is there any new lauch manager setup for windows 7 ?
I am having trouble getting launch manager to work on my TM8200 with WIN7 Enterprise. I have the three buttons working with the programs that I prefer, but, even though it is a small problem, I would like to program the email button to check for mail and blink when I have mail, just like it did in the 'old' days.
I know that the Launch Manager program is on the computer, because I programmed the keys, but I can't open it anymore. Double clicking on all the .exe files in Launch Manager get me nowhere.
I just upgraded my 8200 to Win 7 Enterprise. After formatting my HD, all drivers were installed automatically except the drivers for the the three programmable buttons next to the power button. Even without the driver, the mail and internet buttons work, but they cannot be reprogrammed. I have tried to download from Acers site, but they don't have a driver for 7 yet. The XP and Vista drivers did not work with Win7.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI bought my Acer 3810TG a month ago with Vista pre-installed and recently upgraded to Windows 7. The only problem now is that the brightness icon has disappeared (when I press Fn+left/right arrows), every other icon is working fine though.
Anyway when I looked in the Launch Manager folder, there's a folder called OSDRC with pictures of the icons, where I noticed the brightness icons were missing.
I've tried reinstalling Vista, sent it back to Acer, installing the newest/previous versions of Acer Launch Manager but neither helped.
Is it possible that someone whose brightness icons are working can upload them here or have another solution to get them back?
I have a Acer 6935G which I have recently installed Windows 7 on (x64). Windows found most of the drivers, audio included. I then downloaded the Windows Vista version of Launch Manager (version 2.0.0.2), and installed - and yes, everything worked great.
That is, until I found I had an issue with my microphone in Skype. I had ALOT of audio noise coming through when using the mic... I realised this was because the gain was up too high, however to reduce the microphone gain (or boost), it was impossible with the stock Windows 7 drivers.
So? I went to Realtek's website and downloaded the newest Realtek HD Audio driver - for Windows 7. I installed this, and then low and behold, in the Audio manager, I found that the mic boost was set to +20db! I removed this boost, and my audio issues were fix! Horray... Or at least, so I thought.
Upon doing this, I realised that the new Realtek audio drivers had some how stopped Launch Manager from working correctly. The "e", web and e-mail buttons all work fine, however the touch screen audio slider, mute button, etc. do not register when I press them.
Even before installing Launch Manager, on a fresh install, the mute button would work!
So this led me to go down the route that Launch Manager, and specifically the "Cinedash" part (volume controls etc) were trying to control the wrong audio device. In my audio devices, I have two "playback devices" listed, Speakers (on Realtek High Definition Audio) and Realtek Digital Output (also on Realtek High Definition Audio).
I went ahead and disabled the latter (Realtek Digital Output), but no, nothing... the controls on the cinedash still didn't do anything!
So, i decided I'd uninstall the Realtek drivers i'd just installed. After doing that? Nothing! The cinedash audio controls STILL don't control my audio!.......
The Quick Launch Manager keeps popping up on the screen of my Vostro 3450

The problem is that my Instant Launch Manager key and another media touch key " Realtek HD Audio Manager " aren't work, but the Windows Mobility Center touch key is work. What happens to my computer right now and i really feel bad about it. Also, i wonder what the driver name of those media touch keys.
View 15 Replies View Relatedwhen 3G for the Acer Aspire One is finally offered, new models, of course, will have 3G capability built in. Does anybody have a guess as to what kind of modification or accessory we will be able to use to get 3G on existing AAOs.
I would rather not have to go the route of the ATT USB DataConnect thingy, but will if I have to.
i have a 4720 but i cant figure out bluetooth

View 2 Replies View Relatedi got my new dv5 last night and ive got a problem. The first time it happened was when i tried to make one of those back up DVD's, i open the disc recovery manager, and the computer suddenly logs off, and im reverted back to the welcome screen where i need to click my name to log back in. Every program that was running simply dissapears. I was like 'crap... i guess i cant make any back up discs'. But then it happened again when i tried to install WinRAR, it was corrupted becuase i copied the files from another computer and after i press ok in the error box it does the same thing.. 3 times i had to re-download a file i was downloading at that time. I guess it only happens when theres an error. I immediatly uninstalled norton and most of the bloatware so it cant be due to that. So now im paranoid about opening any file hoping that it wouldnt log off like that suddenly and lose my work.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was able to launch the adaptive keyboard settings by pressing the 'wheel' button on the bar.
I updated the newest version of the keyboard settings (Hotkey Features Integration for Windows 7 (32-bit, 64-bit) - ThinkPad).
After installation. I could not use the functionality to switch through the different functions. I learned on this forum it had to do with the power management software. So I downloaded this.
De-installed the adaptive keyboard settings. Installed it again with latest version.
Now it works again, but now I can not launch the settings anymore. Not via the wheel button on the adaptive keyboard (most right button with the F1, F1 functions). Also not able to launch it directly from the control panel. Link is there, but there is no reaction.
So now I am not able to customize the settings anymore.
I removed the hard drive cover on my new Aspire 5740-6478 and there is an unused, open bay in there, next to the hard drive, for some component.

But how is it opened?
I'd like to install additional RAM Memory in my laptop (as title said, the Acer Aspire 6920G) which only has 2Gb. I've bought a 2Gb memoy module. My problem is that when I try to open the notebook (i removed the necessary screws), it seems like there is something preventing me from opening it and I'm scared to break the laptop so I don't know if I should force it to open or if I missed somethink.

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy XP finally gave up and so have a brand new Acer Aspire E5 with 8.1 which is a beautiful machine and love lots of the features but if I can't figure out how to open a downloaded embroidery design with the Bernina Artlink 7 software (download free from Bernina) I have no use for it at all. This should be a very simple task and has turned into a nightmare of support calls with no one understanding that all I need is to be able to tell the computer what program I want to use for opening the embroidery design.
View 9 Replies View Relatedwhich would be fine... But there's nothing in the handbook about the right way to remove the back cover and i don't want to snap anything, however much vista needs 4GB of ram.
screws undone obviously but it still feels very firmly attached... what's the right way to take it off?
have found the keyboard on its own for a bargain price, however it does not come with the USB bluetooth adaptor, just the keyboard on its own.
My question is will the keyboard (and the mouse if I ever buy it seperately) work with my Studio 15's built in bluetooth?
I have googled for ages on this but can't get a definitive answer. There have been mentions of 'no' some people say yes but you have to change the bluetooth stack e.t.c.
I installed "Startup Inspector for Windows" and got an error message that borlndmm.dll was missing and therefore the program could not open. I did a Norton power scrub, ran MWB, did a clean reboot.

It worked but now when I click on the explorer icon, the window opens but nothing - and I mean NOTHING - happens. I can't even close it after waiting and waiting for it to open any page at all! I am connected to our wifi - it tells me the connection is strong. Just nothing comes up! I have tried restarting, waiting awhile before opening the internet, but still blank.

I believe the HP's keyboard is 92% and the AA1's is 89% I believe. It feels "okay" to type on, obviously not the best due to its size compared to a normal keyboard, but am wondering if the HP's is worth the price jump (paid 300 for mine).
View 7 Replies View RelatedI just updated my Acer Aspire 5735 notebook from 3gb DDR2 to 4gb DDR2. The bios now detects 4gb total as does Vista's System Page (Control Panel/System in Ultimate 64bit)
However when i go to task manager/performance my total physical memory shows up as 3000MB and the Physical Memory Usage graph seems to reflect this 3gb total.
Is there something I need to do to get vista to detect and utilise the 4gb total?
