I updated my Windows 7 and conduct a Defrag since i moved at least 400GB of Files to my External HD. After The windows finished installing the Update and reboot my System, BSOD appeared and reboot my system. I tried LKGC and all Safemode but still the same. I run the Diagnostic via F12 and i received an error below.
HDD = DST Short Test
Error Code: 2000-0142
S/N WX81C32N6846
Short Self Test Unsuccessful
I tried the Windows Repair but the page is not loading and I also tried using my Recovery USB and still no page is loading. My unit is still under warranty and I dont want to touch anything internal.
I recently received the 2000-0142 error when running the diagnostics on my 7720 laptop. I found this to be a hard drive error and purchased another hard drive. After installing the new hard drive I received the 2000-0332 error.
resolving the 2000-0332 error to get my laptop back up and running?
I have a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop that is 2 weeks out of warranty, and have only owned this laptop for 1 year from new. On Jan. 1 2015 i started my new year with a 2000-0142 code as i started up my computer, so i could skype my family and friends wishing them a happy new year. After doing some serious investigating with family, friends and the internet i found that this is a common problem with Dell's Hard Drive's and they seem to do nothing to rectify this issue...
My laptop model is DELL XPS 11. when i press the power on button, the Dell logo came out and it loads "preparing automatic repair...", then the whole screen turned black, there is nothing on the screen but I can only see the mouse cursor.
What did i do?I rebooted the laptop and immediately pressed F12 to go into diagnotics. After scanning, there was an error code 2000-0142 and the error message was Hard drive 0 - short self test unsuccessful. I even tried to use recovery media to factory reset my laptop, but it failed.I did not open up my laptop to check for any cable connection problems, because I dont know if it will void my warranty. My laptop is still under warranty.
I have an Inspiron N5050 that is 8 mos old and is rarely used. When turned on, it shows windows loading files bar, then a start up repair screen but does not go beyond that. When I exit that screen, it shuts down. I restarted it and ran the F12 diagnostic test and it showed a fail with error code 2000-0142. This should still be under warranty because I bought the computer on 8/4/12. Is there anything I can do on my side or will this need to be returned to Dell for evaluation?
I've never seen this before. recently (and I mean within the last few days) my laptop has picked up this strange quirk that it resets its system time to 10/10/10 10:10am. I've done a full virus scan (microsoft security essentials) and turned up nothing - a clean system. Windows 7, not that much crap on it, mostly games. Fully updated.
Anyway, part of me is thinking cmos battery, but the paranoid side is reformatting and reinstalling anyway, as much as I hate to do it again. My question is, is this the default time the bios will reset to in the event of a bad cmos battery? Or have I maybe picked something up I haven't detected.
At any rate I've had this machine for less than a year, I find it highly unusual that the cmos battery would die so quickly. I have ancient desktops that are still ticking.
I have these problem for my computer when I do the pre-boot system assesment build 4129 test.
I still can operate my computer. I already re install, but it still automatic restart sometime, and will display the blue screen and display the error kernel-data-inpage-error.
I am using dell inspiron 3521 windows 8 preloaded. Whenever i start my laptop. It stuck on dell logo with full blue bar. And after few minutes, a blue screen shows that some files are missing. Error code: 0xc0000185.
When i diagnosed..its showing error code 0142. Hard drive error. And when i force it to boot. It shows in black screen with white letters "no bootable device found, press any key". And when i press any key.. Its repeating the same error... Now i dont know what is happening.. Warranty over..
I have problems with my Dell latitude d630. I get the error 2000-0146 in the diagnostics. I have tried all i know, and replaced the HDD.
I am running in xp, and do not have the xp cd. The Laptop is 6 years old, bought through my old school. Thats why i dont have the cd. I have made it so now i can start the laptop, and it boot up ok as long as the Wi-Fi is turned off. If i turn it on it takes maybe 1 minute until it crashes. Sometimes giving me the blue screen. When the Wi-Fi is off, i cant run the HDD defrag or HDD scanning for error. I cant run chkdsk /f either. I've tried to looks in bios, But dont understand too much.
I am trying to fix my GF laptop model STUDIO 1535. This laptop is two years old or so. It was showing randomly blue screens on win xp sp3, so I checked forums and recommended to do a cleaning. I opened the lid, cleaned the fan ( it had a big ball of fur that prevented the fan to move) and cleaned the rest of the mb with the vacuum cleaner. Now it doesn't work anymore. I tried to disconnect and connect the HD but still the same error. I ran the diagnostic and gave me this error 2000-0141.
I did a hard drive test which shows 1 error in data sectors. which render the sector unusable. Since these errors occur during normal drive operation, they are not necessary indicative of a failing hard drive, Additional testing is recommended. Computer runs fine with no issues. Failing hard drive?
On the start-up diagonstic the error code 2000-0146 came up. The computer is booting fine, though sometimes does not shuts down properly. Should I look into getting a new hard drive right now. Is it going bad?
i have a HP 2000 nopebook PC and its giving me a black screen with no error codes or beeps. I can hear the startup sounds and see the screen brighten up and then gets dim. When I hook it up to an external moniter it comes up. I have tested the memory, the inverter, I tried draining the battery and I even tried updating the graphics card and still nothing.
My dell inspiron 3250 started to shut down automatically these days. When i ran the Diagnostics its showing an error code : 2000-0511, Validation: 78746 .
This computer is my friends. I don't know what she did to it. I have fixed it before but this has been running a for hours and the same message stays there.
"HP 2000 error failure configuring windows update revertong changes do not turn off computer"
I got my Inspiron 1520 and discovered a little chippng on top and a missing wireless switch. Also I was kinda misled by the sales representative into buying the 4 GRAM,which the system can't even fully recognize.
So after A LOT of call waiting and negotiation it came down to: 15.4'' 1280x800glossy+Intel Duo2 Core 7500 2.2GHz+4G 667MHz RAM+120G 5400rpm disk+Geforce8600M GT with everything else default for $1489.
Now I'm seriously torn between this bizzarely configured Inspiron a big part of which I will never need and the Alienware Aurora.I'm not a big hardware wiz and I mainly need a laptop for mid-high end gaming (not the real crazy pixel monsters but like Neverwinter Nights 2 and Heroes of Might and Magic V etc)as well as college routines.
i have a dell xps m1530 that has the t9300 processor and it got damaged so then dell decided they would send me a replacment system
