May 11, 2009Has anyone managed to view Blue-Ray disks with the above combination ? Seems WMP needs a codec to play such disks.

View 4 RepliesMost functionality is provided by installing the Firmware Extension Parser (SODSNC-14727000-64) followed by Sony Notebook Utilities (SOAOTH-43900000-64) I added the Upek and Touchpad drivers and that was about it !
However there is no CF support - anyone know what driver is responsible for this slot ?
I wanted to buy a laptop from a local dealer. Its a Sony Vaio AGN-AW11Z pre-installed with Windows Vista. I hate Vista. So I requested that he downgrades it to Windows XP SP2.
He called back and said he cant find all the hardware drivers for XP. Has anybody been able to downgrade this notebook successfully? If so where can one get the drivers?
I recently upgraded my operating system from vista home premium to windows 7 RC1. Few of the obstacles I faced were:
Screen resolution would not increase above 1024x768 and Aero was stuck in basic mode - both fixed by updating nVidia driver
Media Control on the left doesnt work - currently i got the mute button to work, however
I have no volume control. Tried installing Acer empowering technology which failed to work under the operating system under various compatibility modes.
i Have Sony Vaio VGN-AW11Z/B

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent the damage.

1st blue screen, windows 7 shut down unexpectedly
2nd blue screen, windows 7, don't really know since I went to out and find out when I start the pc, it said shut down unexpectedly,
3rd blue screen, windows 7 close/shut down by itself while i was running VLC and utorrent, and it when to the screen where we can choose start windows with safe mode or normal...
I don't know what is happening with this blue screen problem, since this is my first experience with this trouble,
Is it software/drive issue or hardware?
Should I restore it to factory setting?
I think it it shutdown by itself, every time i use Google Chrome and utorrent.....
I formatted windows on my M1330 and tried installing XP x86 however when i put the disk in and boot from CD it starts the windows process and when it says 'Windows is starting..
it will hang there for 40 seconds then a blue screen will appear saying..
i've frequantly had this problem , when i start my laptop ( hp pavilion 15n021se ) on the lock screen when i'm going to click to enter my password , just after moving mouse cruser i get the blue screen saying that the error is " invalid process attachment attempt "
Â
i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .
Â
i've installed the latest version of the driver (sp64225)Â , and it doesn't suitable for my windows so i want a previous version of the driver

View 5 Replies View RelatedI purchased a Sony VAIO VGN-NW270F/S with a blue ray player. Im trying to play the blue ray using the HDMI out to my Sony 46 inch HDTV, i got an error. After tech support with Sony, I basically am using my tv as a monitor and playing the blue ray there. My question is, what resolution is the blue ray playing in on my TV? The maximum resolution I could choose on the computer is 1366/768....how can i use the Blue Ray in my computer to play the full HD movie on my TV?
View 8 Replies View RelatedBought the white Sony CPCCW17FX from Best Buy for my wife. She's been really happy with the laptop. Only problem is she's has had occasional blue screens. It's being caused by some conflict with the display driver.
We're running the 186.47's that are provided on the Sony site. Laptop doesn't want to accept the mobile drivers off the Nvidia site. This is obviously the 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.
I got a FW590GJB. it was originally win 7 64bit installed. after a week i saw that wile i am in windows, the screen turns to black and comes to normal again with balloon error: "The ATI drives was stopped responding and successfully recovered". I didn't care. but after a month, i saw "blue screens" while using windows, and recently it happens on start up. before each blue screen there are noisy lines on screen. the colors mix and system hangs. and eventually "blue screen" comes and restarts the system. I downloaded several versions of my ATI 4650 Driver (8.36 - 8.56 - 8.65), no changes...
I used recovery dvds. it even doesn't let me finish the recovery process and crash lines happen and restarts the system... I tried win 7 32bit. same thing happened. This time I could install the windows but when desktop comes, it last for only about 2 minutes, and then the screen mixes the colors and blue screen again...
I installed Vista 32 bit. it works with no problems. I also installed XP 32bit, it worked with no problems. but i want to have win 7 64 bit on my system... what is the problem with win 7 and my system?
I have a problem with my studio 1525, whenever I run windows update and try to restart after, i get a blue screen of death, the i have to run recovery manager to get running again.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI keep getting blue screens complaining about igdpmd64.sys x00000050. I noticed on the day that I suddenly started getting blue screens Windows installed a bunch of windows 7 x64 updates. Does the recent windows updates can cause this?Â
Â
At times I cannot even reboot normally when it occurs. I have had to restore to a previous version.
, I've been having BSOD over and over again. I am using Windows 7 (32-bit) on my HP 14-d008AU. I have been also looking for answers around the web, tried everything and I'm still getting this BSOD.Â
Â
It pretty looked like this (I guess).
Blue screen since I bought this laptop with windows 8 OS (3 months):
I already ran:
- Intel® Driver Update Utility
-Repair-install the  operating system (Original Dell Image) for 2times
- All windows updates done
         - Update the DELL BIOS version
        - Ran DELL PC Check Up – Hardware Diagnostics
-Â Â Ran anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spyware, etc.
-Â Ran HW monitor to check temperatures, all normal
-Â Ran Advanced SystemCare 6 for windows optimization and registry fix.
… and the the blue screens didn’t stop!!!. Usually I get one for day.
Normally I get this blue screens even when laptop is notbeing run any program. By the details look that is related with an app. But theolder critical events sometimes don’t give so many details.
This laptop a bad historical. In less than 3 months alreadyhad two times the hard-disk replaced.
I have Latitude E5520 i5 with 8GB RAM+ HD 500MB, BIOS Version A12
I tried to install WINDOWS 7 32/64 Bit but i get blue screen in the end of installation.
All Windows, drivers and antivirus are updated and free of virus and/ro coruped files. Chekdisk reports no problem. cannot read Mini DUMP files. Blue screen to quick to read.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've had my XPS 17 for a week and have run into problems. Initially, I had no problems but two days after owning the machine, picked up the first: I opened up the laptop lid and was met by a message, the gist of which was 'Windows has recovered from a blue screen error' . I rebooted and put that message in my 'lets wait and see if that happens again' memory bank.
Things went well after that until I tried installing and using a game, which would have been the first time I'd used my GT 555M graphics card in anger. Installation went well but after starting the game, the screen started flickering, messages started appearing in the bottom right hand corner of the screen saying 'graphics has malfunctioned but recovered', or something to that effect, then the laptop crashed.
I tried updating drivers (I'm 100% sure they were compatible with my card) and this made my laptop even more unstable, throwing freeze after freeze, blue screen after blue screen and refusal to boot or shut down at me.
I decided to start from scratch and did a complete factory settings restore and upon first switch on (the laptop does it's 'setting up for first use' routine) was met with a blue screen error. The error details were as follows:
Problem signature: Problem Event Name:   BlueScreen OS Version:   6.1.7601.2.1.0.768.3 Locale ID:   2057Additional information about the problem: BCCode:   116 BCP1:   FFFFFA800BF95010 BCP2:   FFFFF8800F438EA8 BCP3:   0000000000000000 BCP4:   0000000000000002 OS Version:   6_1_7601 Service Pack:   1_0 Product:   768_1
The laptop then rebooted itself and seemed to run just fine. I checked the device manager and it appears windows has shut down my GT 555M card as it was reporting problems.
I ran Dell diagnostics prior to the full factory restore and beside the fact it didn't pick up the GT 555M (it did test the Intel HD3000 and that was fine), it said all was fine.
I have just rerun the diagnostics after the restore and it seems the DVD drive is now having issues too:
OPU Test - not supported
Spindle Test - not supported
Tray Out Test - not supported
My machines details:
Model Dell System XPS L702X
Operating System Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (64-bit)
I was playing a game and alt tabbed then i got a blue screen and my computer restarted. After it restarted a  blue screen popped up saying activate windows now. What should i do and how do i fix this , because of this my office stopped working as well.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI own a Sony Vaio VGN NS190D and recently I've been receiving a "dumping physical memory error". Since I've always been able to restart and start working again, I've never paid it any mind. Just today though, I had a BSOD and no matter how many times I try, it wont go past that. I've tried the start-up repair and starting in safe mode but it still blue screens.
This is what appears:
wimFsf.sys
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFA6003F23E22, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFFA60016985EE, 0x0000000000000000)
I replaced the screen on this FW and installed a OS every thing was fine for a wile then it would act like it cuts in and out then out for good i can see small light blue screen when it turns on , i connected it to my desktop monitor and every thing is fine shows up good, could the ribbon on the back of the screen be mis aligned or something , i checked under the keyboard and every thing seems fine there
Also i see the wireless button is not working and it states turn on the wireless but with the button not working , how do you go about turning it on ,, must be a physical connection to it, any easy fixes with out tearing it down ?
i have a FW290 CTO that is about a month old. since today, i havent been able to watch a dvd or any blu-ray movie. when i put in a dvd i got this message:
Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.
so after this message, i tried to put in my dark night blu-ray disc and my intervideo BD player would not work.
what happend?
what do i do?
edit: when i try to run a BD it states " your display environment does not support protected content playback.
i used to be able to play the BDs...what happend?
