I am an owner of a dell inspiron n5040 and im having the error code 2000-0142 on my laptop,
I was wondering if it was possible for someone to check out what problem causes my laptop to not work properly.
I have a Dell Inspiron 15R laptop that is 2 weeks out of warranty, and have only owned this laptop for 1 year from new. On Jan. 1 2015 i started my new year with a 2000-0142 code as i started up my computer, so i could skype my family and friends wishing them a happy new year. After doing some serious investigating with family, friends and the internet i found that this is a common problem with Dell's Hard Drive's and they seem to do nothing to rectify this issue...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Inspiron N5050 that is 8 mos old and is rarely used. When turned on, it shows windows loading files bar, then a start up repair screen but does not go beyond that. When I exit that screen, it shuts down. I restarted it and ran the F12 diagnostic test and it showed a fail with error code 2000-0142. This should still be under warranty because I bought the computer on 8/4/12. Is there anything I can do on my side or will this need to be returned to Dell for evaluation?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI ran a diagnostics ePSA test on my Dell Inspiron 3540. It gave me the error detailed as:

My system is working fine except that whenever I play a video file in VLC, it stops close to the end and then after a while the system hangs.
On the start-up diagonstic the error code 2000-0146 came up. The computer is booting fine, though sometimes does not shuts down properly. Should I look into getting a new hard drive right now. Is it going bad?
View 15 Replies View RelatedBasically the hard drive (of my XPS m1530) has been going a bit slower than usual recently.
I figured it was just Vista been more sluggish than usual.
So I decided I'd back it up, wipe it and install my new copy of Windows 7 RTM.
After booting from the DVD, setup stopped halfway through giving me this '0x00000e9' error code.
I subsequently ran the dell diagnostics.
Which gave me this :
Hard Drive - DST
Test Results : Fail
Error code 2000-0142
Msg : hard drive 1 - Self test unsuccessful.
Status : 70
My laptop model is DELL XPS 11. when i press the power on button, the Dell logo came out and it loads "preparing automatic repair...", then the whole screen turned black, there is nothing on the screen but I can only see the mouse cursor.
What did i do?I rebooted the laptop and immediately pressed F12 to go into diagnotics. After scanning, there was an error code 2000-0142 and the error message was Hard drive 0 - short self test unsuccessful. I even tried to use recovery media to factory reset my laptop, but it failed.I did not open up my laptop to check for any cable connection problems, because I dont know if it will void my warranty. My laptop is still under warranty.
I recently received the 2000-0142 error when running the diagnostics on my 7720 laptop. I found this to be a hard drive error and purchased another hard drive. After installing the new hard drive I received the 2000-0332 error.
resolving the 2000-0332 error to get my laptop back up and running?
When i have done my diagnostic test in my windows 7 inspiron laptop it shows error code0142
What i need to do now to get my lap in a working conditions
I am using dell inspiron 3521 windows 8 preloaded. Whenever i start my laptop. It stuck on dell logo with full blue bar. And after few minutes, a blue screen shows that some files are missing. Error code: 0xc0000185.
When i diagnosed..its showing error code 0142. Hard drive error. And when i force it to boot. It shows in black screen with white letters "no bootable device found, press any key". And when i press any key.. Its repeating the same error... Now i dont know what is happening.. Warranty over..
I have these problem for my computer when I do the pre-boot system assesment build 4129 test.
I still can operate my computer. I already re install, but it still automatic restart sometime, and will display the blue screen and display the error kernel-data-inpage-error.
My dell laptop will load the dell screen but then go black. It had windows 7 on it. So I went under and selected diagnostic test under adipto? In which I am use to seeing a Bios screen labled Bios. The diagnostic ran but and passed everything except my hard drive. It recognizes and list on the Blue screen HDD Fixed and list a number. BUT under my diagnostic ut list the following code. 2000-0151 Vadlidation 62721 Msg : Hard Drive 0- #########, incorrect status =3E.
Do I need a new hard drive or does this mean I have bad sectors?
I updated my Windows 7 and conduct a Defrag since i moved at least 400GB of Files to my External HD. After The windows finished installing the Update and reboot my System, BSOD appeared and reboot my system. I tried LKGC and all Safemode but still the same. I run the Diagnostic via F12 and i received an error below.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy hard drive went bad (CHKDSK fails), so I replaced it. When it boots, I see the Dell starting up screen with F2 and F12 options but then it immediately displays a black screen with the text "Operating System Not Found". I've tried to press F12 with no luck, it always displays "Operating System Not Found". I double checked to ensure the hard drive is not loose and everything looks fine.
View 3 Replies View RelatedInspiron N7110 . Wouldn't boot in to regular windows. I booted in to safe mode and tried to run chkdsk in system mechanic. it only got to about 20% and hung up. Now it won't boot at all. It isn't recognizing the hard drive. Is there a way to have the bios look for the hard drive? Running win7 64bit
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy T500 was slammed very hard one day, once I reboot, it worked for half hour and gave up. I tested it via BIOS, it gave me error code 0000 read verification failed.
I presumed the HD is dead, inserted a healthy one inside and works fine for a couple of hours and gave up again, tested through BIOS gave me the same error code.
This morning the fan on my XPS13 L322x came on and now won't turn off.
I ran the diagnostics and the fan test failed;
Error Code = 2000-0511, Validation 100696
During the test I noted these temps
CPU = 44
Ambient = 44
Chipset = 66
I'm running Ubuntu and have BIOS A06 currently.
I forgot the bios password I have a hp 2000-20th.

I cannot get into my HP 2000-2d19WM, and the system disabled code is 52219959. This code shows up after I fail to put in an administator password....
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy drive is working properly at the moment but has this error (video here) and it seems critical.
I have already backed up important files.
The model is Inspiron N5110 R15 and it's the stock hard drive.
Ok I have a Dell 3521 Laptop and the hard drive went bad. So I have replaced the hard drive and did diagnostics on it and everything went fine. So I put in my burned copy of the back up and it started running. It got half way through then gave me a hard drive error. So now I am stuck what is going on with this. I just want to get my laptop back up and running.

i am getting an hard disk error code while running diagnostics: 2000-0151 validation: 18339 incorrect status = 3E.
when i inserted the hard disk in PC it somehow managed to boot with the os(w8) in the hard drive.
Any how the hard disk response rate is little slow. but in my laptop it stops with BIOS and doesn't proceed further.
Is it a hard drive error or some problem in mother board.
I am trying to fix my GF laptop model STUDIO 1535. This laptop is two years old or so. It was showing randomly blue screens on win xp sp3, so I checked forums and recommended to do a cleaning. I opened the lid, cleaned the fan ( it had a big ball of fur that prevented the fan to move) and cleaned the rest of the mb with the vacuum cleaner. Now it doesn't work anymore. I tried to disconnect and connect the HD but still the same error. I ran the diagnostic and gave me this error 2000-0141.
Should I change the mb, the hd, the hd connector?
My HP 2000 is currently saying that a SMART hard disk check has detected an imminent failure.
Upon running hardware diagnostics I was given a failure ID of: 6CX1VS-70P7AE-MFGJWK-60BA03
My Product ID is: E0M17UA#ABA
I am wondering what my options are. My PC is still under warranty and I would prefer to not lose the data I have on this hard-drive.
Whenever I boot up my laptop without the AC adapter plugged in I get a beeping error. 00C08270 Real Time Clock error pops up on the screen before start up. From my research it tells me that it could be the CMOS battery or the motherboard. If it's the CMOS battery I'm willing to replace the battery myself but if it's the motherboard I will probably need to go to the shop for that. What I'm afraid of is the cost. If my problem is the CMOS battery I don't know where to buy the battery replacement myself and if it's the motherboard, is it worth it to pay the cost of replacement and from what I know paying for a new OS too? or should I buy a new laptop instead?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a hp 2000 2b09wm. It just broke, giving me the error message saying in so many words that I needed a new hard drive. Guess the old one went kaput (even though i just bought this pc on eBay not a month or two ago). So, I have a new hard drive now, but no OS. Is there anyway to retrieve my Windows 8 from the busted hd, or do I also now have to pay for a brand new OS?
I do have a SATA/USB cable that could possibly aid in the transfer if it is possible.
