I ordered a dell xps m 1750.. for a new business I have started.. it was due to arrive a week before a meeting so that I could use it for this meeting,
they havent told me that it was going to take an extra 2 weeks to arrive and I found out by checking the tracker!
I've ben waiting patiently(ish) for my delivery from Dell, and using the status page I've managed to follow it for so far, but the last action updated was on the 26th, nothing since........................................
So my Dell XPS M1730 finally got shipped this morning! (Yay). The thing is the dell person expedited my order and gave me free next business day delivery.
Since it got shipped today, shouldn't it come tomorrow (Hence the name next business day)? The dell estimated delivery date says the 29th ( Which I won't be home on )
i just saw my laptop is in nashville since 6pm today what are the chances i'll get it in dallas by tomorrow anyone know? or how i can find out when it ships out of there
How solid are Dell's estimated delivery dates? Do they ever get bumped ahead? I ordered a new Studio 17 the other day and it says in production but the ETD is November 6th.
I haven't ordered a system from Dell for over a year now, and I was just wondering if they still tended to beat their expected delivery dates (in a good sense)
or if now they actually give you an estimate that gets your hopes up for nothing.
I bought a Dell Mini 9 from the outlet and its already shipped. I'm having second thoughts though because of the $245 deal through Sam's club for a brand new one when I payed $230 for a used one.
I'm also not sure if I even need a netbook since I have a XPS M1530 and want to hold off until the 09 Fall Semester to get a netbook (if I decide I want one).
So my question is this: Would I be charged a 15% restocking fee if I refuse delivery? Would I be charged a 15% restocking fee for returning through Dell? Does it depend on whether I open the box or not? Would I have to pay for shipping?/not be refunded shipping/taxes?
My Dell Studio XPS 16 (core i7 model) was ordered april 6th. The estimated delivery date was originally 4/22/10 but yesterday I logged on to see my status and it said that my laptop was "In Production" and that the NEW estimated date of delivery is 4/14/10....that means they changed my EDD to 8 days before the ORIGINAL date. Well, the 14th is in 3 days...and my laptop is still "in production" so did dell make an error on the site? If not, does that mean that it only takes 2 or 3 days for things to get delivered?
2 years ago i ordered a Vostro 1700 that took ages to arrive because of i think back then screen supply problems.
Now we ordered a few new Studio 1747 with the Core i7 820 procs the order date was 1 December.. But now i got a mail that the delivery date is pushed back to 17 of February!! Wooot???
It seems that dell is many times just saying that you can order new systems but most of the time they can deliver one bit?
Its orderd from dell.nl, how are other orders doing in Europa? Are the 1747 with the Core i7 being delivered in the states?
I have looked throughout the site and even emailed customer support (with no answer) but cannot find anything about average delivery times. I live in England and have order a new alienware m15x which was dispatched early on monday via ups. UPS tracking is still not active on my order (I know it can take up to 4 working days, which I find quite ridiculous frankly) and I am getting frustrated as I have no idea whats happening or when I can expect my order. I was just hoping people could give me an idea of how long it took their order to be delivered once shipped and if someone could tell me where uk alienware orders actually ship from.
I have been reading through dell forums and noticed that some american customers have had their orders listed as shipped but the orders had not actually been picked up by the carrier (i.e. ups). I wonder if anyone in the uk has experienced similar issues with delivery.
Ordered a Dell Studio 1537 on Thursday 26th March. Estimated delivery time is 14th April. To be honest with you. I think that is a bit of a long wait. Not very happy. On the other hand the payment cleared and it also went through pre-production within a day. It has been in production(phase 3) for 3 days now.
Other than that....
What do you guys think of it. Good laptop? My main specs are IntelŪ PentiumŪ Dual-Core Processor T4200 (2.0GHz, 800MHz, 1MB cache), 2GB RAM, 256MB ATI Mobility RADEON HD 3450, 160 GB HDD.
So I've recently ordered a Dell Studio 1537 to replace my ancient Inspiron 6000 . I ordered it on the 10th and it's in production right now, but it says that I shouldn't receive it until the 27th! Does it really take that long? I didn't change anything, all I did was change the color. How long did it actually take to receive yours?
I am thinking of buying a Dell. However, in the Dell forum, there are really a lot of people who complain about the bad treatment they had regarding very long delays in delivery (or orders that are cancelled and rescheduled at a later date), in addition to incomplete or not reliable customer support.
So, the question is, are just whiners/exceptional cases, or there is indeed a diffuse problem for Dell about keeping the promised delivery times?
I recently ordered a Dell Studio 1558. Dell claim it has been shipped, and on clicking the Walsh Western link, it gives me the Customer number not found etc dialog. I tried the methods mentioned to input my numbers manually, but it still says not found. What can i do?
How accurate are the preliminary shipping dates posted when you are customizing a system online? If I select an option that may delay the ship date, is the estimated delay only a precaution or does it actually delay by that much?
I ordered a Dell Prcision M4400 mobile workstation on April 27th. It is now MAY 27th and I STILL don't have my computer!
Every week, on the day the order is scheduled to ship, the shipping date is suddenly shifted one more week away. So far, this has happened to me 4 times!
When I call Dell they always assure me that such-and-such is the ship date, but then, yet again, the ship date is delayed another week. It doesn't matter if I explain what has been happening - they just repeat back like a parrot that the system says that it will ship on such-and-such a date.
I can see that for myself on the website! What I wanted was some kind of an explaination for the ridiculous delays and some kind of an assurance that I'll be getting my computer sometime within the current epoch
so this is my first time buying a laptop from dell and im a little confused about the estimated ship date.
It says that my estimated ship date is april 20th so does that mean they will ship the item on the 20th or will it will arrive at my house on the 20th?
and also how long does it usually take for the item to arrive after it has shipped from the warehouse?
Has anyone encountered abnormally long ship dates for recently ordered laptops?
I ordered a Studio 15 / Mini 9 combo about a week ago and the ESD for the Mini 9 is next week, and the ESD for the Studio 15 is early December. In the past I've gotten my custom-ordered laptops within a week of ordering.
I also noticed that the Purchase ID info does not show billing or shipping info, although I did receive email confirmation with that info.
What's going on? Will I receive lemons because Dell is making everyone take unpaid leave?
which ('version')/ date your laptop was made/shipped from the factory.
I need this info to compare it to another one of the same kind that was purchased this week.. I want to know if HP has released a 'second generation' of some kind.. or just improved something significantly.
So I bought a sealed box 8530w off eBay. Now I know from previous HP business models that the warranty start date on the online lookup tool starts from the day the laptop was manufactured. This hasn't ever been an issue in the past, since I got previous laptops second hand anyway.
But this one is already nearly 6 months into its 3 year warranty. I guess it has been sitting around sealed in its box for a while.
So...
1. Is there any way I can get HP to update the warranty start date? (I'm getting an invoice from the seller as we speak)
2. Assuming I can, will that new warranty start date be reflected in the online lookup?
3. Will the new warranty start date be transferable if I sell the laptop, or will it only apply to me, with my name on the invoice?
The notebook is a compaq presario c500.The seconds are not counting in the bios setup screen.Obviously the clock is wrong whenever the pc is turned off and or restarted.I have already replaced the battery(cr2032 3V)twice to make sure it is not that.I also updated the bios. That did not work. What controls the time?
I am constantly losing my time and sometimes date. I have checked that I have selected the correct time zone many times. The clock always jumps backwards, not forward and it is never a set amount of time. However it is usually between 30-45 minutes back. Very rarely the date will randomly jump back several years. I'm not sure what the problem is.
Some friends have told me it could be: 1)Virus or such, but i have done several scans already. 2) Dying CMOS battery 3) Or something about BIOS time being off, I'm not sure what it meant.
I guess if it is the CMOS battery, is there anything i should know before replacing it (like saving some settings or something?) or can i just unscrew the back of my laptop pop out the battery and pop in a new one?
