Acer :: Aspire M5-481T-6488 - Does Not Recognize AC Is Plugged In / Battery Not Charging

Aspire M5-481T-6488 - Does not recognize AC is plugged in. Does not charge battery.
Laptop is about 2 yrs old. Running on the origninal Windows 8 that came with it. Had the same issue when it was first bought. Sent it in to Acer. Came back with no report/ details. Worked okay. Until recently.
Noticed that orange light comes on when it feels like charging and stops charging at 35%. Charging is a hit and miss thing, mostly miss.
Tried:
Sticking a pin in the "battery reset" hole on the back
Uninstalling the "Microsoft API" battery
Removing battery to see if it'll work without it (it has an internal battery)
There is a tiny chance that this slight variation will work. Remove the battery and power cord, and hold the power button down for sixty seconds. Without turning it back on, re-install the battery and power cord and turn it on. If this doesn't work, then it is either a battery failure or a charger failure.
I have tried turning off computer and letting batteries charge, tried turning of and holding power button, this model has internal batteries, I don't want to open laptop and try disconnecting batteries.
I have had my Dell Inspiron 1525 for around two years. For the past month, when my power supply is plugged in, the battery does not charge. It has been stuck on 3% and will automatically shut down when unplugged.
I have seen that this is a very common problem, however, when hovering over the battery icon it says: plugged in, CHARGING, where as all of the other posts that I have seen say: plugged in, NOT charging.
I have tried taking the battery out and restarting but this did not work. I also drained my battery and tried to recharge but again, this did not work. My initial thought is that I may need a new battery but I just wanted to check first.
I think it is quite a big problem for me. The message from the battery label is "plugged in, not charging" and if i unplug the charger, the computer shuts down immediately. while charging the light is red and sometimes blinks.
My Acer aspire switch 10 automatically turns itself off if it is charging and the lid is closed, when i tru to use it i find it hard to turn on and 99% or th time i need to hold the poer button for 10-15 seconds once or twice for it to power on. Never used to do this when i got it but not sure if it is windows being buggy or hardware...
i have my computer (win 7) set to high performance. I also keep it plugged it but it hasnt been charging my battery, its down to 35%. Does it have some sort of a cycle function where it waits until the battery is drained and then charges it back up? I dont want it to do this because when i need to use it on the go i would like a full battery.
I've got an HP Compaq nw8240 and when I move the mouse over the battery icon it says Plugged In, Not Charging. It only shows a 40% charge too, and if I unplug the AC adapter the battery will drain and then recharge back to 40% again.
I'm running the latest version of Windows 7 also.
I've also tried updating the BIOS but when I download the file from HP's support site it and run it all it does is restart my computer and nothing changes.
I have spent two days reading forums & trying to follow suggestions. I have gotten a new battery (prior to finding out it might not be the problem), reconnected the power cord/adapter and did a bios update. Bios still says adapter is "unknown". Battery (new one) reads at 41% (& holding), the old one at 37%. Another way to charge the battery?
My year old XPS 13 Ultrabook's battery is not charging when plugged in. I measured the voltage of the power adaptor at the plug (the end that connects to the Ultrabook) and the voltage level seem fine at 19.4V
However when I plug and unplug the power when the Ultrabook is off, the LED turns on and off accordingly.
My Ultrabook is L321x, running Windows 7, and has BIOS A7 installed.
how to fix dell inspiron 15r battery plugged in not charging problem? i bought the laptop from dell in november last year and the charger that came with the product got wet and stop working i went to a computer store here and bought a 65w charger and after about a month using it start saying that its not the same exact charger that came with the laptop but its an original dell 65w charger it even say i should get a 65w or higher and it still dont work it works when it feels like
I just had a battery replacement for my Dell XPS 15z.. Prior to the installation of the new battery, the machine could only work with the AC adapter plugged in, raising the suspicion that the battery was defective. However, now that a new battery has been installed, the battery does not charge even whiles the AC adapter is stilled plugged in.
My battery light is flashing red and the battery icon says that my charger is plugged in but not charging. So when I unplug my laptop it automatically dies. It's been like this for a couple of days and i've tried to just see if it'll go away but nothings happening.
I had bought a new battery since my old one was dead. I charged it up and was using it for a couple days. After that, I got the "plugged in, not charging" message. I thought it was the battery, so I got a tested replacement battery. I still got the message, so I did that uninstall battery device manager solution, and didn't work. I also updated BIOS to A14, bought a new A/C adapter, and still no luck. The A/C adapters say "unknown" in BIOS though both A/C adapters are Dell. Here is a picture of the laptop jack. [URL] .....
About 1 Year ago i Bought a new DELL 5521 it was working fine, but like 2 days ago i was playing games in battery mod, it suddenly pop low battery 6% or maybe 10% so i force shutted down, and like not its charging up-to 60% or 65% and after this it says Plugged in not charging... i don't know why its not going above 65% percent. I Tried SEVERAL THINGS PEOPLE SAID, in Google in Forums Nothing Worked & it Also Sometimes Plug and Unplug By it Self Like for 2 Seconds it Unplug it Self, and then plug again and i dont know why....
I'm having this problem where my battery is plugged in but it is not charging. I tried a few solutions but it doesn't work. I just bought this laptop Lenovo G400s almost a month ago.
We have a Dell Refurbished Inspiron M5010 for about a year. All of a sudden the battery is recognized but will not charge. It says it's plugged in and charging; but stays at 0%?
I have a problem with my battery on a brand new E430. I've used it for 1 week w/o problems and now it simply doesn't want to charge the battery anymore. It is stuck on 48% and I have a message saying "plugged in, not charging".
EDIT: I run Win 8 (64 bit) - absolutely everything is up to date, including BIOS.
I bought my lenovo z400 ideapad beginning of April this year and just about two days ago it just turned off and though I plugged it in later it started saying 'plugged in but not charging'. What do you think is the problem?
Furthermore I lost the receipt ( the sales receipt) but there is still the model/series no. , is the warranty still on?
I installed windows 8.1 pro with WMC on my lenovo z510 laptop and installed energy management driver from laptop's drivers dvd. After I installed LEM (lenovo energy management) i started the gauge reset process for my laptop.
After some hours i saw nothing is happening so i made a mistake and cancelled gauge reset in the management software and after that when i restarted my laptop my battery icon says PLUGGED IN CHARGING but it just remians on 0% !!!!!
Problem solved by for example uninstall and reinstalling MICROSOFT ACPI. but notice that i reinstalled my windows 8.1 ! i changed in to windows 7 ! again changed it to windows 8.1 !!!
I updated the energy management software ! nothing happened !
Then try to restart to BIOS menu and from there restore BIOS defaults ! but i couldn't enter BIOS from any ways ! from pressing F1 ! from the way based on windows 8.1 and UEFI frimware settings (somthing like that) ! from none of them i could enter the BIOS!
So now my battery is still facing the problem !you know that it's not easy to unattatch and reattatch z510 battery that is internal ! so at last i must say that i've checked a lot of ways and now my battery is still having problem !
My studio 1737 laptop always says its plugged in and not charging. I had the original battery in and on boot up the bios says that the battery is not recognized if I unplug the laptop with that battery in it automatically dies. I also purchased another battery online I get the same error on boot but this battery actually has a charge straight out of the box so the laptop will run if I unplug it. However, the battery will not charge. I also bought a new official dell charger since the after market one gives me an error on boot up. I have also replaced the CMOS battery because I was getting an error on that too and the clock kept resetting.
I currently have the new battery, new official dell charger, and a new CMOS battery installed and the battery still does not charge. What could be causing this?
I had brought a new G500 Lap it was nice to work with it, but fo past two days when i connected it with charger it shows me "Plugged In, not charging". what to di with it but some times to get charging .
I have a Pavilion dv6-1050us and prior to updating the bios as recommended by HP my charger would show both in the taskbar as the battery was charging and it was plugged in as well as on the led on the front left of the notebook. Since the update of the bios the charging icon in the taskbar no longer shows and the led light that shows the battery is charging no longer lights up. I know there is power going to the battery because the battery shows 100% remaining and will only discharge after I unplug the power supply. Is there a way to restore the bios to the previous verion even though the bios was flashed by the program HP uses? My antivirus program will not do it's weekly scan when the system thinks it's running on battery power. I must manually start the scan myself.
I have this dell inspiron mini 1012 with problems to charge, it always same plugged in, charging but it keep at 8% and if i disconect the AC the computer just shutdown.
i've reset to factory software like 3 times and its doesnt work at all so i just need to know if my battery just pass out.
