I am facing serious issue with wirless adapter in my laptop. When ever system is on idle for 15 min continuously WiFi signal opened then system will reboot with blue error screen showing hardware problem .

I have an Ideapad Y510P with 24G SSD and Windows 8.1. I uninstalled the Express cache by a mistake. So I want to re-install it. Unfortunately, the install program told me that I need to reboot the system even I tried to reboot or shut down the system several time.

Every time I start my laptop Inspiron n5110, it goes to the blue error screen where it says 'collecting data for crash dump'. It usually happens in under a minute after starting the laptop. Once the screen shows I have to force restart by pressing the power key for few seconds.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSo i bought a Dell Inspiron n5050 5 months ago . The first day i got it i went to play games with my friends and stayed at least 10 hours playing.
The next day it went slower , in fact in minecraft the first day it was running on 120fps and on the next day about 70 - 60.
also , the laptop kept on getting blue screens and black screens and sometimes didnt turn on.
I still play games like League of Legends and Minecraft with friends and now the fps suddenly dropped . in minecraft 70 - 60 to 20 - 30 and in league of legends constant lag when someone uses a skill / attacks.
Whenever i go to sleep i just close my laptop , i dont shut it down and also i run at least 6 hours a day. Ive also heard that it might be the cooling fan that has dust in it, however im not sure. I want it to run smooth again . Ive reseted to factory setting twice and its still running slow.
I have just attempted to do a factory reset of my wifes Laptop which appeared to have gone OK until the system attempted to reboot.

I have read through the bits I can find in the forum and Google and have set the Sata to "enabled" in Power Management, as suggested, but still no luck.
I have also tried a windows repair as I have the discs supplied, both the Operating System (Win XP) and the driver disc but still can't move on.
I'm not sure if there is a problem with the community website but in the search box I keep getting a message when searching to say .. error retrieving file ....
The laptop was supplied with Norton Ghost but I think all of that must have been wiped when I initially did the Factory reset.
I have an Inspiron N5050 that is 8 mos old and is rarely used. When turned on, it shows windows loading files bar, then a start up repair screen but does not go beyond that. When I exit that screen, it shuts down. I restarted it and ran the F12 diagnostic test and it showed a fail with error code 2000-0142. This should still be under warranty because I bought the computer on 8/4/12. Is there anything I can do on my side or will this need to be returned to Dell for evaluation?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was formatting dell inspiron N5050, first we created recovery disks, I tried to do a system recovery first off the partition, after which I was recieveing a BSOD, so I used the recovery disk we created to do the system recovery again this time there was no BSOD however after it said it was setting up windows for first use, it brought me to a log in screen with no user name, asking for a user name and password. It will not accept any of my friends old user names and passwords, I am unable to log into the administrator, and I am unable to log into safe mode cause it needs to set up windows 7 for the first use. How can we log into windows?

When I try to connect my laptop to an Acer monitor with an HDMI cable, it gives me a no signal error. But when the same laptop is connected to a Philips monitor using the same cable, it works perfectly. As usual I thought that the monitor was the culprit, but when I connected another laptop to the Acer monitor using the same cable it worked without any errors. So where does the problem lie. The HDMI cable is OK, the laptop is also OK as also the Acer monitor?

In which I am use to seeing a Bios screen labled Bios. The diagnostic ran but and passed everything except my hard drive. It recognizes and list on the Blue screen HDD Fixed and list a number. View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my XPS 17 for a week and have run into problems. Initially, I had no problems but two days after owning the machine, picked up the first: I opened up the laptop lid and was met by a message, the gist of which was 'Windows has recovered from a blue screen error' . I rebooted and put that message in my 'lets wait and see if that happens again' memory bank.
Things went well after that until I tried installing and using a game, which would have been the first time I'd used my GT 555M graphics card in anger. Installation went well but after starting the game, the screen started flickering, messages started appearing in the bottom right hand corner of the screen saying 'graphics has malfunctioned but recovered', or something to that effect, then the laptop crashed.
I tried updating drivers (I'm 100% sure they were compatible with my card) and this made my laptop even more unstable, throwing freeze after freeze, blue screen after blue screen and refusal to boot or shut down at me.
I decided to start from scratch and did a complete factory settings restore and upon first switch on (the laptop does it's 'setting up for first use' routine) was met with a blue screen error. The error details were as follows:

The laptop then rebooted itself and seemed to run just fine. I checked the device manager and it appears windows has shut down my GT 555M card as it was reporting problems.
I ran Dell diagnostics prior to the full factory restore and beside the fact it didn't pick up the GT 555M (it did test the Intel HD3000 and that was fine), it said all was fine.
I have just rerun the diagnostics after the restore and it seems the DVD drive is now having issues too:
OPU Test - not supported
Spindle Test - not supported
Tray Out Test - not supported

I formatted and did a fresh install of windows 7 RC x64. All devices were discovered.
I was having issues with the touchpad not responding after every other reboot so I installed the vista x64 driver from dell website. That resolved that issue.
Now I have been having constant blue screen 9f bccode crashes while the laptop is sleeping. When I open the lid I need to power on and it says windows shutdown unexpectedly

I own the Compaq presario laptop and in October it started giving me problems. I would get a blue screen with an error warning. This progressively got worse. It seems the only way I can get my computer to even power up is to lay it on it's side. Yesterday I resinstalled the restore disc. Now (still with it laying on its side) I am getting an error called Windows Boot manager. It says, "Windows failed to start, a recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix this problem, insert the windows installation disc and restart computer." I did a computer check on the hard drive when it was up a few days ago, and it seems to be fine. I am running windows vista.

I just recently removed vista and upgraded to Win7 32 bit. I tryed to add 4gb of RAM, due to the factory 1gb it came with. However got a Blue screen Error. After that I only installed 1 of/ 2gb stick of RAM and it worked.
My question is, I need 4gb of RAM for this c700, Should I update the Bios for Win 7. By doing so will the c700 allow me to install the 4gb of RAM and work?
My Dell Inspiro N5050 is having a few troubles. It was running absloulty fine yesterday and now when I power up, it sticks just before the logon page at just the black screen with the mouse. It even does the same if I try to start it in safe mode. I have run a BIOS which comes back clean. Have also tried the power off and hold the on button for 20 seconds but alas, the problem. I'm unable to do a system restore and cannot find the optipn for a factory restore.

View 9 Replies View RelatedYesterday before I went to eat lunch I turned on my laptpp and signed in. When I came back it had a blue screen with a kmode exception not handled error. After waiting an hour the getting data portion was stuck on 0 still so I forced turned it on. After that the moniter wouldn't turn on even though the laptop was on, I heard the turn on noise and could hear the fan running when I listened. I tried taking the battery out and holding the button for 30 seconds and putting it back in and after a few times it managed to turn on with the screen. But it froze at the start up logo and after another hour I turned it off and havnt been able to get the screen back on again. Is there anything else I could do?

Got an Inspiron n5050 in December 2011 and it worked fine until it decided to shut down and I manually turned it back on and it stopped at the screen showing the patents and won't progress past that, I've tried manually force starting from hard drive and also doing a diagnostics run and it reported that no problems were found.
