Apple :: Using Tab To Jump From Field To Field, But Skips Drop Down Menu
May 6, 2009
I have a minor issue with the way tab works on the Mac.
Anyway, when I fill out forms, I like to use tab to move from field to field. In Windows, I have absolutely no problem with that. However, on my Macbook, when I hit tab, it will always skip drop down menus. It's an inconvenience when I have to pick up the mouse and navigate to the drop down and select my choice.
This isn't as efficient.
Is there anyway to make the browser select the dropdown menu once if I hit tab and it is the immediate field that follows?
Installed Power Mgr 6.63.1. When click on the green battery symbol the program does not start only pops up in the activity field as a red icon (battery symbol). I am used to that the program starts and I can change power settings, look at battery condition etc. I have reinstalled it twice with same strange result....
I like their ability to provide quick access and a quick overview of information in a small space. Found this page and thought I would pass it along to others:
Menubar Items
The list is pretty good, though not exhaustive. Feel free to add any that you can't live without.
Of course you think it's perfect out-of-the box, but as time progresses you start to notice the small imperfections. I only have a few issues with my Studio 1737, but this is one of them. If I am playing music, say from iTunes or the Zune Software, and I try to eject a CD or DVD, the audio will skip or stutter for about two seconds. This happens without fail, %100 of the time. Am I the only one experiencing this, or is it something that I will have to deal with? It really is not major since I rarely have a DVD or CD to eject, since my music is on harddrive already, but I noticed it when I ripped a DVD for my Zune.
Does the E4300 suffer from the audio skips and static the way that the E6400 and E6500 do? From my brief amount of searching it appears it does not, but I'm just looking for a little confirmation .
Not sure what is causing this. Maybe someone else who had this issue and solved it can help me out. This is NOT the same as the crackling issue (which is solved by the Intel Matrix Controller drivers).
I am running Vista Business using the IDT drivers from Dell website. No other software from Dell installed other than the Matrix Controller driver. I am playing in Winamp. But notice it happens in WMP also.
CPU is not stressed at all. I am running on the High Performance profile (clock shouldn't be modulated).
Today i upgraded my dv6500t again. This time i put in an OEM t8300. After putting it in the bios reads it and it runs fine ( Im on it right now ). Anyways i will be using it and it idle's nicely at 40*C to 50*C but randomly it will jump to 83*C for core 1 and 97*C for core 2 the fans will spin full speed then it will drop down right back to normal. Anyone have any idea i am running the most up to date bios F.59.
I have been trying to install a new version of windows on my T420s laptop but have been unable to get the system bios to allow me to select the USB jump drive. I have tried a number of different BIOS setting trying to get the drive to show up in the F12 boot list. The only devices that show up are the SSD Hard Drive, the CD/DVD drive and the network boot option.
note I have tried all 3 USB ports, I have 3 different USB jump drives and each of them work when connected to other systems.
Got an issue with new Dell Precision M3800 + HD 3100 Dock. My issue with with the mouse pointer. After using the laptop for 2-3 hours, I'm getting an issue in which the mouse pointer will jump over text boxes (does this in any browser, when trying to click in the formula field in excel, even when clicking in this dialog box to type). Basically what's happening is the mouse pointer thinks the text box is higher than it really is.
So, if I go up to the address bar from under, as I pass over the bar, the arrow changes to a text cursor, but jumps above the actual address bar...if I click, I can type in the bar. If I keep going, eventually the arrow pointer will come back, but it will jump back down to the actual top of the address bar. In the case of typing in this box for posting, in order to get the cursor here " ", I have to click where I have the star above (in the word "can").
It just seems like something is very out of sync, and I'm thinking it has to do with the graphics card or some resolution setting. I have an Acer V246HL set to 1920x1080 + a Viewsonic VA2746M set to 1920x1080 as well. Only fix I've found so far is to reboot. I've messed around with the resolution numerous times. This issue only appears when connecting multiple monitors (which is a necessity). I did not have this issue w/ my previous laptop, which leads me to think this is not a monitor issue either
I have Dell Inspirion 3520 Laptop, And its come with Window 7 and I have recently its updated with window 8 after this i got a issue that when I start typing the cursor jump to somewhere else or select something.
I just sold my m1530 on ebay cause i found this really nice deal for an SXPS13 on ebay which turned out to be a scam , now im low on cash so i was wondering when will there be price drops on the SXPS13 or 16..
And would anyone happen to know when dell is going to release new XPS models...
Most of them are solvable, but they require some effort.
A bit disappointing since I wish dell had come out with their top precision line which worked flawlessly "out of the box". Precision laptops have some great hardware and I would like to see dell kicking MBPs butt.
So, did drop the ball on the precision line ? Should it demand more from the device driver development team ?
I have an Inspiron 9400 with a Core 2 Duo T7200 and GeForce Go 9700 GS.
While I'm using my computer, after about half an hour, there will be a performance drop. If I am playing a game my frame rate will drop to 5-10fps, Firefox will run slow, et cetera.
I believe it has something to do with the processor and the speedstep throttling crap.
Some days ago my wife dropped my Sony Z21 from about 1 meter. Everything seems to work fine except Wlan, Bluetooth and HSDPA. I don't think that any of those modules are broken or something as everything else survived the drop. Does anyone know if all 3 wireless options are connected through some kind oa board? If so then I assume the connection is loose and that causes the wireless to drop. At the beginning it turned on and off the wireless ramdomly...
I've just noticed that in my Y510P with SLI the CPU Clock drop to 2,4 Ghz when I play games or render some graphic, and go up to 3,2 Ghz when PC is at rest.
I'm getting a Studio 1555 with the t4200 Penryn Pentium Dual Core CPU. Would a P8600 Core 2 Duo work if I put it in the socket? It seems to be exactly the same core, just faster FSB and multiplier. My guess is Dell use the same motherboard for all 1555 laptops.
i drop my hp 6803s not much damage done but it says bootmgr is missing i have done some start up test when i do hard disk test smart check-passed short dst-failed ,when i try and boot from the disk it dosnt work or maybe iam not waiting long enough for it took work i waited over an with like dark drak blue screen then the mouse comes up then i wait more and still nothing.
I have Dell 7720 17r SE for almost a year now,I remember it as a fine gaming rig.I used to play Dead Island, Fallout New Vegas on max settings and resolutions,But ever since the latest A13 BIOS upgrade and the new 314.22 Nvidia Driver.
I noticed a significant drop in performance. Almost every game started to lag when the action becomes too "crowded" (lots of enemies etc).
And as for Dead island I noticed the performance drop after 20min of play. Not sure about overheating. (It seems like the usual temp if not maybe a Celsius hotter)
Noticed gaming performance drop after updating the bios and latest GPU driver???
I've noticed lately that my framerate will suddenly go from ~100 fps (I set max there) or so to 20fps.
It will do that for almost a minute, and then suddenly for no good reason shoot back up to 100. Also, there would be times when absolutely nothing is happening in games, and it happens.
I used to think the drop was heavy firefights or traditional graphic issues like smoke or textures, but when i turned everything to the lowest, I still observed the exact same trend!
Windows Defender reports nothing and Spybot Search and Destroy reports nothing. I went through NHC to make sure HD is set on max performance and also set Battery Usage on max performance. I *thought* that would help, but the same thing started happening again after a small period (8-10 minutes) of no slow down.
Current theories are: 1. The cpu is overheating so it underclocks for a minute or so. 2. There is some process that I can't find (I might have missed something obvious) that checks in every 4-5 minutes
I recently used my recovery disks to go from XP back to Vista after a very dismal Xp performance. My download speed is now around 40 kb/s from HP.com (for drivers), firefox set up download 45 kb/s? Also i've noticed that video's online buffer at an alarmingly slow rate. I have Cox high speed internet and it used to be around 400-600kb/s and pretty quick buffering. What the heck happened? And why did my graphics score drop .2 points?
I have a look at my battery report today and found something really awkward. I bought the computer seven months ago, and the battery start with Design capacity 44,000wWh, while the full charge capacity is quite closer to the design capacity. However in the battery report it shows that two weeks ago the design capacity suddenly drop from 44000 to 40734mWh in one week, and then afterwards it drop to 39000mWh. And the actual full charge capacity seems to linger around 37000mWh. Is there something wrong or is my battery just wear out naturally?
