I was watching something online when the sound became distorted (has happened before) so turned off G6 laptop and restatred worked well for 20 minutes and then it went all distorted again. Turned it off again and started it up again however this time the sound completely vanished. Tried iTunes, internet, and a movie on laptop and nothing is working anymore. Have checked all the easy sound things making sure I didn't turn it off but nope it all says device is working.
When listeing to music using headphones/earphone the sound effects are terrible it echoes, off-pitches.It happens both while listeing youtube videos and while listeing to music/videos stored on my system. I don't remeber if i made any configuration changes in the SOUND setting from the control panel. But I cannot reset it to normal.Â

After reinstallation of drivers on my Dell Inspiron E1705 after a reformat, im getting a yellow question mark next to network controller and video controller what are the drivers i should install?
1) I'm ordering in a FX2500 to replace my 7800 go. I'm currently using Extreme-G Mobileforce driver 92.91 (I've tried some of the newer versions but prefer this one). Will this driver be compatible with the FX2500?
2) What are the best drivers for the FX2500 if not Mobileforce?
3) Overclocking... I've read the posts about flashing the 7900GTX bios to enable overclocking, does this mean i cannot overclock using the normal software way. In the Mobileforce drivers for the 7800, the option is in the Advanced Settings options in Windows. Does the FX2500/7950GTX not have this option and is BIOS flashing the only way to overclock the card?
4) If the BIOS flash is to enable voltage adjustments as well as clock adjustments, is this something I need to do or will the card do well with just altered clock speeds?
I've been using the Windows Vista (32) that came with my Inspiron 9400, now I'm going to (thankfully) upgrade to Windows 7 x64 and I'd like to know if anybody know (had used/ tested/seen) what would be the best and great driver for this nVidia GeForce 7900GS on W7 64.
I looked over nVidia website and there is currently no certified driver for this card + Windows version, so for what I see, we'll have to go either laptopvideo2go and mobileForce,
Problem: I was using my typing a word document when all of the sudden a pattern of yellow distortion came accross the screen and windows frooze. I tried rebooting windows but even the splash screen that came up right after you turn the computer on is distorted, during startup every image is distorted somehow including the windows splash screen and all shown dos screens(random characters all over the place in dos). It won't boot into windows normally, it gives a blue error screen and then restarts but it will go into safemode (with distortion of course). I tried plugging into two different crt monitors to see if it was a problem with the monitor but they displayed "Signal out of range." I plugged into an LCD monitor and it would display the image but still showed a "Signal out of range." box bouncing around even though it was showing windows in safe mode (still distorted.) I have never seen this problem before. I booted from an xp cd and did a fixboot comand but it still won't boot into windows normal. I uninstalled the video drivers in safemode which would then allow me to boot into windows but I still had the distortion. I reflashed the mobo bios. (nothing changed) Reinstalling the drivers would cause it to crash and then not allow me to boot into anything but safemode unless I uninstalled the drivers. The problem went away completely for about a day and I was able to install the drivers again and everything was working fine but later it happened again. I noticed that while the computer is having the problem hibernation is impossible (doesn't show the option anywhere). I tried replacing the video card (most obvious culprit at this point) and that didn't even work! I'm thinking it needs a new motherboard entirely.
I have 5423 i3 and recently I started having a problem with which was that on almost every boot the screen would be distorted I.e vertical and horizontal lines would appear rainbow like distorted colours and although anything was barely visible I could make out that the screen ws divided into these four grids like appearance each acting like a separate unit by itself AND along with this the laptop would make 8 beeps on boot until window load screen would appear.
When this problem first started I solved it by holding the laptop screen at an angle then powering it on or sometimes pressing the power button and closing the lid and after I would hear win startup sound I would open it and it would work fine, but now since a day or two ive tried every method amd nothing works...
recently, i was playing a song and suddenly the bass started sounding weirdly/scratchy and loud. if i go to the control panel and lower the volume of internal subwoofer to 0, the sound disappears. try system restore, but it didn't work.
what do you recommend? trying out drivers for example?
fyi, i restored the laptop to factory default settings.

My laptop screen is distorted, it looks like the color is being drained from the the screen, every so often the original color returns, but not for long.
I have updated all my audio and video drivers and when I play a game my audio is great with the subwoofer, but when I play a movie it has very bad audio.
It began with media center, then media player, and finally power dvd. What should I do? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the storm.
When updating to Windows 7 the audio drivers look like the right ones for the studio 15 or any with the IDT,
it is not it is generic and you will need the updated driver from the Dell support site, it adds the surround and bass that will be missing and I noticed a big difference.
My windows package died on my hp nx6325 recently, and as I had purchased the machine secondhand, from a private seller now unavailable for comment or advice, I stripped the partition clean, then installed another windows xp build...
I have re-installed the drivers for the touchpad, graphics, broadcom wirelass card...but the audio drivers fail to install and give me sound, because they all get stuck at the end of the installation routine and present me with an error of 'unable to find HDA ausdio bus driver'
To remedy this problem, i read that I should install a separate HP driver called sp26334. But when I try to install that, i am connected to the HP area online, and then told that as I do not have the same XP operating system that my laptop was originally sold with, that the installation process is now aborted.
I format my laptop and installed Windows XP Pro. But I coudnt find drivers for Audio. Where to Find the Sound drivers. Â Product ID :Â EC181UA#ABL Â Compaq Presario V2000
Recently 2 weeks back I have bought  HP 15-R074TU laptop free dos. I have installed windows7 64 bit.  And other required softwares, I have problems with audio which is very low.  Video display is not proper, movies are not comfortable to watch without any reason get stucks. I have installed HP recommended video and audio driver but still having problems.  Audio and video drivers for HP 15-R074TU model....
I had to reinstall windows because of a virus. Windows 7 Home Premium
I am unable to load the audio and card reader drivers. I've ran all the windows updates and use Dell's support for finding the correct drivers. The system analysis identifies the drivers I need, but they refuse to load.Â
i just bought a fatal1ty headset and now im experiencing some minor problems with my sound. obviously the soundcard makes them since i installed the newest software and drivers for the headset.
until now i was using the driver i got from my notebook's download page by HP, version 5.10.1.5220 from 05.02.2008.
now i looked through the net and found quite a lot of these soundmax drivers, but im not sure which one to take..
i learned that the 6.### drivers are for vista, and the 5.10.02.### drivers are for xp x64. so i need a 5.10.1.#### one, preferably newer than 5220. now on the page i found them (www.versiontracker.com), there are quite a lot of these drivers (218 to be exact) and sorting them by the release date confuses me a bit, since the newest 5.10.1.#### driver is 5.10.1.5860, but a bit earlier 5.10.1.6110 was released. so which is the newest one?
and all are from 2008.. are there really no newer ones? on the official soundmax page there are none, even no support section.
the device id is HDAUDIOFUNC_01&VEN_11D4&DEV_1981&SUBSYS_103C30C5& REV_10024&1D8C0F4E&0&0001, since one cannot identify the exact device from the name...
A friend of mine has the dv2000 pavilion laptop with vista installed. He decided to uninstall vista and install xp 64bit. The problem now is that I cannot find the vga or audio drivers anywhere  Some spec: AMD Turion 64 x 2 TL-58, 1.9 GHz, 1.93 Gb Ram, Windows XP Home Edition SP2
I just had to reformat my DV1000 due to a corrupt Windows XP installation. I downloaded the drivers from the HP website but they will not install, it just says FAILURE at the end of attempting to install them. Â The p/n of my laptop is ED338AV.
when i first got this laptop i noticed that the screen was distorted and there was red lines everywhere and the screen was shaking abit. so i contacted dell and they sent me a repair guy to fix it. he fixed it in about 15min by pulling apart the laptop and replugging in the screen. but now its happening again. so i think the thing that plugs in is loose or somethin. so what do u think i should do out of the following options.
1. open it myself and replug it (im a noob and will try remember best what he did)
2. get techinician to come in again (bothersome as i have school)
After a little problems i decided to format everything and reinstall Windows XP Service Pack 2.
Oke Everything went fine untill now: When i install my driver the Realtek High-Definition Audio from official website of Acer. The install does everything fine, after reboot: No Sound...
In the hardware stuff i can't find anything of the installed driver (realtek). I know its This driver i need, because i had it working a while ago before i formatted my laptop...
