I've got a e1705 with a FX 2500M in it . 2G of ram, and a T2400 intel processor.
I got a copy of Neverwinter Nights 2 for free, so I went to play it. I was cruising along making my character, when my laptop shut off! I restarted, and it said it stopped because of temperature. So, I started up core temp so I could watch the temp, and restarted the game. Once I got into the game, and it's all that was running, neither of my cores went above 110 degrees F. Then, it shut down again. I was not running all the 'options' to make it pretty, but I was running it at 1920x1200. I dropped it down some so I could monitor the temps (same ratio, just a little smaller).
I updated my drivers to the newest MovileForce Drivers, and want to retest, but figured I'd also watch my card temps, to see if that was causing the shutdown?
I installed fangui, and no gpu temp is listed. I also was going to try nvtemplogger, but it said something like my card isn't capable of temperature monitoring?
So, how do I monitor it? Does my card have the ability to output it's temp to one of the tools?
I have a dv7t with a Fujitsu 250GB 5400rpm HDD. I've tried multiple programs including HWMonitor and non of them are able to tell me what my HDD temp is. Why can't I monitor my HDD temps?
But can anybody recommend any good monitoring software for Vista, 32bit?
On my desktop I use "dtemp", to show the harddrive temp in the sys tray, but dtemp cant read the hdd temp on my HP
And an another program for showing the cpu load or/and cpu clock in the sys tray..? tried NHC 2 pre 06, but it hangs when I go to settings to configure the program..
Im thinking about purchasing a FX2500M from ebay, but my question is, will it be able to perform the same as a 7950GTX if I OC it?
Because I heard that the 7950GTX is just a OC'd 7900GTX / 2500M. And I believe the difference between 7900GTX and 2500M is none, except the FX2500M is optimized for OpenGL stuff, which actually makes it better than a 7900GTX? Am I correct?
Also, does the FX2500M have a higher OC limit than the 7950GTX, since the 7950GTX is already OC'd?
I have problem with my video card in inspiron 9400.It's overheated.I can use just in a lowest resolution.there is a lot of strange symbols and squares on the screen.I have few questions.
Do you now how to fix it?Is it gpu to change?I have some skills to change some elements on the bord but i dont't now what to change.I dont need so good video card,
so maybe anybody have some cheap video card to sell?Or do you now any service where i can fix it ( ireland, uk).I have not so much money to buy new one because they are very expensive. So please if anybody can answer my question.
After trying many drivers and having many questions left unanswered, I decided I wanted to try this route to see how it goes.
I was told when I bought my FX2500m that I could flash it with the 7900GTX BIOS since they are both the same card basically.
I'm having problems where I can play some games no problem, and others lock-up after only seconds of play, sifting through 5 drivers (NBF and Xtreme-G) I decided either I have a faulty card or maybe the FX2500m doesn't have a shader or whatever that some of the games I'm testing it with need.
I only have a couple more days to report this card as a DoA so I'm wanting to test all the possibilities before (possibly) shipping it back.
Long story short, can someone give me a link to a 7900GTX BIOS? And give me a quick run-down on how to go about actually doing the flash and backing up my own?
what is the best (best performance/most stable) driver out there for a FX2500m? Haven't heard much mention of the XTreme-G drivers on these forums, so I was just curious.
I found the thread here... [url] and the website here... [url] and the quote here...

Find a driver you like, and stick with it. There is no such thing as a 'Super Driver' at this point.
But my thead still stands, between those tested, what do you think?
I'll edit this first post with updates so people won't have to sift through this thread to see all my information..............
I installed the FX2500M upgrade on Monday, and last night I did a reapplication of the AS5 on the cpu, and when I put everything back in and booted back up....NOTHING!!! The screen was very very dim, although the image was visible, which made me first think it was a power issue with the lcd display. Plugged in an external monitor, picture comes out fine, but i8kfangui can't read the GPU's temp anymore?
So I chat with the infamous people over at Dell, and to my surprise, within 10 minutes they promise a replacement display. I think my problems are solved.
But just for kicks, I throw in my old ATI Radeon X1400 in and lo and behold....the big DELL BIOS logo pops up, bright and beautiful! Everything is back to normal, except now I don't have the wonderful graphics performance that my FX2500M was giving me.
Now I'm absolutely lost...how could the FX2500M be producing a dim image on the laptop display if it outputs perfectly to an external monitor? I find no correlation between the back light of the lcd display and the output of the GPU, especially if another gpu works fine.
I am replacing my Dell Inspiron 9400 current video card which is a Dell nVidia 7900GS 256MB(dual heat pipes) with a Dell FX2500M 512MB video card.I want to know if it will work ok??I know I have to get a PA-13 for a XPS M1710 power supply to replace the PA-10 supply and I already modded my housing corner by removing the extra metal on the left side to fit the second heat pipe.I have the current bios of A09 in my Inspiron 9400.Besides getting the PA-13 power supply,9 cell battery(already got a 9Cell battery),and the latest Dell video drivers,am I missing anything?
I installed a FX2500M 512mb card in my Dell Inspiron 9400.I played Battlefield 2142 using high settings on all the options including 2X AA,1600x1200 resolution etc and after about 3-4 hrs straight of non stop gaming,I noticed my screen graphics getting "shaky"during gameplay. Is this normal because of the max settings I was using?
Just installed the card instead of the broken one (fx2500 as well) that was installed on my laptop for about one year. After reassembling the computer and turning it on nothing is happen on the screen although the HD and DVD driver are making the noises and leds are on as well. Reinstalling the bad card returns me to the previous condition when i see all screen pixeled with gibrish and finally crashing the system immediately after windows is finishing to load.
On the new card (purchased from eBay as used item in good condition for 260$) i noticed Rev A02 instead of A00 on the broken card. Do you think that the problem is revision or the card is just piece of crap? Any idea to get it back to Rev A00?
I recently just purchased and received a fancy Dell e6400 from one of the many dell deals. My eyes are light sensitive from looking at many computer screens over the years and due to this I avoid LCD screens and much prefer flat CRT monitors. My goal is to use the e6400 as my workstation computer while using the VGA out to power my 19in Sony CRT .....
i dissasembled my presario cq60 and when i put it together the monitor won't activate.
i tried using an external monitor and the monitor refused to turn on from standby, a safety feature of the monitor. the small card in the underneath with 2 wires leading 2 the monitor, (i assume that is the laptop version of a graphics card) is fine, inserted properly, and i had a slight issue with the plugs fitting, but that was soon resolved.
I have an HP DV 6000T. I just bought a HP Elite M9510f Desktop from HP.com, and I don't have a monitor yet, so I am trying to connect my Desktop VGA to my Laptop VGA in and use my DV6000T as a monitor.
I also have a Sharp TV which I tried using as a monitor but the thing keeps flashing the Power and OPC lights and won't let me see anything.
Anyway I can make my Laptop monitor work with my desktop for the time being?
i thought my air-intake was pretty hot so i checked with speedfan - and i get 47 idle on my CPU! (Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T9400 @ 2.53GHz) is that normal?
I used to have a 3670 motherboard and dell gave me a 4670 and everything is great, but I can no longer see gpu temp in the monitor. I could at first and some how it's just gone now.
i just received my sxps 16 ... generally very happy with it ..but when the cpu in full load for like 5 mins .. the cpu temp will shoot to very high about 85'C ..is it normal ?
I have my m1530 for almost two years, and in last 2 months (after I've installed windows 7) i'm having troubles with my graphic card (nvidia g8600m gt). The problem is that in every game after few minutes there is a sudden drop of FPS. For example if i have a FPS of 50 after 2-5 minutes it goes down to 20. I checked my CPU and Memory load but there is nothing strange. I have latest Nvidia drivers: 197.16 I also included as attachment a log file of GPU load and temp after playing 10 minutes of CoD 5.
I'm wondering if there's something wrong with the heatsink on my m1330. It seems like the fan never turns off of full and the palm resets are always pretty warm (although it is summer and I don't use my AC).
I idle around 54C on both cores of my t8300. Is this normal or should I replace the thermal pad/paste?
I noticed that when idle the temperature slowly goes up to 65C, then the fan kicks in, lowers it to 45 and stops. The temperature goes up again and in about 2 minutes it is already 65 again. The process repeats indefinitely.
i have Dell inspiron 1300 and bought manhattan cooling pad. Till then i always noticed cpu and hdd temp changes in real time, without rebooting my notebook.
When i stared this pad everything was nice, notebook worked for 8h no stop, with cpu temp 39c and hdd 34c. When i reboted notebook cpu temp jumped to 51c and hdd was same (about 34). I repeated this and i got 51c again....
i was reading a few other posts about idle temps of the GPU in the XPS 1530 and my temps are way above what everyone else is getting.
I have an idle GPU temp of approx 80-88 degrees celsius. I mean i could maybe expect that under a heavy load, but an idle temp??? The fan seems to be on all the time.
