wireless WAN on and then see 4 Data Interface items listed in Device Manager that need drivers....

Nov 27, 2009I've decided to activate SPRINT net on my TZ298 as my new job requires me to be in contact with my costumers most of the day either > SKYPE/Email.
-The staff at the store told me that the services were duly activated and gave me a couple of codes PTN/LOCK CODE/MSID.
-I've tried to my best to get connected as the process seems to be pretty much straight forward but I guess I am missing something.

Apr 3, 2009im considering buying a Vaio Z from the US.
But since I live in Denmark (europe) and would very much like to use the build-in broadboard, i have my doubts that this will work?
Do the build-in card also support the european WWAN network, can it be unlocked from sprint or can the card be replaced?

May 6, 2009Ive just installed Windows 7 RC1 on my lovely Vaio TT VGN-TT11VN/X
Everything looks good, wifi quickly working but one thing i found doesnt work is the 3g smartcard internet access
Ive tried installing all the drivers, it recognises the Globetrotter Smartcard reader installed but then says cant install drivers when trying to install the software
Im running Windows 7 RC1 x64 bit version to take advantage of the 4GB ram
Anyone had any luck getting WWAN running?

Nov 1, 2009last month I upgrade the HSDPA board to the Vaio VGN-Z790LDX in order to use any sim card from any international cellphone company and it worked at first attempt .
now I just replaced the IFX-517 and the wwan to the Vaio VGN-TT290NBX and I have installed one IFX-517 having the sim card slot and I placed the unlocked wwan GTM382.
anyone did the same upgrade?
which driver are the best in order to make it working properly?
I am asking this because I did try to install the Option driver /Globe Trotter Connect and the Vaio Smart Network but for many times it was not succefully done .
the first times the minicard was in the device manager list but just till the laptop was on.......and after restart it was not there .
now finally after many times removing the driver and the minicard the system is working but I don't know for how long........
now I am wondering that I did mistake at the beginning because I mixed sony driver and Option drive and software.............in few words I made a Cocktail,
Sony :: Where To Find Unlocked WWAN Gobi 2000 For New Vaio Z
Mar 11, 2010I will soon receive new vaio Z from Japan. As some of you know WWAN modem in Japan is locked to NNT Docomo. Japanese model has sim card slot but it's currently impossible to unlock Gobi 2000 card. In Europe vaio Z comes with same card unlocked.
On ebay you can buy unlocked Gobi 2000 puled from HP,Lenova or Acer. I wonder if those card will work in Sony laptops. Where can I buy unlocked Gobi 2000 that will work with sony laptops?

Sony :: TT Series- Switched The WAN To Verizon Instead Of Sprint
May 10, 2009I have had my txn-15p for a couple of years now, and it's starting to get old. I am looking at the TT series, but the problem is that they have switched the WAN to Verizon instead of sprint, while I am not contractually obligated to sprint, I still have fully unlimited data plan instead of the limited to 5gb that both sprint and verizon now use. My question is the WAN module in the TT series( specifically 190 custom order) soldered on the board or is it a mini-pci card that can be "easily" switched out with say the mini pci card from a u720 aircard. also has anyone disassembled a TT series.

The driver installed fine on my E6400 (running 64 bit Windows 7), but Wireless Manager (downloaded from Sony Ericsson website) stopped working saying it can't find any wireless device (probably because it can't recognize the new driver)..
Then I went to get Control Point Connection Manager and noticed that there's none for Windows 7. So how do you use the WWAN card without a client?..

May 2, 2009I'm trying to update my Sony VAIO VGN-CR510D/W graphic's driver (GM965). Intel's site has the newest one 7.15.10.1666 and mine is currently at 7.14.10.1295. I go to "Update Driver" in my Device Manager but It does not find a new one. I downloaded the new one manually but it won't let me install it (Not supported). I am running Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Jan 20, 2009I recently downgraded my sony vaio from Vista to Xp. And with the help of this site and others, have tracked down nearly all of the drivers needed to make it work. The only thing I am having problems with is the sound card. In the device manager, it shows that the SigmaTell High Definition Audio Codec has an error code 10 (will not start) I am not sure what else to try to cure this and get sound back on the laptop.

Feb 26, 2010I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS93S laptop. It is about 4-5 years old. I bought it in Thailand so I think it is a Sony Asian region model.
I installed Windows 7 on it today without any problems. It runs fine, but I am having some driver problems as expected. Even though there are a couple of red lights in the Device Manager, all my hardware is working fine except for the wireless network card. I don’t mind the errors in the Device Manager as long as everything works somehow. But I also can’t get the function keys working on the laptop, which I would like to have working too.
I called Sony in Thailand and they said the laptop is too old so Sony won’t be supporting it with new drivers for Windows 7.
Are there any Windows 7 drivers from other Vaio models which might be compatible with my laptop?

Sony :: Vaio Z11 Noise Cancellation Driver
Mar 29, 2010I've noticed on several occasions that the sound output is not restored after unplugging the noise-cancelling headphones. Volume up and down (via FN key) have no impact. Usually, Muting and then Unmuting resolves the issue, which seems to point to a driver issue.
