I am using Dell Inspiron 15, Model 3520. I bought laptop in January 2013 and its started giving this kind of error.
When I am using it continuously its working fine , when i go away from system(kept idle for sometime) it gets shutdown. So I need to re-login and it closes all the application which i was using before shutdown.
I already did some initial checks like scanning entire system for virus(i hardly have any data on system) and Dell online PC Check which passes all the test.
Have Inspiron 3520 with W8 - daughter has infected it via Minecraft update. Original issue was dark screen and beeping, 8 at a time. Put on a external monitor and am going through the long process of digging out the bugs with anti-virus and malware removal programs.
Question is this - how can I stop the infernal beeping? It starts up if I insert the power cord or disconnect/connect the external monitor. Is there any way to silence it?
When I start up my laptop, it makes a beeping sound then tells me something along the lines of,"AC power adapter wattage and type cannot be determined."And when I press F2, it tells me that my battery is operational but it is on idle but the lights on the battery do not glow. When I get it started up, on the actual home screen with icons and everything, if I hover above the battery icon it tells me, "Plugged in, not charging."
My AC power adapter has a small led light on it, and it is green. Before this, my laptop used to get very very hot, to the point that I could not even put it on my lap for too long. I would also sometimes put it on my bed where there is fabric. Also, there is a break on the AC adapter at the very top near where it gets plugged in. I also ran a diagnostic test and it gave me back a code, 2000-0142 .....
Also, my laptop is significantly slower and I am using an Inspiron 1521
I fitted a new LCD panel to an Inspiron 3520. Upon boot, it showed the Dell logo, then went all white and then displayed a grid made up of RGB pixels across the screen. I checked the panel was connected properly and the tried to reboot but now the screen doesn't power up at all. The laptop also now plays 4 beeps while trying to boot. I've tried connecting an external monitor, but it also does not display anything an plays the 4 beeps.
I have a 4 year old Dell which I have had cleaned and maintained by Dell services in order to keep temperatures and hardware in check.
However, I am constantly experiencing an "Event" according to Event viewer, or "Event 6008". What it says is "Computer shutdown at X time unexpectedly."
I have monitored temperatures, have all latest drivers for all components, yet I continually get the same crash. The computer goes completely off, no bluescreen, no error. I used "Who Crashed" in an attempt to record a dump file, but it keeps coming empty.
The error/crash occurs only during games, some more frequent than others. I have tried all possible options for those games, low to high settings/resolutions/etc, no background programs running - no difference.
Some days, the error/crash occurs more rarely when unplugged and running on battery(which don't last more than an hour), and once I plug it in to charge it, it starts crashing in a few minutes.
It is also running Windows 7 64-bit, upgraded from the stock Vista(where the error/crash also kept occuring).
The laptop is a Dell Studio 1555(the widescreen version). I took it to one of Dell's shop for them to "fix it", tho after running all their stress tests they told me there is nothing wrong with the computer. So 7 completely different games crash the computer, but Dell's stress tests fail to identify what is wrong with it?
I am facing unexpected shutdowns while playing games. I have a Dell Inspiron 14z (n411z). Its about 7 months old. In the beginning , games worked very well on it but now when I try to play the same games the laptop shut downs without any warning. I ran the Dell diagnostics from the boot menu and it said, "Warning. One or more thermal sensors were out of range." and it was highlighting the cpu thermistor...
my Laptop computer switches off unexpectecdly (without warning) when on battery, at times without getting to Low Battery Level or the Critical Level. when i do HP Battery Check with HP Support Assistant on my laptop, the result i get is my Battery is good.
Another issue i am having is that my Laptop doesnt go to sleep after some minutes of idleness as it was set to do on battery or plugged in to power. any information i can get on resolving these issues.
Product name: HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit Service Pack 1 Aged 2 years 1 month.
For the past few days, I woke up to my laptop's fan rather loud spinning. I noticed that my computer was constantly at 100% CPU usage even with like literally no processes opened, and it's idling ~50C.
It's to the point where moving my mouse across the screen lags, the pointer jumps from one spot to another.
I'm not really sure what the problem is, I ran AVG with no problem, and I don't remember doing anything to my computer in the past few days that would be considered abnormal...in fact, the only thing I did do was try to use a screensaver for the first time ever, but I turned it off with no difference,
My 1530 has recently been overheating when left idle for a while(30 min or so). When I come back I find that the fans stop working, the system overheats and the laptop restarts with blazing temperatures.
In order to turn the fans back on, I have to shutdown the laptop and then switch it back on
Just got new Latitude E6520 and fan seems to never shut off. Left side of laptop always hot even when computer is idle. I can hear fan being constantly on. Is it enough to raise support request or what do I do?
I have had my laptop for about a year already. Once every session (every time I turn on and shut down), my laptop randomly and unexpectedly freezes. The freezing issue last up 1 min - 2 min. Thinking it was a virus, I restored the laptop back to factory settings. The freezing continued.
It seems as if the first time after I restart my laptop (Dell inspiron 7000 series, windows 8.1) and I attempt to use the volume/ backlight toggle/ brightness/ etc keys found on the F keys on my keyboard, I can use them pretty much freely. The problem is after I close my laptop for the first time since restarting I then have to hold the Fn button to use them. It can be very annoying at times considering you eventually get used to holding the Fn key, so after the first time using them since restarted you end up hitting F4/5/6 etc instead of changing the brightness or whatever setting you are trying to change. I was wondering if there was some type of setting where I can make these keys permanently free to use as opposed to having to hold the Fn keys after the first time the laptop is in sleep mode.
the driver driver struck in infinite loop.I tried running the PSA (Pre-boot System Assessment) diagnostics and check if there is any problem with the video card by tapping F12 key.It passes without any errors and i am able to boot the system to windows screen. I also to uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers to fix the problem but of no use.Main Problem is ATI X 1300 graphics which is going in infinite loop and Blue Screen.
I have been using dell inspiron 3521 for a year now and my warranty expired recently. After two three days of warranty expiration my laptop started to overheat when i played fifa 14 and shutdown unexpectedly in the middle of the game. The game worked smoothly for hours when i used to play it before my warranty expiration date.

I bought a new Dell Inspiron 3520 in November 2012 with Windows 8. Since then, I have been trying to use the CD/DVD player but unable to do so. When I insert a disc in the drive, nothing happens. Whether it is music CD or data CD, nothing happens. Am I supposed to do anything different?
I have installed a new HDD in my laptop but when I try to boot from the system disk to load the O/S I get the following message "Internal HDD not found". The BIOS sees the HDD but the laptop doesn't.
recently i purchased one dell inspiron 3520 laptop, but some of my software is not compatible with windows 8 operation system. where i can get the drivers for windows xp sp3 and i want to have dual operating system on laptop windows 8 with windows xp sp3.

I have 4 numbers now for dell

I first called about a bios password that was given but after it was erased the bios that is now i am being presented with a hdd lock 3 times and it shuts off no error code this is not a 595b legacy system i am familiar with dell but this is more work then requesting a carrier subsidy unlock.
My Dell Inspiron 3520 screen goes grey with horizontal lines during use. It reminds me of an old TV except the lines do not scroll. It started after I upgraded from 8 to 8.1.
I have DELL 3520 with window7 64 Bits, I have installed QuickSet 64 bit drivers from Dell website.
The brightness doesn't get reduced when I press fn+F4, However, when I press this, one image appears which shows that brightness is being reduced but it get reduced only by 1 point, doesn't matter how much time I press fn+F4.
I am operating a Dell Inspiron 3520 and have been having trouble with the machine powering down and becoming unresponsive with screen tilt (not closure). The computer appears to be functioning normally until I tilt the screen forward, at which time the screen goes black and all lights indicating power turn off, as if the machine has powered down. I cannot make the machine power on again for some time until I have taken the battery out, put it back, and pressed the power button several times. This problem has occurred more frequently in recent days and I currently cannot turn the machine on to troubleshoot.
My fear is a dysfunction in the sleep trigger within the screen/lid closure system.
I purchased dell Inspiron 3520 with Linix OS. i formatted and installed Windows 7 home premium. downloaded and installed all driver files from dell website. no device is unidentified in the device manager. everything is fine except the blue tooth. Device manager shows bluetooth as working and i can click the bluetooth icon in system tray. but strange thing is it wont detect any Bluetooth devices. another issue i observed is that when i try to install a Dell device driver for blue tooth it will generate an error message "Activate Bluetooth Using Wireless Switch". i tried FN +F2 key but it works with wireless only. i tried PC health checkup utility . and all kind of checking. checked bios whether Bluetooth is disabled. i could not find option to enable bluetooth. tried windows update.
I have a inspiron 3520 laptop. A little over a year old. Lately my screen has been going white with black lines and swirls going through it. Sometimes it will clear right up and sometimes I have to restart the computer. I have tried installing My Dell Client but it will not install.
So i start up my dell today. Worked fine lastnight, no issues. At the dell screen(just the dell name, black screen) i see this pop up. "Start pxe over ipv4" so i wrote that down.
Then i get pxe-e18:server response time out. Great i think to myself. Next is : Start pxe over ipv6. After a bit i see Pxe-e16:no offer received.
Laptop is an inspiron 3520 running windows 8. Would like to know what this thing means, online searching hasnt worked.
