The sound on my HP Pavilion G6-1a19wm is not working.  Sound "does" work when using the audio jack with external speakers. I have tried uninstalling the driver, updating the driver, microsoft fix-it, and troublshooting steps. audio device shows in device manager and is supposedly working properly, mute is "not' enabled. visually all audio related things suggest that the audio is fine and troubleshooting finds no problems..Â
I can't get the audio input jack to work using either an MP3 or a microphone. This is a new Inspirion and when I call Dell, they send me overseas to someone that
keeps telling me it's a problem with the three MP3's I have tried and the microphone so they send me to "Pro Support"
that wants a credit card number. Anybody have an idea if this is a software issue or a defective input jack?
so for a while my headphone jack has been breaking. id have to wiggle around my headphone or speakers plug in the jack to make audio come out the right speaker. now it doesnt work at all unless push the jack in really hard and hold it there. does anyone know how to make audio come out of the microphone jack? like change it from input to output or something lol i dunno.
I watched a movie on my laptop and connected my surround audio receiver to the audio out jack. At first,
I heard feedback whining from the speakers. Once I disconnected the AC adapter power cord and used only the battery did the whine go away. Do you guys notice the same behavior?
It looks like the AC adapter is not fully shielded.
I just got my XPS M1330 recently. Noticed an intermitten beeping noise but I addressed it using RMClock. The beeping noise is gone.
However i also noticed there is a noise coming from the audio jack area once in a while when the laptop is working. The sound is like 'crick crick'. Not sure what sound is that
Have a weird problem and just wanted some advice on what to do next, before sending in my laptop to dell..
My laptop speakers wont output any sound whatsoever. While i can hear those very same sounds via headphone jack/hdmi.. No music, windows system sounds etc via the speakers, but can hear them via headphone/hdmi..
I have installed and updated the latest drivers.. Reformatted and reinstalled operating system (windows 7 home 64 bit), yet no results..
While I am convinced that it could be a hardware problem, I was wondering if you guys could suggest any more tests/things to do..
when i try to connect any hp combo headset having same jack for headphone and mic both ..the laptop doesnt recognizes any sound being spoken into the mic. but i can hear songs in the headphone.
I have a brand new Yoga 2 Pro that has an audio jack problem. The internal speakers play audio just fine.  When I plug in a pair of headphones into the jack on the right side of the unit, no audio comes out of the headphones.  The internal speaker continues to produce audio as if there is nothing plugged in.  Failed solutions:
I've tried using various types of headphones. Â No change. I tried re-downloading the audio realtek drivers from the lenovo website and re-installing them. Â No change. I tried rolling back the audio driver to the Windows version. Â No change. Â Is there anything else I can try? Â Non-working audio jack makes this a dealbreaker and I'll need to return the unit. Â Update: According to Lenovo phone support, all my headphones are 3.5mm and they need to be 2.5mm. Â Frankly, I think they have it backwards and what I have are 2.5mm plugs, but either way I'm headed to radio shack to find an adapter to make this work.
So the Yoga 2 Pro's single 1'8" audio interface is billed as a "combo" jack that functions both as a line-out (for headphones, speakers) and a line-in (for plugging in other audio devices to play through the computer's internal speakers). Well, this doesn't seem to be the case - I've tried ini vain to do this with a Line 6 guitar interface with no luck whatsoever. The Realtek Audio HD software shows the jack as performing two functions, but you cannot change what it's being used for - a difference from earlier versions of the Realtek software (apparently this was most easy to change in the Windows XP version).  How I can properly configure the combo jack to work as a line-in port, as was advertised when I bought the computer?Â
The speakers on the laptop itself work, but when I plug in any pair of headphones or earphones (I've tried 5 known good pairs) and it is the same problem every time. The right ear piece works and the left does not. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver to no avail.
Is there any easy solution like an usb audio jack or something I can use to be able to use headphones?
Speakers in the laptop play music fine. When I use the headphone jack the music in my headphones has very little dynamic range. The music sounds squashed. The loud parts are limited and the soft parts are raised to the point that I can hear the background noise in the recording. I have never had this problem on any other PC.
I am listening to iTunes, Soundforge and any other program that has audio.
This doesn't always happen, but I've noticed a few times on my T440p that when I have headphones plugged in, sounds comes out of the speakers. The headphones are functional and fully plugged in, yet no sound comes out of them, and the sound comes out of the speakers. I've fixed this multiple times by unplugging the headphones and plugging them back in. Â (My problem differs from this one, where sounds comes from both the headphones and speakers)....
I'd like to stream some movies and TV shows from my laptop to view on my TV. The TV is a Pioneer Kuro PDP-5080.
I'm going to be ordering a Mini DisplayPort -> HDMI cable from monoprice to get the video going, but am unsure of what i need for audio, as i understand the minidisplay port doesn't carry audio. I'd like to use the highest quality option available, which i think is the optical out via headphone jack but what cable do i need? My TV has a "Optical - Digital Out" port on the back.
Also, the other option i have is to use a 1/8" -> RCA Y-cable correct? And the output quality won't be as good as the other method, right?
I'm trying to put my mic or even my guitar (yes i have a mixer) through the line in/headphone jack, but the internal mic is the only one being recognised. What the heck? And in the mic options there is only System setting and built-in (both have the same result)
For Logic Pro users... I know I can beat map an audio track using the global tracks beat mapping grid that appears by clicking analyse. The question is... Is there a way to add more than 1 track to this and not mess each other up. When I add a second audio track and beat map it; when I'm correcting its regions it messes up the tracks above...
I realise that the beat map is part of the global tracks, but is there a way I can use it on a per track basis or something like that?
I have a new 2009 macbook pro 15 inch, and I have no complaints whatsover but! when I installed windows xp using bootcamp, whenever I run games, the sound quality is rather poor and the volume is very low... is there anyway to fix this? or should I sux it up?
i cant get any sound to come out in bootcamp. Windows loads up completely silent. I think a file got corrupted or something. All the icons show up in windows, and it says sound is at the max.
I was at Bestbuy yesterday looking at the new Unibody Macbook pro 13 and noticed that it only had one audio port next to the SD card slot, and it was marked with a headphone icon. I presume that this is the audio out connection. However, what was noticable was the absence of an audio-in connection that is clearly shown on the Apple website photo of the product (below)...
Was the unit I saw simply a fluke, or an "early" unit? Does the "current" new pro 13 have two ports as apple shows, or just one, as on the Bestbuy unit. My current unibody(early 09) has two ports, and I'd hate to lose one by upgrading.
I have when running XP/Vista/7 under bootcamp. Looking on the net beforehand, I've found things about the 'red light'.... I know what that is, so no replies about that....
Why doesn't the output work under Windows? When plugging speakers/headphones in I get nothing through them and the sound continues to come out of the internal speakers; which I also had to patch as the sound level was so low I nearly took the macbook back due to Apple not giving a damm that I'd just spent £900. But anyhow, I can live with that..... and the dodgy trackpad driver..... and the backlight keyboard that won't be turned off...... but not that the output doesn't work under Windows.
I haven't tried using a digital out; mainly since I don't have an amplifier that has a suitable input.
