If you navigate to the drivers' download page for Inspiron 7520, you will notice under "BIOS" that there is a version A11 (released date: October 15, 2012) available for download.However, the small print says "Applies to: Dell Vostro 3560 system BIOS". Is it safe to flash my current BIOS version A04 to A11 for my Inspiron 7520? If not, why is that item listed in the first place?

However, once I select the operating system, it gives the loading symbol and never moves forward. I've waited a half hour to no effect. I tried looking up other laptops and their driver pages loaded immediately, so I don't believe it's on my end. Is there a problem with the page?
I am thinking of buying one of the new macbook pro's when they come out soon, hopefully. But, I have one questions. I play WoW and COD4 on my windows desktop. When I switch to mac, can I download the mac version of these games for free and play? Or do I have to buy the mac retail versions?

Since the details of the A14 version indicate that it includes an "Intel CPU microcode update", must I FIRST UPGRADE with this A14 version before I THEN upgrade with the latest A17 version, or by simply upgrading directly with the A17 version, will this also include all previous updates, including the Intel CPU microcode update...
I am using n5050 model from last 2 years, now i increased memory to 8GB and also changed intel celeron to core i3 processor, now when i plug in AC adaptor my screen goes to blank for just 2 seconds, a technician said you update bios, i downloaded, but it says " same version can't be flashed " .... Dropped computer during move,lost all the disks and paperwork.Hard drive was damaged so purchased new one locally..Downloaded ISO win 7 86,installed used original validation.It booted up all fine but no drivers for mouse or Ethernet or wifi actually no drivers.Mouse works.
How can I download the drivers and save them to CD/DVD and install on machine.
I am trying to download drivers for a Dell Inspiron 14Z -N411Z to a USB drive through another laptop, because the hard drive on that Dell completely gave up. There is no installation software disc as it was on another partition on that same hard drive.
When I attempt to install the drives required to the USB drive on my Toshiba, it first wants to install the dsd.exe file before I can download the drivers. After I downloaded that dsd.exe file, I don't seem to find a way to install the required drivers as well. the DellSystemDetect.exe file wants to do that for me, but it is not on the correct laptop.
What do I need to do, to get those drivers downloaded on the USB, so I can complete the installation. I already installed the Windows 7 Home Premium (x64) on the Dell laptop.

Recently, my HDD and DVD drive went-off together and Dell replaced the parts.
Since new HDD has been placed, support team installed Windows 7 Home Premium and I had a excellent booting time of 20 seconds (total boot time, BIOS A07, no mSATA).
While upgrading Dell drivers for bluetooth,prompted for BIOS update and upgraded it now.
After upgrading my BIOS to A09, now my BIOS boot time itself 19 seconds, and windows boot time is 23 seconds.
Why previously good performance went down after upgrading BIOS...
Anyone know if this is for any reason aside from processor compatibility? Any other fixes / Issues?

View 13 Replies View RelatedDuring the normal boot process I see the Bluetooth symbol light up but only for a few seconds then it switches off.
Only once was I able to open the bios setup of my x201T Type 3113 to select Bluetooth. I cannot recall how I did this but now neither the ThinkVantage button, F1, F8 or F12 will open up bios setup that has a Bluetooth selection page. Any bios setup that does open has no page that mentions Bluetooth.
What must I do do get this page again so that I can enable Bluetooth?

I just bought a T7500 processor to upgrade my Aspire 5315. I understand that a bios upgrade should be performed before replacing the cpu. I read about some problems with bios version 1.34 and some went back to 1.33 and there is a new bios 1.43 now.

1. Dell 32 Bit Diagnostics CW1344A0, after extracting it's giving error code 110.
2.Dell Controlpoint Ambient Light Sensor A00 - R191268, same erroe code 110, but when I try to download it again, can't find it at the website anymore....
3. Dell ControlPoint Connection ManagerApplication A11 - R207458, this one is pain in the a$$, waited for so long to download this(huge file), it only extract up to below 50% .....

View 15 Replies View RelatedI have a HP Pavilion dv6-6154tx laptop. My current version of BIOS installed is Hewlett-Packard F.1B, 05/10/11.I wanted to check if my BIOS is up to date, and if there was a newer version of BIOS available.
So I went to the HP Support page for laptops (URL...) and chose Pavilion Notebooks > Models dv4000 to dv6999 > dv6000 Entertainment Notebook PC series > Matching products outside the United States.
But alas, I could not find my laptop's model listed there. There's dv6150tx and then it jumps to dv6161ea, but no dv6154tx. Is there any other way I can update my laptop's BIOS?
I own a Dell 7520 and it has four 3.0 usb ports. However, I have discovered that one program I use does not support Intel 3.0 USB ports only USB 2.0 ports. So the only port that program will use is the Realtek USB card reader on the 7520 because that is a native 2.0 port.
According to a poster Innogen on the Intel support forum "The BIOS in my Dell Inspiron 7520 allows me to disable it so that the USB 3.0 ports revert to USB 2.0 functionality." but I can't find any such functionality in my BIOS (using version A06).

I tried uninstalling the Intel USB 3.0 drivers in WIn 7 Ultimate hoping that when I rebooted it would install USB 2.0 drivers but it simply reinstalled the USB 3.0 drivers.
I would really like to get this program working on my computer and while I am not happy about losing USB 3.0 functionality I can live with it until the vendor gets its act together and starts to support Intel USB 3.0.
What is going on with updating the Bios with Dell laptops? I have a Dell M4500 precision laptop. I'm running Windows 7 pro 64 bit an I7 quad processor and 8 gigs of memory. I can't update the bios past V 07. When I looked through the support posts I found people asking the same question and when I did a search I found over 300.000 hits for the same problem many Dell laptops. What I have NOT found is Dell addressing the problem. Is it the update engine it's self or a problem with the computers? I installed all the patches and all the updates for my computer except the Bios.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI just got my 7520 and have wiped Vista off it and installed Ubuntu and Xp, my nix is fine I am havin trouble finding drivers for XP and most of the vista drivers dont work in XP, I have managed to find Wifi and sound worked pretty much straight away but cant seem to find anything else that will work for me..... anyone got any ideas to help with this, I have tried driver download apps(like driver detective) and they dont seem to want to find the nvidia graphics driver.

I recently had a new motherboard installed on my Dell Inspiron 8600 (by local repair guy - not Dell).
I'm doing a clean install of xp pro and downloading the drivers from the Dell website.
I entered my service code to get all the right drivers, but one of the downloads is System Bios A14 (optional). Should I download and install that or not?..
just like my sony laptop FW510f, it have the ATI 4650, but the GPU frequency is 450 and memory is 600. i think dell can do like it to avoid the fan's noisy(its runs when i press the start button), and the throttling problem.
BTW: my 1647's fan keep spin and the gpu temp is 50 when its idle, is it normal? the ambient no more than 20c
I purchased a Latitude D505 from a police auction and the BIOS setup is locked by password. It will not allow me change setups, such as system time.
Under system security it shows Primary Password unabled, Admin Password Enabled, Configure Setup Disabled and Configure Password enabled.
I need to clear these in order to setup new HDD and operating system.
