I replaced the HDD in my Aspire 7736Z. I ordered the disks FROM ACER. I keep getting the "No Operating System" error.
The disks that were sent by Acer will not boot and I cannot figure out how to boot them from a "bootable disk"
The BIOS sees the new HDD and the DVD player but will not boot.
Operating system not found" when starting computer. Aspire V5 with Windows 8. What can I do?

I was able to get the BIOS screen by pushing F2 but didn't know what to do from there.
HDD broke. I bought new one and recovery cds. BUT my aspire V3-551G never boots from cd. Copied system disk to flash and that boots but no way to get it to recognize recovery disk 1. Is the fault in bios, physical dvd drive, or recovery software?
Can I (or should i):
A. edit some file in usb system disk to get it to cooperate
B. update bios
C. move a dvd drive from other laptop
D. get usb cd drive (tried didnt work)
E. get other usb flash hdd (as if that changes things somehow)
F. Move HDD to other laptop and either boot or work through windows there
G. Find acer accepted laptop fixer (how)
Came to a point when I should completely restore the OS on my Acer Aspire 4752. Neither through Alt+F10 nor through eRecovery am I able to get around a Notice with the following "please complete operating system setup process before doing system recovery". There is only one option of this notice, that is to ok it and then the current Windows 7 Home Premium OS starts and I am not able to get out of this viscous circle. The OS works and is completely set up, so I do not understand what am I prompted to do. I see a number of postings out there, but no solution. Local Acer does not seem to know anything about the problem nor it's existence.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my laptop, it won't boot up due to "Operating System Not Found", but I've used it already for several times but just yesterday it turned out that "Operating System Not Found". I've tried to check whether the hard drive is a problem and slave it to another laptop but it's still working, it will boot up well in another PC. Now I tried to insert a bootable USB drive just to reformat it for it to work again, but still it won't work. My bootable USB drive is detected and can be found in the boot options but if I select the drive for boot it still says "Operating System Not Found". Then I went searching over the net then I found something that might work like having it boot in Legacy BIOS mode, it boot up then but the problem is my display is distorted and fading, there are lines and overlapping display.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to fix a v5-571 for a customer, i get the " no operating system found" error, so i thought i could just wip out the hard drive back it up and restore, total failure after removing the drive, the drive comes up with cycle redundancy errors which usually means drive is dead, now I can buy a replacement but I've been unable to find recovery disks for the new drive. The lappy is windows 8. There is no disks with it he never made a recovery disc.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a dell 7720 laptop, which I would like the Windows 7 install on a SSD msata. I set UEFI, everything is OK, it loads the installer, run the install halfway, and it's the first reboot, the BIOS can not find the half-installed Windows, and start over again ... I have tried everything, I have the BIOS is re-installed. Windows 8 is also doing the same.
The funny part about it the same way I did two months ago and everything was fine, the machine worked, I just wanted to make Windows 7 the next and 8 easyBCD replaced with the sequence, and then he died doing it every since.
Maybe this program (easyBCD) I reached into the BIOS to do a bios update bios reset and not restore? If you do not install uefi, but then a traditional HDD for no reason, and the SSD is not uefi does not work.
I think the BIOS is going to be something, because I see the following installation to set up the UEFI, and partition, but the BIOS does not recognize (ran half the installation and over again to start because UEFI boot is not displayed you installed.) If you set it that boot device is added, it will print that you can not find a file system, but if I turn off the traditional boot then you will find the first installed unfinished Windows, you add the boot list, and then I went to the BIOS settings, restart, and again, you do not see your operating system. (none of what I just set it boot list)....
I keep getting a Windows Boot Manager Error 0xc000000f The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccessible.
It happens as soon I turn the computer on.

My 8 month old "Mini 9" Inspiron 910 shows "operating system not found" on boot-up and bios shows HDD size of 0MB. Fixed shows STEC PATA 16GB-(PM).
I realize re-installing XP is my next bet but I can't boot to USB. maybe the Solid State HD DEAD?
I am just interested with the update. but it says, "cannot complete the update due to its compressed operating system"... how can we update such a case?

The serial number for this is listed just as 123456789. Do any of you know how I can get my information flashed into the BIOS?

My Acer Travelmate 2420 now fails to see the operating system. When I use the restore DVD that I had made it boots up and after a while the recovery runs. I hit a problem when the machine asks for disc 2 to continue the recovery. Only one disc was ever made during the back up session.
A few facts.
Before the OS failed Acer Recovery and other Acer Programs had started to not function.
The C: and D: drives where NTFS Formatted.
I have even considered cleaning the hard drive altogether and installing a new OS. The problem here is that I can't get into DOS Mode.
I have an Acer Extensa 5620. I have a black screen that says no operating system found. I have tried F2 but I do not know the password and niether does the person I got it from. I do have all the discas that came with it but I can't get the recovery disc to work.

I have an XPS14 from the Dell outlet (UK) which means it was pre-configured. The machine has a 500gig hard disk and a 128 ssd. I was surprised to find the o/s on the large hard disk and intend to move it. Is there anything special I should take into account (dell partitions/drivers) when I do this. From what I have read I am under the impression that new Dell systems often are delivered with many unnecessary programs that use system resources and slow down the computer.
I will be receiving a new Latitude E6400 with Vista Ultimate in the next few days and I am unsure whether or not I should reinstall the operating system or leave it as is.
I have an XPS 14z, which has been owned for a mere 10 months. And well, yesterday I went ahead and formatted and re-installed the Windows 7 64-bit Operating System. It seemed to install fine and booted to the desktop. I then had to leave the house to run some errands, so I shut the laptop down. When I came back, I went to turn on my laptop. The Dell screen popped up, but then right after appeared a black screen reading "Operating System Missing". And well, I have been at it trying to fix this issue all day long! I have already ran the diagnostic tests, and they all were passed. So far I have tried the following to no avail:
1.) Booted Windows Disc --> reinstalled Windows = Same Problem
2.) Booted Windows Disc --> "Repair Your Computer" --> "Command Prompt" --> after "X:Sources>" typed in "bootrec /FixMBR" and "bootrec /FixBoot" = Both said successful, restarted, only to run into same problem
3.) "Command Prompt" --> after "X:Sources>" typed in "chkdsk d: /f/r" = "failed to transfer logged messages to the event log with status 50"
4.) "Command Prompt" --> after "X:Sources>" typed in "bootrec /rebuildbcd" = "Successfully scanned Windows installations. Total identified Windows installations: 0 The operation completed successfully."
