Oct 9, 2008I don't think the issue is physical as under Audio Properties => recording I get response from the 'VU' meter there. However, I am simply not being heard across skype or BF2/OFP VOIP. It's not the levels, which are set to maximum, I've installed the latest realtek HD drivers, and skype is set to 'windows default device'
Windows sound recorder works, although not very well.

Oct 3, 2009I ordered a laptop from Dell on October 1st over the phone. Immediately after I placed the order, I looked it up on dell's website to make sure it had gone through.
The status said "In Production." So then I called the 800 number that gives you an automated message about your order status (yes, I'm anxious), and the recording said "Your order was received today and is currently being processed." So I thought that was weird that the website and phone service were telling me two different things.
So the next day I checked the website and it still said "In Production" and I called the number and it said my order was still "being processed." Also, on the website under Billing Information, it said "Bill to: N/A" and I was concerned that maybe my billing information was wrong.

So I removed my phone from the paired device and again tried to pair it with my laptop, but I couldn't pair it. So I tried to reinstall the bluetooth driver from HP Recovery Manager. It was notified that the installation was successful but after that there is no bluetooth icon the PC Settings where I can switch on/off bluetooth. There is no bluetooth icon in the Device Manager as well.

Dec 30, 2012I am trying to use the bluetooth in my X230 to pair my laptop with my cell phone. I want to be able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot, in case I am in an area with no secure wi-fi. I would have thought that this would be standard feature in a laptop that is touted as a business device, but apparently this is not the case.
I installed both the bluetooth driver and the latest system update, [URL]..... but it is still not working for me. I am now able to connect my cell phone to my X230, but instead of enabling me to access the internet via Bluetooth, a dialogue box appears enabling me to play songs that are on my cell phone using the laptop speakers.the bluetooth driver did not come pre-installed on the x230, and I am disappointed that I am not able to use my cell phone as a personal hotspot for my x230.

Jun 15, 2009Have done a clean install of VISTA HP. Keep being prompted to install driver for "Mass storage controller". Device manager shows it with yellow exclamation mark. Windows cannot locate a driver. Looked on the Acer site but unsure what to install for this one.

May 14, 2009I want to stop using my wireless connection on my laptop and plug an ethernet lead in.
But when I plug this lead in my laptop just stays connected to to my wireless network. I tried disabling the Wireless on my computer then putting the lead in but still it wont attempt to connect to the internet with the ethernet lead in. What driver do I need to download so it will recognize the lead is in the laptop and attempt to connect to the internet?

Dec 21, 2009I have a new Aspire 8935G with Vista 32 preinstalled.
Take audio drivers for example.
Acer update site reports Realtek audio driver version 6.0.1.5847 for my system.
If I switch to Seven 32, it reports 6.0.1.5915.
If I look for Aspire 8940G, Vista 32 (same audio hardware as mine), I see 6.0.1.5918, and, finally, 8940G Seven 32 has 6.0.1.5930.
They are all different from official Realteak drivers: they are at version 2.39 and lacks a control panel element (from Realtek...) that is present in the Acer divers, the one with the desk picture and the speakers around the room.
First question is: does Acer ever update drivers for different system or they just offer the drivers that were present in the retailed system?
Second: how comes the Realtek drivers lack the control panel component?
