can I just pop them in my cd drive and install them? Should I do anything different first? Also noticed that my McAfee disck states..."This Cd only installs a trial version of your McAfee programs..
Assume for a second that you need to frequently exchange documents with people using Microsoft Office 2003 and 2007, and that you need to use an Office Suite that has a great UI, so that you can make great, professional looking Word documents in particular with ease.
Which office suite is the best, or if you selected "other", please say what office suite you are referring to.
I have ordered a Macbook Pro, but am totally stumped as to what I should do for an Office suite. If it helps, I can use Office 2007 like a pro and I love it!
I bought a dell inspiron 3520 recently. It has windows 8 installed. When i try to activate Microsoft office, it asks me for product key. My laptop does not have a COA sticked to it and i did not get a MPI card with the package delivered where this info is available.

I remember activating the software on my laptop and thought if I uninstall it on the control panel (add remove programs) I can just install it on my desktop. When I tried installing it on my desktop it tells me that the code is already been activated and gives me 30 chances to use it. How do I deactivate it and activate it on my desktop?
I own legit copy of Office 2007 Professional as I already activated it on my laptop. If need be I can take pictures of the cd's itself.

This is an Aspire 4530 running Vista.
The trial version expired and I wanted to uninstall it and install my own copy of Office 2003. But if course it would not uninstall - probably because I wasn't the real "Administrator" at the time. I followed the MS guide for forceably uninstalling and deleting the product, but that failed also.
The only recourse seems to be to re-install it from the 3 factory backup DVDs that I made when I got the laptop. But I have a feeling that all I can do is recover (overwrite) the C drive from the recovery DVDs - either all or nothing. Is that correct?
I switched from Office 2008 to Office 2004 because of visual basic. However, I am really annoyed with Office 2004. Unlike Windows counterpart or Office 2008, the toolbars are detached from the main window. I can't seem to figure out how to dock it either.

My Question: Can I simply delete the MS Office 2013 from my list of software already installed? Â I can't afford to buy it right now and have installed MS Office 2007.

My problem is that when I got to open a document that I've downloaded, I get the box asking me to buy, or try or enter my code for MS 2013. Â I don't know if I can just change how my system opens up attachments or not, but if I can just delete this program / I would rather do that since it is taking up space I could use for something else.Â
I currently am doing IT work for a remote co-worker and he said that his T430 only came with Lenovo Recovery discs and that he doesn't have any standalone Microsoft Office discs. Is there a download for the Microsoft Office Home and Business 2010 version that he's using that I can download to his machine, so I don't have to use the recovery discs for a factory reset?

I tried going to Microsoft's site to get the 2010 version, but when I entered his key, it said that there's no download available for the OEM version of Office 2010.
Does Microsoft Office take advantage of Ultra High Def or QHD screen resolution? Or, do you have to downgrade resoution to 1080p.

So I have a few questions. First and most importent of all, I need to know how long the battery will last, if its +7 hours i'm content.
Second, I have no idea what kind of wifi I need, I use that white Belgacom Digital TV Router so perhaps my fellow Belgians can help me on this? When I use system information it says my wifi in my current laptop is A/G/N.
Third, will I be able to install the newest microsoft office programs (I have 2003, 2007 and will most likely buy 2010 aswell) on windows xp home?
Last but not least, will I see a big difference if I upgrade from 1gb of 2gb of ram? I noticed a big difference on my current laptop when I upgraded my ram, but since that hp compac has a very weak processor, it might be pointless since that cpu might bottleneck the effect?
I have acer 5570-4011 laptop with vista home (and ubuntu on a separate partition). I rebooted from cd, using winxp pe, deleted all files on vista partition, except those in the root, and started to install win xp pro. After installation files were copied to the hard drive, I restarted without cd and when setup continued, it gave me "file ntkrnlmp.exe could not be loaded. Error code is 7".
On MS support site they say about ACPI or memory problems and suggest to press F7 during that step to skip ACPI check, but it doesnt help in my case.
How can I install WinXP ?

I used the official Windows USB installer to make a bootable USB of the ISO file. It booted fine, but after selecting the install option, I recieved a error that said "Windows cannot find the Microsoft Software License Terms. Make sure the installation sources are valid and restart the installation". It looked like this:
I use Office:Mac 2008, and I'm not a fan. But it's better than OpenOffice/NeoOffice (imo), and while I like a lot about iWork, the occasional small incompatibility -- and the fact that saving as .docx as default is troublesome -- is irritating.
For those of you who have been Mac users since Office '08 was released, I'm just curious as to whether there's a reason to expect that we might see a public beta put out by Microsoft in the coming few months -- long before this Fall/Winter 2010 release or whenever it's supposed to be -- so we can get cracking on that.

Trouble is when I insert my win7 home premium DVD into the drive and boot it, I get POST and then I get a black screen. It seems to be reading the drive and when I interrupt with the Esc key or open the DVD drive, I get a Windows menu explaining that the installation has been interrupted.

I am going to Davenport University and I have looked at the Dell University website and do not see it listed. I was told to call 1-800-695-8133 by the chat help because "not all schools are listed". When I called, the person I talked to did not understand what I wanted to know and got frustrated with me and placed me on eternal hold... So after sitting here like an idiot for a half hour waiting for her to get back I decided to call Davenport ... They have no idea what the code is.
So here I am ... Maybe there is someone out there going to Davenport University in Michigan and knows the code or maybe there is a list of the codes somewhere...
I've stayed away from McAfee and Norton for years, so I don't even know what an annual subscription to their virus definitions even costs anymore, BUT Dell's pushing a 1-year subscription McAfee subscription for $79, and 3-years for $99. Comparing the two makes the 3-year subscription look like a pretty good deal. Is it? Cnet seemed to like this latest release, but I don't know how much stock to put in that.

I have an INSPIRON E1505 with Windows XP. Â The McAfee protection was not working properly, so I contacted customer service. Â They checked my computer and said that I should contact the computer manufacturer because I have errors on CHKDSK. Yesterday, everything was running smoothly. My MBP was churning away running Fusion with an instance of XP, nothing too major. Today though, the video is out completely. I can't even get to the option menu on bootup to get it to switch to a Boot Camped Windows 7 (the boot up screen doesn't even show). So... what do I do now? The warranty is out. Am I out of luck? Any tricks I can try? I do plan on taking it to the nearby Apple store to see what they can do. I vaguely remember hearing something about the NVidia chips burning out, but the thing is I wasn't doing anything graphics intensive to begin with.
I even thought I might have dimmed the screen all the way, but using the keyboard to brighten it up didn't solve it. It wouldn't work anyway since even the boot screen doesn't show anything (not even the grey screen).

Tried with and without battery but same. Fan starts and in a se laptop is off. I have removed HDD and put it back and same to ram. Also did power reset by holding on power button for a minute without battery plugged in but no luck.
