I will be buying a new laptop in Sep. and I would like to know if there is a list of schools and there codes for the student discount...
I am going to Davenport University and I have looked at the Dell University website and do not see it listed. I was told to call 1-800-695-8133 by the chat help because "not all schools are listed". When I called, the person I talked to did not understand what I wanted to know and got frustrated with me and placed me on eternal hold... So after sitting here like an idiot for a half hour waiting for her to get back I decided to call Davenport ... They have no idea what the code is.
So here I am ... Maybe there is someone out there going to Davenport University in Michigan and knows the code or maybe there is a list of the codes somewhere...
I put the new xps studio 1640 in my cart with EPP discount, but saw no option for free shipping, is that normal?

I've got my new laptop coming from either Lenovo (a ThinkPad) or Dell (a Latitude). But Lenovo is making it very easy these days. It seems they have a new coupon code on their website every day.
Using their codes I can get a better-equipped 15-inch notebook from Lenovo than I can from Dell. What I like about the Lenovo codes is you can use them on any purchase.
Am I missing something? Where are the Dell deals? I've clicked on a couple of deal links on this site but I'm taken to regular Dell 'specials' landing pages which offer the same price as their non-deal pages.
Okay so I'm trying to buy the Dell Latitude E6400 for college and I'm trying to use the 28% discount even though through my college I get a 7%. I rather get a 28% instead of 7%.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm about to order a Studio 15. It looks like the EPP exclusive one is easily the best deal, but I'm waiting to see if a 10% coupon comes out. I've seen older post where people mention usiing them. So I've got two questions:
1) Do the coupons stack with the 7% off discount?
2) How often do these coupons come out?
I know that Dell is known for always/usually having a lot of great coupon codes, but 25% does seem outstanding.
So for those of you who keep a closer eye on Dell than I do - is this degree of discount normal or unusual for Dell? In fact, is there any time of year that tends to be the "best" to get a Dell?

I've stayed away from McAfee and Norton for years, so I don't even know what an annual subscription to their virus definitions even costs anymore, BUT Dell's pushing a 1-year subscription McAfee subscription for $79, and 3-years for $99. Comparing the two makes the 3-year subscription look like a pretty good deal. Is it? Cnet seemed to like this latest release, but I don't know how much stock to put in that.
Is $99 for 3 years a good deal, and is McAfee Security Center even any good? Could I get a comparable deal buying/upgrading the subscription after purchasing the computer, or is getting it pre-installed on the Dell pretty much the only way to get it at that price?
As an incoming freshman majoring in Design, I've been looking into the SXPS 16 because of its RGBLED screen. First time ordering from Dell. I ordered an Inspiron 1318 notebook on 2/19, and the estimated shipping date is 3/6.

I ordered a xps 1340, recieved it today, after working with tech support deemed the slot load rom drive is dead.
I did not get on site service when i was ordering, that said I absolutely offended by and refuse to follow their process to resolve this.
That being me shipping a laptop i have had less than 2 hours back to dell for them to hopefully fix the issue and then wait for the shipment back.
My Dell Studio XPS 16 (core i7 model) was ordered april 6th. The estimated delivery date was originally 4/22/10 but yesterday I logged on to see my status and it said that my laptop was "In Production" and that the NEW estimated date of delivery is 4/14/10....that means they changed my EDD to 8 days before the ORIGINAL date. Well, the 14th is in 3 days...and my laptop is still "in production" so did dell make an error on the site? If not, does that mean that it only takes 2 or 3 days for things to get delivered?

Now we ordered a few new Studio 1747 with the Core i7 820 procs the order date was 1 December.. But now i got a mail that the delivery date is pushed back to 17 of February!! Wooot???
It seems that dell is many times just saying that you can order new systems but most of the time they can deliver one bit?

I have looked throughout the site and even emailed customer support (with no answer) but cannot find anything about average delivery times. I live in England and have order a new alienware m15x which was dispatched early on monday via ups. UPS tracking is still not active on my order (I know it can take up to 4 working days, which I find quite ridiculous frankly) and I am getting frustrated as I have no idea whats happening or when I can expect my order. I was just hoping people could give me an idea of how long it took their order to be delivered once shipped and if someone could tell me where uk alienware orders actually ship from.
I have been reading through dell forums and noticed that some american customers have had their orders listed as shipped but the orders had not actually been picked up by the carrier (i.e. ups). I wonder if anyone in the uk has experienced similar issues with delivery.
Ordered a Dell Studio 1537 on Thursday 26th March. Estimated delivery time is 14th April. To be honest with you. I think that is a bit of a long wait. Not very happy. On the other hand the payment cleared and it also went through pre-production within a day. It has been in production(phase 3) for 3 days now.

So I've recently ordered a Dell Studio 1537 to replace my ancient Inspiron 6000 . I ordered it on the 10th and it's in production right now, but it says that I shouldn't receive it until the 27th! Does it really take that long? I didn't change anything, all I did was change the color. How long did it actually take to receive yours?

However, in the Dell forum, there are really a lot of people who complain about the bad treatment they had regarding very long delays in delivery (or orders that are cancelled and rescheduled at a later date), in addition to incomplete or not reliable customer support.
So, the question is, are just whiners/exceptional cases, or there is indeed a diffuse problem for Dell about keeping the promised delivery times?
I recently ordered a Dell Studio 1558. Dell claim it has been shipped, and on clicking the Walsh Western link, it gives me the Customer number not found etc dialog. I tried the methods mentioned to input my numbers manually, but it still says not found. What can i do?
