I installed Win 7 Prof 64B on my Vaio Z4 and I have some problems with some games. I cannot play them because the get minimized into the bar after starting them
Jumping back vai ALT+TAB or clicking on the item in the bar just jumps back to desktop after some screen flicking.
All driver are installed correctly and erverythinge else works fine. Newest Bios is installed
I have the Pavilion g7-2235dx with Windows 8.1 operating system. Nearly every automatic update messes up my ability to get on the internet. The only way I can connect is to uninstall all of the updates. The icons on my desktop also stopped working. When I click on them, it goes right back to desktop. Can't pin them to the taskbar either. The ones on the taskbar won't open by clicking on them either. Have to right click and tell it to open. Also problem getting my Norton anti-virus to open. Says it working but can't open it.
I have a dell inspiron N7110 laptop with windows 7 and my cursor keeps jumping back while I am typing. I have unchecked the enhance pointer precision box.Â
I have an Inspiron Windows-8 (pro) laptop, that I purchased on 3/23/13. One strange issue I've noticed, is when I'm in a Windows-8 app (i.e. Mail), I'll start to move the cursor (via the touch-pad) to perform an action (like delete), and then all of a sudden, I'm "switched" into Desktop mode. Sometimes the OS flips back and forth between the app and whatever I was on previously (usually the Desktop). Is this a
1) keyboard issue, 2) a touch-pad issue, 3) a Dell issue (defect, or driver issue), or 4) a Windows-8 issue, or 5) something I'm not aware of?Â
It doesn't happen all the time, but is frustrating when it does. I usually have to close the app, go back to the Windows "metro" screen, and re-launch the app.Â
I just want to warn you that you can never play games using Sony VAIO Keyboard, I tested all New VAIO models at store, and they all have the same Keyboard issue, and that's: Let's try FIFA 09 for example, while playing you'll see that there is a problem in the keyboard, when holding arrows Down and Right or Down and Left together to move players, then any letter button to (pass, sliding tackle, sprint or whatever else), the game doesn't response to the letter press.
To confirm that issue, open Word or NotePad, hold Down and Right or Down and Left together, then a letter button for example "s", the letter "s" isn't printed.
So you can never play games using Sony VAIO Keyboard, you have to get a GamePad or an external keyboard.
I was just sitting there browsing the internet and the damn thing just shut off and now it won't turn back on. The battery was totally charged... so does that just mean it's fried or what? It's a year and a half old so .
I have a HP 2000t-2d00 Notebook PC with Windows 8.1 operating system. The computer was repaired recently, but when I bought it, it had originally came with the HP Quick Start icon (square blue tile-like appearance with the rocket/NOT a shortcut with an arrow in it!)  After it was repaired, the original official HP Quick start icon was on the desktop. However, something happened, and the original official HP Quick Start icon is gone from the desktop!how to get the original HP Quick Start icon (square blue tile-like in appearance with the rocket) back onto my desktop.how to create a shortcut! I'm admittedly picky and like to have certain things on the desktop exactly the way they were when I first got the computer.
Has anyone had issues with their DV5 with a Nvidia 9600mGT ? and FPS issues? I am playing DoDS, and for the last while (since I had my DV5 repaired by HP) My FPS in games always drops then comes back up and then drops again. I have installed many drivers with a clean driver install. (Used driver sweeper) I have even went as far as completing a whole system recovery again, to still run into these issues. It has become so bad, It ruins all gaming for me. Also, I think i have notice big CPU spikes, which might be causing issues... the specs are in my sig,.
First, please move my thread to more apropriate part of the forum if moderators think it does not belong here.
Today, my SZ6 died, seems like mobo is dead.
But I urgently need a computer to work on, in a few hours. It would be really good if I could put HDD from laptop into my desktop and boot from it, but trying so did not work - BSOD and reset.
I think the problem is chipset which was Intel on my laptop and is VIA on my desktop .....
I bought a new Sony Vaio SR a couple of days ago and just received it today, everything is great except for an extremely obnoxious bar on the desktop, and I have no idea if it's something installed by Sony, or if it's a Windows 7 thing. I would just like it to be gone.
You can't right click it to bring up a menu, and image in the top right corner just shrinks it down and allows you to move it. But you can't drag it into the recycle bin or anything. And to make things better: you can only add stuff to it, you can't drag things out.
My keyboard has stopped wanting to type any key back to back without a pause (whether it's a letter or delete or backspace). So if I'm typing a word with two letters that are consecutive, I have to pause or forget and backspace (which I can only do once also without a pause). It's also started this slight click/beep that happens usually in conjunction with the error although sometimes not. And, the click/beep isn't consistent (or at least I haven't found it's rhythm yet).
I noticed that alot more games are available for mac now than there used to be so I was wondering if I play the same game in windows vs OSX will there be a difference?
I mainly install bootcamp and win 7 for games only on my macbook pro but maybe I wont do that this time if the games run just as good in OSX.
I have my destop wallpaper/background set to change every 30 minutes, pulling from the entire picture library (which is a few gigabytes). I have noticed that every now and then...say, maybe 10-20% of the time. The desktop background goes completely black after the switch. This happens whether the switch is set to Auto or I manually flip the switch (which makes sense, actually).
The only thing that restores the picture to view is logging off and back on. None of the following have any impact or cause the picture to display:Right-clicking on the desktop and selecting.....
I have a VaiO SZ 75 G/N, and it has a recovery partition, which is hidden as you know. Recently, I just bought a new HDD and I replaced it with the original HDD, which contains the recovery partition. Now I use the ori HDD as external HDD but I want to copy the recovery partition out as the back up of the original windows and settings.
My Vaio crashes while playing 3D intensive games like, L4D, Crysis, Crysis Warhead, CoD WaW. After playing about 1~2 hours or so.
No other application causing this, so I suspect the GPU. Here are the details:
Symptoms:Screen quickly fades out to either dark grayish black, or white. Some scratchy sounds on the background.Barely visible waves moving upside-down on the screen (like when you cannot get a clear signal on TV).2 or 3 vertical thin noises on the screen.Cannot exit to desktop, have to cold boot the PC
Specs: Sony Vaio VGN-FW93XS 16.4"Core2Duo T9900 3.06 GhzATI Radeon Mobility HD 4650 1GB (with the latest Catalyst drivers installed)4 GB RamDirectX 10Vista Home Premium x64 Other info:GPU temp before gaming: 45~50, during gaming: 68~75 CelsiusCPU temp before gaming: 35~40, during gaming: 65~70 CelsiusPlaying with high settings (e.g. "Gamer" in Crysis) with no performance issues whatsoever until crash. From what I gathered, those temps are not way too high, and the PC should hold well.
After I put my laptop on sleep mode and shut the lid down, I always see the computer turn back on automatically after only a few minutes (I can hear the laptop working and the light turns green, although the monitor remains off).
Why is this so? The laptop also seems to turn off after a while it is turned back on from sleep mode.
I also notice my Z having a particular video error at times. That is, sometime, the laptop monitor turns black for a few seconds, turns back on at the highest brightness setting, and a error message pops up saying something about how it was unable to find a driver.
I am most likely going to throw on my 64bit version I got this week, what "gotchas" have you guys run into when moving to 64 bit? Did most of your programs work ok? It looks like 64 bit drivers are available for all the hardware on my M1530 (video, audio, wifi, touchpad, fingerprint reader, etc)
I am mainly running Office 2007, firefox, Call of Duty 5, Steam (cod4), and the software for my Merc Zboard.
just wanted to learn from the experiances of all you people who have already made the switch.
did you guys notice much of a performance boost with that extra .5 gigs of RAM available to windows? I doubt I ever used the full 3.5 gigs that my 32 bit OS uses but then again I'm not sure.
Trying to get rid of these questionably useful programs -- but I don't see entries for them in add/remove programs in the control panel (or for any of the other useless VAIO software packages that come on OEM machines sans "fresh start")
I am having a problem with my 9 month old Dell XPS 1530. When I type for a while (a paragraph or so) the cursor will inadvertently “jump” from the end of the sentence where I am typing to somewhere in the middle of the paragraph. This is a real annoyance and at first I thought I might be hitting a key on the keyboard causing this. However, I gave the laptop to my father in law and had him use it for a short while. He experienced the same thing at least 6 times over the period of 10 minutes. I guess I’m going to have to call Dell,
I just received an XPS 15 this week and the touchpad is really really jumpy.I can't scroll at all without it jumping around. Also, is there a way to enable 1 finger scrolling, I don't seem to have an option to do so in the settings.
I have an XPS 1730 and recently the CPU will jump to 100% usage while just watching dvd's and not doing anything really intensive. The laptop will become very slow, usually having to restart to resolve the problem
I've tried doing a fresh install of vista 32 ultimate with all the latest drivers installed and lastest A10 bios yet i'm still having problems. Also bios defaults have been loaded.
I've ran the dell diagnostics cd, done the full system test and many of the other tests you can do and not one has failed.
All Tempatures seems to be ok aswell.
Anyone have any similar problems or have any ideas what the problem could be?
The laptop is no longer in warranty so i can't really contact dell about this.
I recently did a clean install of windows 7 and ofcourse lost the mousepad scroll functions as well as the blue function buttons to alter brightness, change magnification, etc. How can I go about getting these back because im thinking of selling it soon and I will need the standard features working?
My laptop is a Vaio VGN - FW3 custom build - Core 2 duo 2.66GHz - 16.4" 1080P X-black screen - 4GB Ram - Ati HD3650 512mb GDDR3 - 320GB HDD (5200rpm) - Blu-ray disc player built in
If she slides her finger on the touchpad suddenly jumps over with 2 - 3 cm or across the screen, or if she wanna click on something jumps over or just simply she cant move on a button because it's "shakes" around ... Sometimes I feel like "somebody" controls her laptop with an another mouse.  To find out that's the windows 8 's problem or the touchpad's problem we bought a microsoft wireless mouse and it worked without any problem...  I uninstalled the touchpad driver , tried to disable and enable but nothing worked for me....
