I went and put in an SD card to download pictures... Usually i would get a pop-up that asks me what program do i want to open it with.
I would always use Picasa 3. I don't get that pop up anymore nor can i access anything to open it up with a 3rd party. I have to go in and click on Computer and right click on drive F to open File from there manually..
I've had good results from installing the Intel matrix storage driver v8.5 direct from Intel (newer than the Dell version) but tonight I tried the even newer v8.6 version from Intel and have had two blue screens, so having to revert.
I got a T430s with the nvidia nvs 5400m and when i try to update drivers etc via the lenovo system update I got a message that I should update the Intel rapid storage driver to 18.104.22.1686, and that isn't even the latest version, but anyway I mark the update and let it install and then reboot. But when I search for updates I have to update the same driver to the same version I just installed. I have tried to remove the driver via device manager, but without results.
I recently re installed my Dell Precision M4800 laptop. In the device manager there is a driver not installed " Broadcom USH" I already searched for it, and there is one : Dell ControlPoint Security Device Driver Pack, but this device is not (yet) supported. Is there a way to fix this? I did not get any recovery cd with my pc, only a few drivers, not this one.
While trying to install Intel Rapid Storage Technology(IRST) Driver on my Lenovo G560 Windows 7 64bit OS it is not able to install and gives me some error regarding hardware not match or etc. error then i came to know that to install AHCI driver i have to change in BIOS Sata controller mode from 'Compatible' to 'AHCI' i tried so and then restart the system but it gives BLUE SCREEN error while windows startup logo and restart again, any solution to use Rapid Storage Technology on G560 and actually this driver was installed when i purchased the new laptop but after certain format and fresh windows installation its no more able to install, how to install it back..........
Intel's core i3/i5/i7 Arrandale processors will be released soon (Q1 2010). They all have integrated graphics but support external graphics too. Do you think these processors will be used in Dell Latitude and/or Precision laptops?
I'm using Windows 8.1 on a t431s. I'm having this problem where none of my external storage is being recognized. Under "Device Manager" any sort of external storage I plug in ends up under "Other devices". When I click on the device, I get Code 28 "The drivers for this device are not installed." Trying to update the driver brings me nowhere. The devices don't appear under disk management.   What's weird is that other USB peripherals such as mice and USB headphones don't have any problem.    Here's what I've tried so far:
Updated the BIOS. Used Lenovo's SCCM package for Windows 8.1 Tried installing the individual drivers for each hard drive.
I have a Dell E6400.  The OS has been uprgraded to Windows 7 - 64 bit by an authorized Microsoft refurbish dealer.  The driver stops randomly. Using the internet, Office, version 2010.  is there a better driver?
I just received a refurbished Inspiron 17R SE with the HD and SSD pre-installed.  I want to use the Intel Smart Response feature to speed up the hard disk with my SSD.  When I open the Intel Rapid Storage utility I see no accelerator button.  How do I enable this feature?
I have the BIOS SATA type set to Smart Response.  It arrived with that setting.  I don't know of any other setting that could affect this.
Have done a clean install of VISTA HP. Keep being prompted to install driver for "Mass storage controller". Device manager shows it with yellow exclamation mark. Windows cannot locate a driver. Looked on the Acer site but unsure what to install for this one.
Device manager just calls it "other device" Acer Aspire 9301awsmi.
In my HP Spectre XT TouchSmart Ultrabook 15-4010nr notebook there are 1 HDD and 1 SSD (30GB). The SSD was used for¬†acceleration in Intel Rapid Storage initially. ¬† But I reseted it to Available ¬†in Intel Rapid Storage and now I cannot ‚ÄúEnable acceleration‚ÄĚ again, because there is no such a command in the program‚Äôs interface¬≠¬≠ ‚Äď it only shows disk information at ‚ÄúStatus‚ÄĚ and ‚ÄúManage‚ÄĚ, but no commands at all (except Acivate LED).¬≠
I've recently purchased a new hard drive and continuously recieve an error message when I try to install the software for it. Here is the exact issue I'm having: [URL] .......   I've confirmed the BIOS is locked in AHCI on my laptop model, so the solution is to update the SATA storage driver to the latest native Microsoft driver, but I don't know how to do that. The only driver available on my system is "Intel(R) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller"   Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (Fresh Install)   Laptop Model: HP Pavilion dv6t-7000 CTO Entertainment Notebook PC    Hard Drive: Western Digital Black2 Dual Drive   Error: Unsupported/Incompatible SATA storage driver   Driver to Update: Intel(R) ICH8M-E/ICH9M-E SATA RAID Controller
My hard drive was formatted; everything, recovery and all. I went to install Win 8 back on it from a CD I have, it go's all the way thru the steps up to where you you pick a Drive to install on, and a messege appears saying; No Hard Drive detected- install Mass Storage Driver for detection of Hard Drive. What I need to install, and where to get it. It will not install an Operating system for the life of me.
My 5 months old SSD crashed and I replaced it with a Macrium created mirror.  Everything seems to work except the computer no longer recognizes USB drives.  The USB drives are good (checked on other devices), I've removed and reinstalled all USB hubs and drivers - the chip drivers and bios are up to date and the USBs are enabled in the BIOS AND I've done several virus scans (online and local) in safe mode (Malwarebytes, Spybot, ESET, Defender, AVG, Housecall).  The USBs are recognized on boot but once Win7 boots the USB for storage devices no longer work.... however, the USB recognize keyboards and the mouse.  Guessing a new OS install will fix it, however, I would rather not reinstall everything.
The integrated webcam on my E4310 is not being recognised anywhere. This is a topic which already has several previous discussions, but without any solution for me. The webcam doesn't appear in device manager:
and is not recognised on skype, or the Dell Webcam Central. When put through the Dell diagnostics test it says no camera is installed. Is it possible that there is no webcam on this laptop and what I see above the screen is something else?
general differences b/w the two Dell business models? I'm looking to buy a 15" notebook, and I think the business computers may be better than the consumer ones. However, I'm having trouble understanding the different models' differences b/w each other on Dell's website.
