Last night my laptop was working perfectly and then when I tried to turn the computer on, it loaded and went to the startup screen with the Microsoft logo and from there it got stuck. I tried to hit F11 but no satisfactory result. I've also tried to take the battery out, but that didn't work either. I also tried to Setup my windows bt it also stuck up there. I don't know what to do...I also ran tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory (Esc>> F10>> File>>System Diagnostics>>Memory tese/Hard Disk test). And the result was:Hard Disk Check: "Quick Check: SMART Check: NOT AVAILABLE and Short DST: WARNING" and "Extensive Check: PASSED in everything"Memory Check: PASSED now what should i do?Mine model is HP ProBook 4440s...Currently running on Windows 7.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI own a Probook 4740s. It came preinstalled with Windows 8 and HP security tools. Recently I decided to upgrade to Windows 8.1 and in order to do this I had to uninstall HP security tools. I succeded uninstalling and updating Windows. After a day of usage the computer hanged. I refreshed it using HP recovery. As the OS version was old it updated itself after a day or two. The update went fine. After booting windows the next day It started configuring updates. Something went wrong and it failed with : "Failure configuring windows updates reverting changes". It hanged up and never finished. I refreshed again believing it didn't properly refresh. The whole thing happened again.
After refreshing again and then completlly reinstalling windows the problem persists. By this point I refreshed the computer 4 times and reinstalled Windows 1 time. I tried turning off all non-windows services and updating as per this forum : [URL] ... but it didn't work. It failed with:"Failure configuring windows changes. Reverting changes"...

I have a brand new ProBook 430 G2 (SKU # G6W35EA#ABB) with Windows 8.1, fully updated. I find that every 10-15 minutes, the left button on the trackpad becomes unresponsive. The trackpad still moves the mouse pointer and the right button continues to work, but the left button does not react. This lasts for several minutes, perhaps 3-4. Then the left button resumes working as if nothing had happened. Since the button resumes working, I suspect it is more likely to be a software issue with the driver or Windows 8.1.
I have Synaptics TouchPad driver version 18.1.8.1, the current version of the driver.
I have Windows 8.1 version 6.3.9600.
I have Bios version HP M74 version 1.03 (07/07/2014)
I read about uninstalling and reinstalling the driver for the Synaptic product. Would uninstalling the driver leave me without any mouse funtionality in the mean time?

Just bought some ProBook 655 G1 notebooks (AMD A10 5750M). But all USB doesn't work. No mouse, no USB flash. Mouse works only in BIOS. Installed drivers in Windows 7 x64, but it not works. And it sometimes freezes when i restart notebook. Then i take second notebook, but it is all the same, usb doesn't work. I googled, that i must disconnect usb device, when rebooting, and thats true - with no usb connected laptop boots fine. But USB still doesn't work.

Everything was fine for a long time - that is, when I put it in the hibernate mode it turned off and when I pressed the power on button it resumed. However, that isn't the case any longer.Now when I put it in the hibernate mode, it (usually) goes hibernating and after few seconds it turns back on (all by itself!). Sometimes it hibernates for 10 or 20 minutes (or even more) and then again, it turns back on all by itself!This problem just started occuring, I didn't install or update or do anything.

I'm about to order a Studio 15. It looks like the EPP exclusive one is easily the best deal, but I'm waiting to see if a 10% coupon comes out. I've seen older post where people mention usiing them. So I've got two questions:
1) Do the coupons stack with the 7% off discount?
2) How often do these coupons come out?
I've got a Studio XPS 1645 running Windows 7 (64-bit) and my bluetooth radio won't detect any devices. Everytime I start my computer I get an error that says "Unable to start the bluetooth stack service". I've uninstalled every bluetooth device I could find in my device manager and reinstalled with the latest drivers from the Dell website, but nothing has changed. I called Dell support and was told that the problem was related to software (for which I do not have support coverage) and that I should do a Google search for a Toshiba patch that might fix the problem, but I couldn't find anything online.

I have turned all the necessary things in system setup for the internal blue tooth device but it still does not work. Isn't there supposed to be a blue tooth indicator on my laptop somewhere that should be on, if so I do not see it.

The pointer seems to "stick" and then when I move it, the screen will either get very smaller or larger. I continually have to hit ctrl + or - to get the screen size back to "normal". Is this something to do with the touchpad settings or pointer?

The other day I was busy playing a game when the computer froze and then turned off while it was turning off a small blue screen briefly appeared. I restarted the laptop and everything seemed fine, I left the computer for a few minutes and when I came back the screen was completely off but the computer was operating as normal. No key press or anything would put the screen back on.Everytime after this event that I tried to put the laptop on it would start(HHD spin, CPU fan work, HDD light would blink for a bit then stop but the screen would stay completely black with no blue backlight).
I tried hard reset and a number of other things like checking if the RAM was connected properly and still the screen remained off.I decided to connect the laptop to an external monitor and I finally could display on the monitor but it still would not display on the laptop screen. After the windows emblem loaded the dreaded blue screen of death would appear with a STOP error 0x00000116 which after some looking up appears to be the graphics driver.
After safe starting the system and rolling back the graphics driver to standard VGA adapter the windows 7 system was then able to start in normal mode. I've tried reinstalling the HD 5470 graphics driver but the blue screen of death continues to appear. I have completely reloaded the OS to no avail.I disconnected the laptops screen from the motherboard without the graphics driver loaded, which didn't cause a beep but displayed on the external monitor when I connected it. I tried the same with the graphic driver loaded, still no beeps were heard and when I connected the external monitor the blue screen appeared.From the tests I had tried, I believe that there must be an issue with the graphics card itself as the Blue screen of death only displays when the graphics card driver is loaded.
When opening a video all I get is sound and green screen how can I get to see video?

I tried the hard restart and it came on and I selected repair and it didn't work again so I selected turn off and now it goes to black screen.

I've had this computer for a long time. I purchased an HP g62 notebook 2/12yrs ago I have not used it for almost a year. Problem it is having at first it was not charging properly I would get a message about battery being low and may need to be replaced I continued using it like that for like a month then one day I went to start it up this is what I got' blank screen,caps lock bli king 6 times then blink another 3 times then 6 times then 3 times repeated while the internet button is orange. The fan runs the CD opens, I just replaced the battery and new charger.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy g6 has had many problems. I really regret buying it. First we had a freezing issue which hp resolved I thought that was the end of it. Now when my screen is open at a 90 degree angle to the keyboard Lines appear then the screen turns white with various colored lines running through. When I open all the way it is fine or close to a 45 degree angle. Is there a bad wire or connection? I have a prepaid box to mail to hp still. I thought hp was better than this!

i've frequantly had this problem , when i start my laptop ( hp pavilion 15n021se ) on the lock screen when i'm going to click to enter my password , just after moving mouse cruser i get the blue screen saying that the error is " invalid process attachment attempt "
i searched for this error and most results was meeting my thoughts that the cause for this error is the touch pad driver .

I'm having problems with my laptop (HP Pavilion dv4 1428dx) the last thing I did was put it to sleep, then cameback and tried to wake it up but it would not start up. All the lights are on, but the screen is black and the only thing I hear is the fan moving. The caps lock and num lock keys have a blinking light, not really sure what that means. The power LED is on, the battery LED is on, but the hard drive LED is not on.
