I'm about to order a Studio 15. It looks like the EPP exclusive one is easily the best deal, but I'm waiting to see if a 10% coupon comes out. I've seen older post where people mention usiing them. So I've got two questions:
1) Do the coupons stack with the 7% off discount?
2) How often do these coupons come out?
I just wasted 45 minutes trying to get a discount or free delivery or student discount or the EPP thing over the phone, anything!
But they wouldnt throw me a bone, i think it might be because i always get put through to the india call centres
I just got my MBP yesterday and I noticed that my Documents and Downloads stacks do not look like folders, they look like PDF files. How do I get them to look like the normal folders?

I've got a Studio XPS 1645 running Windows 7 (64-bit) and my bluetooth radio won't detect any devices. Everytime I start my computer I get an error that says "Unable to start the bluetooth stack service". I've uninstalled every bluetooth device I could find in my device manager and reinstalled with the latest drivers from the Dell website, but nothing has changed. I called Dell support and was told that the problem was related to software (for which I do not have support coverage) and that I should do a Google search for a Toshiba patch that might fix the problem, but I couldn't find anything online.
View 15 Replies View RelatedI downloaded the blue tooth stack and installed it, when it runs it says it cannot communicate with the blue tooth chip and aborts. I have turned all the necessary things in system setup for the internal blue tooth device but it still does not work. Isn't there supposed to be a blue tooth indicator on my laptop somewhere that should be on, if so I do not see it.

I will be buying a new laptop in Sep. and I would like to know if there is a list of schools and there codes for the student discount...
I am going to Davenport University and I have looked at the Dell University website and do not see it listed. I was told to call 1-800-695-8133 by the chat help because "not all schools are listed". When I called, the person I talked to did not understand what I wanted to know and got frustrated with me and placed me on eternal hold... So after sitting here like an idiot for a half hour waiting for her to get back I decided to call Davenport ... They have no idea what the code is.
So here I am ... Maybe there is someone out there going to Davenport University in Michigan and knows the code or maybe there is a list of the codes somewhere...
I've got my new laptop coming from either Lenovo (a ThinkPad) or Dell (a Latitude). But Lenovo is making it very easy these days. It seems they have a new coupon code on their website every day.
Using their codes I can get a better-equipped 15-inch notebook from Lenovo than I can from Dell. What I like about the Lenovo codes is you can use them on any purchase.
Am I missing something? Where are the Dell deals? I've clicked on a couple of deal links on this site but I'm taken to regular Dell 'specials' landing pages which offer the same price as their non-deal pages.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've stayed away from McAfee and Norton for years, so I don't even know what an annual subscription to their virus definitions even costs anymore, BUT Dell's pushing a 1-year subscription McAfee subscription for $79, and 3-years for $99. Comparing the two makes the 3-year subscription look like a pretty good deal. Is it? Cnet seemed to like this latest release, but I don't know how much stock to put in that.
Is $99 for 3 years a good deal, and is McAfee Security Center even any good? Could I get a comparable deal buying/upgrading the subscription after purchasing the computer, or is getting it pre-installed on the Dell pretty much the only way to get it at that price?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI really like the Dell Studio 17 I have, but it is defective in the sense of the screen scratched and the drive scratches discs. If I call Dell, like last time, they will send me a replacement Studio 17, but it will be refurbished or not new. I don't like that.
What websites feature the BEST Dell coupons to bring the Dell Studio 17 price down? I got mine fully featured for about $1,340 on Dell's 30% off sale. I miss that sale because Dell doesn't do coupons for the Studio line of laptops, only Inspiron and XPS. They have offers, but when I spec out each offer, it comes to about the same amount which is higher.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm thinking of purchasing the M6400 laptop. I cannot stand my current laptop anymore, the Inspiron 9300 . It doesn't suit the tasks I'm involved with... it was handed down to me by my brother who is a programmer while I'm in the graphics/media field.
So I was wondering if any of you know where I can buy the m6400 for the cheapest price? or perhaps any coupons or deals that you may know of.
I'm a student and can't afford the m6400 at the current price on dell's website or without any coupons or deals...
Also I was wondering what is an alternative laptop to the Dell M6400. I'd love one with a smaller screen size but with a similar performance, although there can be some compromise. Wireless G and Wireless N. What is the difference? I know that N supports faster speeds and have heard that it's likely going to become more of a standard in the future. My question is, will it work like any other wireless device? I don't want to get it and find out it needs some sort of special connection.
Also, graphics cards. I see a whole lot of debate about this here, and not really a 100% clear answer to anything. I'll be using Photoshop and other digital art programs, and running Windows 7. I don't do serious computer gaming, and the most 3D-intensive game I might ever run would be something like the Sims- and that's an "if".
Would dedicated graphics have any significant advantage for me? I've been configuring with the Intel, but I don't want to sell myself short and regret it later, especially with something that can't be changed.
On the other hand, it's also important to me to have a cool-running computer, so if the added heat and power consumption will outweigh the benefits it'll probably be a deal breaker.

I have a Dell Latitude E6530 and when I plugged in my monitor and keyboard into the docking station, they were not recognized. But I can plug them into the laptop while docked and they are recognized.
