Dec 27, 2008playing crysis last night ran fine for a bit then crashed because driver failed wanna install this driver version 8.512 this should work right same card has anyonne tried?

Jan 14, 2009I would like the better graphics (even the integrated graphics), but can't determine which model is which at dell.com (not looking for an outlet purchase, just a regular new computer).
Also, can someone tell me the differnces b/w the 1535, 1536, and 1537? I am not a gamer, outside of an occasional game here or there (nothing too crazy-i.e. I have never bought a game that cost more than about $20 for context)...............

Sep 2, 2009I know the new 1555 no longer have these touch activated LED on their keyboard, but I was wondering for all of us that have the 1535 and 1537,
did anyone ever figure out how to keep these little things lit so they're not so hard to find in a darker place? I thought this was just a firmware issue and someone might have figured it out, I haven't been checking and the search turned up nothing so far.

it's an excellent time to buy the keyboard on your own and install it yourself. It's an extremely simple process, involving no more than 4 Philips head screws, three ribbon cables, and ten minutes of your life.
Resaleremarking.net, an excellent parts retailer for Dell notebooks, has the backlit keyboard available for $37.95, which is an excellent price, especially considering it's Grade A, which is brand new. For reference, I bought mine for $50 just a couple months ago.
The part is now cheaper than ever, so what do you have to lose? Replacing the keyboard does not void your warranty with Dell, and is one of the easiest hardware replacements you can make on this laptop.

Already downloaded a dozen of drivers, but only one its for xp and 1535 studio - idt audio.
Idt audio suckss, my laptop internal speakers are very quiet as well as my 5.1 logitechs I have no subwoofer working and very bad sound quality

Oct 27, 2008FYI Dell released a new video driver for the studio laptops today.
It said it increases compatibility with external monitors. I wouldn't know since I've never hookem mine up to an external. But I will dl just to stay up to date. You can find it here:

It plays AVCHD Blu-Ray m2ts smoother and performs Vista Aero great even in power saver mode w/ battery..

Apr 9, 2009I tried but there is a small gap so I had to stick with the thermal pad. I'm not sure whether AS5 would do a better job of cooling considering the design. I'm just wondering if anyone was successful in eliminating the gap and noticed improved cooling.

Apr 9, 2009I have a new Studio 1537, Core 2 Duo T6400 (2mb cache), 250 GB HD, 3 GB ram, Vista Home premium and a Radeon HD 3450 with 256 MB dedicated graphics.
What sort of games will play on this.
I have a desktop PC that play a few games on, Splinter cell and Tour of duty. These games are quite old so only list XP as the operating system. Will they play on Vista and is the Radeon HD 3450 good enough.
What other shoot em up type games will play on this system.

Mar 19, 2013I bought a dell v3450 last year. Everything works fine for about 1 month. After that an error occured.Whenever I play a random game with High-Performance graphic card (AMD Radeon HD 6630M), after several minutes, it crash and the atikmpag.sys (116) appear. I have to turn off my computer by hold the power button. If i switch to Power-Saving card, nothing happen. But I can run any program with high level graphic detail. download all the drives from the HP site ... I installed all the ... and the error persists

Dec 17, 2014I'm trying ubuntu from USB (also tried linux Mint) but I can't boot from the USB, I always get "operating system not found" error.
I tried booting with F12 and choosing USB, tried to change boot order in bios and set USB 1st but nothing works. What else can I do ? The usb is bootable so the problem is with the laptop/bios.

I have this card in my laptop .... Mobility Radeon HD 3450 ... my system recognizes it as 512 of video ...
But the internet does not find a Mobility Radeon HD 3450 - 512mb... is normal?
That is giving me problems with video, black screens constantly...
It also takes video 1024gb ... so I have 1700gb of video ...
How can I change these values?
