I have an old Aspire One. I know there is no space left on it having run a diagnostic. When I boot I get "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the API". The recover directions don't work and an eRecovery is not available. Any way to just delete everything and start over. I do have the original windows cd which I have loaded onto a jump drive because my acer doesn't have a cd rom.

Neither through Alt+F10 nor through eRecovery am I able to get around a Notice with the following "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery". There is only one option of this notice, that is to ok it and then the current Windows 7 Home Premium OS starts and I am not able to get out of this viscous circle. The OS works and is completely set up, so I do not understand what am I prompted to do. I see a number of postings out there, but no solution. Local Acer does not seem to know anything about the problem nor it's existence.

The following error appears: "Windows can not complete the installation. Setup will continue after restarting Windows". The restart process begins but it stalls again at the same spot.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI recently purchased a new Inspiron 15 (5547, Early 2014), Windows 7. Within a few days, the speed of operation dropped to glacial speeds. It would take 10-15 minutes to open programs.
I've run virus and malware scans and this has not fixed the problem. I intended to then restore the system to an earlier install point, but every time I do I get a windows error "System restore did no complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed". The text of the message indicates I shoud disable my anti-virus software, but when I disable it (MacAfee, live scan and firewall), I get the same message. I get the same message even if I restore from safe mode, with MacAfee disable.The real issue is the incredible slow operation.
When updates are posted on Aspire Support Page my Aspire Switch 10 will not complete most downloads I attempt. It downloads anywhere from 60% to 95% of a particular download, then goes no further even though it indicates it is still downloading. I have left it in this "downloading" state for 10 minutes with no further progress. Of the few smaller zip files it did download completely, I got an error message of "Unspecified Error # 0x80004005" when it tried to unzip some of those.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWe currently purchased some T440 20B6-005BUS for our users and are applying our Windows 7 SP1 x64 Enterprise image to them through SCCM (and yes, ExpressCache gets installed). After imaging the first couple we noticed that at idle these laptops sit at 2-2.5GB RAM usage (4GB total in these machines). Thinking it may be something wrong with our image, I created a new gold image and applied it. However, the RAM usage is still very high.
To verify that it wasn't our image I started up another couple T440 out of the box with the Lenovo default image, and sure enough, it's also using 2-2.5GB at idle. It seems that some service(s) in svchost are using the most at idle (around 100-200MB).
I plan on installing Windows 8.1 Enterprise (fresh ISO) just to see if the T440 is just poorly configured for Windows 7, but I don't really expect Windows 8.1 to facilitate much. the T440 (especially 20B6-005BUS).

I have an Inspiron N5110 that is about 2 years old. The hard drive was replaced in January this year after being damaged. For the past couple of months I have had a problem with a second monitor being detected when the mains power cable is connected. There has never been a second monitor connected to this laptop. The screen resolution changes and if you have the Display panel open you can see it switch between single monitor and dual monitor. Every time it does this the screen goes black and then comes back up, the mouse pointer resets to the middle of the screen and it makes the noise you would expect when something is being plugged in. All of this does not happen when running on battery power. It happens most when the battery power is almost full or almost empty and the screen can change anywhere up to every 1-2 seconds at this time. When the charge is more towards the middle of the battery it happens a lot less often, maybe only every couple of minutes. It is almost to the point where the laptop is unusable if it is charging. We have checked the display drivers and reinstalled them just in case it was that but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Sadly, after comming back from New Years Eve 2014, I wanted to turn it on, but it just started up for around 4 seconds and then started to reboot again and continued so, until power was plugged out or shut down. There was only a black screen, without BIOS etc.I've searched forums for a solution, all of whom resulted in failure.

I've tried to check whether the hard drive is a problem and slave it to another laptop but it's still working, it will boot up well in another PC. Now I tried to insert a bootable USB drive just to reformat it for it to work again, but still it won't work. My bootable USB drive is detected and can be found in the boot options but if I select the drive for boot it still says "Operating System Not Found". Then I went searching over the net then I found something that might work like having it boot in Legacy BIOS mode, it boot up then but the problem is my display is distorted and fading, there are lines and overlapping display.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI get the Acer explore beyond limits splash screen. It stays on that for several minutes then the screen goes black and says that Operating system not found.
I was able to get the BIOS screen by pushing F2 but didn't know what to do from there.
The problem is that my laptop was working fine and then yesterday morning it wouldn't boot correctly (stuck on vista login screen). It eventually worked but the cursor was sticking and the it was impossible to type in. What is more, the light on the laptop shows that the laptop is charged but the actual battery icon onscreen says that battery is at 0% (but plugged in and charging). Having spent some time searching for an explanation online (on another computer of course) I am worried that it may be a problem with the motherboard.....? Or is it just a RAM issue?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fix a v5-571 for a customer, i get the " no operating system found" error, so i thought i could just wip out the hard drive back it up and restore, total failure after removing the drive, the drive comes up with cycle redundancy errors which usually means drive is dead, now I can buy a replacement but I've been unable to find recovery disks for the new drive. The lappy is windows 8. There is no disks with it he never made a recovery disc.

Right now I want to recover system to factory default but I haven't recovery disk nor recovery partition. I've got only backup five files ended with .NFB extensión and one with .CAL extensión. I've tested ghost programs and backup software but none of them could read backup files. Is there any solution for this without buying the recovery disks ?

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have an acer aspire 1642nlci laptop for about over 2 years now... recently the battery (simplo 4-cell) went nuts, and i disassembled it to see if i could do something about it ( the issue was, whenever i'd boot up my operating system i.e XP, the system would stuck, until i remove and then replug the battery in to the laptop)... well i did no repairing, just put the cells out and then back to the casing, inserted the battery into the lappy, and the issue went all by itself... however, 2,3 days later, the battery stopped charging and agonized by the situation already, and while i had my battery(without the casing) inserted into the laptop, i shorted the i/o pins of the battery to each others with a metal... and then the real issue began... my laptop is cursed, it won't start anymore past the initial 'acer' screen... sometimes the lcd won't light up even... pressing f2 helps nothing, keyboard doesn't work... and if you let it stay on for a while, the power indicator leds *both the supply and battery status ones* start to go dim and dimmer... i think i have fried the mother board's power supply area...
View 10 Replies View RelatedI bought my Acer Aspire E1-57G 2 months ago. U put win7 64bit on him and installed som drivers. All worked fine for some time. 1 week ago my internet slowed down randomly, and only on this notebook.
I googeld a little bit and i decided to go for win 8.1 and original drivers. I installed everything but the problem with WLAN adapter was still there. If i started loading a web page sometimes it loads completely with no problems and everything is fine for some time (5 min) then pages start to loading slow or not at all. And like that all the time.
When I download something it ether downloads "fast" like 500 - 800 kbps or not at all 0kbps. On other notebooks wireless connection is ok, and at the same time when thisone is slow others do well. Win update is not slowing connection (OFF), firewall is ok, power management set to be max for wlan adapter. I tried every solution that i found on the internet.
So what is the problem (is it WLAN adapter) and how to fix it?
Everytime windows updates my Acer AO722, windows will not start. This started after I did a factory restore. When shutting down windows updates my system and then windows 7 will not start up after a restart.
