i have installed windows xp in my 5920g and now i want to install vista on 2nd partition but i don't know which of all those drivers to download. If someone knows please post the drivers i have to download. And one more question what's the use of mobility center, launch manager and gridvista programs.

1. Should i upgrade or make a fresh install? (probably i think it's better a fresh install)
2.If i make a fresh install i need to format my C:?
3.But will the d2d console work after formatting c: so in case i want to return to Vista i just need to hit ALT+f10 and start the restoring process?

I have ordered this laptop recently (Spec is below), well, it's due to arrive tomorrow, and am probably going to upgrade to Vista x64, or at least give the new Windows 7 x64 a go on it. However, I'm just unsure as to whether it will be easy enough to migrate or whether I'm likely to have issues finding drivers for the relevant hardware. I hope someone here can give me some advice as attempting to scour the internet for a response for this particular model has been a nightmare, I've found the drivers page but it's all a bit confusing with seperate 64bit and then SP1 sections! ...

But, is that really a driver for Vista 64bit SP1? Or is it just for the old Vista 64bit? (not for Service Pack 1)? or it's all the same and won't have a problem if installed to 64bit SP1?

iv had this problem for a few weeks now and nothing seems to be working. Everytime I play a game I get a bluescreen about display drivers and windows Problem Reports and Solutions says its a problem with ATI Graphics Drivers aswell.
I have tried various different ATI drivers and the driverhearn mod application but all them having failed I even run Acer eReovery and restored back to factory setting and STILL have the same problem but with a new error message, popping up occasionally while just genrally using the laptop, saying that the drivers stopped responding but managed to recover... something along those lines.

I went to acer support here [url] and looked up drivers for the 4730Z/4730ZG but the drivers that are shown are for the aspire 4330.
And the only 64 bit drivers shown are for bluetooth (which the 4730 doesnt have), Intel graphics, and nvidia graphics (which it doesnt have).
Where can i get wifi, motherboard, touchpad drivers for this model if i decide to run vista 64 on it?
should i call acer support and ask them if vista 64 is supported?

I just put this drive in though it was not there when i was instaling the OS. Also the bios deteects the drive as a BLU RAY drive but i cant find these drivers any where on dell website or any where else. I can open and close the drive just fine and if i put a cd or dvd in it spins fine as well.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to downgrade my wife's VGN-TZ90S from its default Vista to XP. I made a separate partition and installed XP then fixed the bootloader so it would load dual boot properly. The problem I'm having is I cant get a lot of the drivers working. For instance the graphics seemed to be straight forward, but none of the seemingly suitable intel gfx drivers work and when it tries to detect the integrated gfx via their website it says it doesn't recognise it.

Here is what mine is coming with and I tried to assemble my best guess at drivers. The HP site helps a bit but many drivers seem older and I'm not sure I need all of them of course.
My 5920G which I got for Christmas is giving me some problems.
I have gone to power options and and changed the settings so when I close the lid, nothing must happen. But when I come back in about 20 minutes after leaving the lid closed, there is no way of me getting the LCD to start up. The only way I can get past this is by pressing the power button in for a few seconds forcing it to shut down. Obviously this is bad for my notebook. How do I get this sorted out? The same thing happens if I leave the lid open and come back in a while.
Background:
A few days ago i bought an Acer 7730 laptop with Windows Vista pre-installed and no disks. After initial hesitation i have decided to keep vista and not downgrade to XP. After all there will be more service packs and tweaking should speed it up lots anyway.
However, i really want to get rid of the three partitions on the hard drive. There is only one physical hard drive but there are three partitions; a hidden 10GB one (EISA configuration) which from what i have gathered is now obsolete, a C: partition 111.44GB and a D: partition 111.44GB. There is no need to split a drive into several partitions now that we have the NTFS file system (unless you are using multiple operating systems of course - but i am not) so this is really annoying me.
I have made the 2 recovery DVD and the 1 applications/drivers DVD. I have an old WinXP disk that i can use to format the laptop if required.
Question:
Using the recovery disks (which i'm assuming contain a copy of my bought OEM Vista that was pre-installed on the laptop), can i delete the partitions, format the hard drive and install Vista onto a single c: partition?
I've done this exact process before with WinXP hundreds of times but i'm not sure whether i can do the same for Vista with just the 3 DVD mentioned...

I have a lot of stability issues with Factory Vista x64 installation, I will try to install from scratch Windows XP x64 and Windows Vista x64, I am not very familiar with Dell Notebooks (ex Lenovo guy), please could you tell me where I can find the correct installation sequence for all the drivers and tools?, I did some tests already, but I was not able to successfully install Dell Control Point, I got and error in the middle of the installation, I think I am doing something wrong, also I have installed the driver for UWB, but I do not find the tool to setup the Wireless USB hub?
