Sep 10, 2009I am installing Vista 32 for a friend on his Aspire 1810TZ. A very new model I believe.
As yet I havn't been able to sourse the correct Wifi drivers. The drivers from the Acer site (intel 5100 and Atheros) Fail. The Atheros drivers tell me that the card isnt present whilst the intel drivers tell me that they may not be compatible then after installing, the device is reported as working properly but the front switch fails to turn the wireless on and, no networks are found in range. The intel diagnostic software reports the wireless as being switched off and sometimes as being on but with no networks to scan.
Any ideas as to what wireless device is present in this model or whether I should be looking at the wireless switch itself as a source of the problem?

Apr 25, 2009I have just instaled a new hard drive in a 3050 and i have installed windows xp, as it used to have vista. i have installed all the drivers for sound, card reader, graphics and all is good. But, i cannot get the wireless to work, even after instaling the drivers. it will work with a wireless dongle ok and go online.

Dec 22, 2008i got an acer Aspire 4720z. it came w/ vista in english.. i follow all the rules to install XP.. i do it right. but on the Device Manager still are some unknow device that i don't know how to solve that.
i install xp service pack 3. (with nLite helps)
also the wifi dosen't work (i think the device is not installed)

Jul 31, 2008I just got my 7520 and have wiped Vista off it and installed Ubuntu and Xp, my nix is fine I am havin trouble finding drivers for XP and most of the vista drivers dont work in XP, I have managed to find Wifi and sound worked pretty much straight away but cant seem to find anything else that will work for me..... anyone got any ideas to help with this, I have tried driver download apps(like driver detective) and they dont seem to want to find the nvidia graphics driver.

Oct 6, 2009I just noticed that if you go to Acer support page you will find that in some laptops there will be Acer official drivers for Windows 7. So if you have windows 7 and you need some drivers for your hardware to work ok, you might be lucky and find the right drivers there. There are some Acer's applications there as well.
Just choose your laptop and then in the Operating system drop down menu check if there is a Windows 7 option and pick the Windows 7 version you have, 32-bit or 64-bit. They are not all there that you might need but I guess in a couple of weeks more and more drivers are going to be uploaded on the site and more laptops are going to be supported.

Aug 16, 2009i have the 174.51 drivers from acer for my 9500m gs and i was wondering if i should update them to the 186.03 from nvidia. I heard that the ones from acer have some optimizations for the hdmi port and if i connect the cable everything will work great on the tv ( sound , image, everything). Jul 22, 2009why my booting up of xp seemed to be the same speed as the original celeron cpu and was told that I will only see a improvement when I use multiple programs at the same time since I am using a 2.2GHZ cpu. A friend discarded his old sata drive in a laptop and gave me the drive to experiment with. I installed xp on this drive and it really boots faster but I need the drivers to make this install working. I thought that I once downloaded two zip files with all the drivers but can't find it. Sep 30, 2008I have installed recently Windows XP professional SP3 on My Acer Aspire 5920 notebook , after that I faced a problem on installing some drivers and most of the utilities.
Some of the drivers which I was unable to install are the audio driver and the modem even though I downloaded the drivers which supposed to be compatible with Windows XP from Acer website . I used this website [url]
None of the utilities also worked with me on Windows XP except the Acer eRecovery Management software.
When I tried to setup the Acer eAudio software I got the error message "This software can only be installed in authorized machine"
I also tried to install the audio driver but every time it ends up with the message "This device cannot start. (Code 10)

I know I need an audio driver as I no longer have 5.1 sound, and possibly chipset and graphics drivers but I'm not sure where to get them from.
