I had a chance to stop by at apple store today, and compared the anti glare screens on both 15 inch and 17 inch models. To my surprise, the 15 inch one was much brighter than 17 inch one. I made sure that both had max brightness settings, and it was clear that 15 inch one was superior. maybe this 17 inch display model was defect? anyone has opposite experience? (btw, I hate seeing myself and losing focus because of reflective glassy screens)
I bought a new Inspiron last week and got it yesterday - I am happy with it except feel a bit annoyed as I though wide screen of 15.6 would be the same as 15.4 normal screen in terms of height, but with a slightly wider screen.
It turns out that actually it is half an inch shorter! And 768 pixels high does not seem enough.
I looked into the 17inch model and for only £25 more I can get the same speced laptop.
Does anyone know how much I might get charged for returning the 15 inch to get the 17 inch (it has been within 21 days) ....
I have a studio xps 16 with the Radeon 4670. When I connect my laptop to my 37 inch HDTV via HDMI, the image does not fill up the TV screen. Is there any way I can adjust the resolution?
Also I have downloaded a couple of 1080p movies, but again they do not fill up the TV's screen, and don't look as stunning.
I don't understand why it wouldn't fill up the TV since if you burn the movie onto a blu-ray disk or dvd, it would look stunning on the HDTV.
Apple will mail me a new 17 inch MBP unibody(Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66, 4G memory, 320G hard drive) and I found out that I like the 15 inch MBP unibody more (lighter yet the same powerful machine). Is there anyway that I can take it back to apple store and exchange for a 15 inch MBP?

I have 5 usb ports on my dell studio 17 notebook, but one of them has a extrange connector, apparently is a self-powered usb port or something like that, but I can't connect a regular usb cable on it.
Can anybody tell me what kind of device could be connected to this port ? And What's the difference between this usb port vs regular usb ports ?
I currently have a Sony Vaio Z540 -- 13.3" non-glossy display at 1366x768 and a weight of around 3.4 lbs.
Easily carried, that thing.
I, however, wouldn't mind a 15.4" / 16" notebook. For those of you with XPS 16 machines: is your laptop really that portable? The thing weighs 6.4 lbs with the standard battery, from what I understand. Think universities and the usual study places as well as at home.
I am interested in the Dell Studio 15, but I'm in no rush to purchase. Is this a good time to spend the money? Is there a hardware upgrade or a new release looming?
My friend have spilled like a 1dc water on my keyboard, but in that second I lift it up and I think all the water have flown out, but Iam not sure...But nothing happened. It didnt turn off by himself, so i turned it off aftewards.
I put in on the ground(keaboard face to face ground), then I used hair drier and i left it like this for one day. then I turned it on and everything works. now is the 5th day and it is working like ussual
Does anyone know of any plans for Dell to release an 18 inch laptop PC like many others have done so already such as Sony, HP, Toshiba, etc. If so, when will they be released....
I just received an email from dell to receive 25 % off my new purchase on a system over 2.6k or an accessory. So i wanted to order a laptop case this one in paticular [url]but im not sure wether or not it will fit anyone know?
I want to purcahse a dell 24 inch flatscreen external monitor for my dell xps 1530 just becasuse I feel like staring at a bigger screen .
This one I am looking at is full HD at $349AUD from dell outlet australia.
Will never get full HD as I dont have a blueray player installed. Any way , will this work out OK or will the graphics card struggle with this moniter ??
Looking for a 13 to 15 inch laptop with a better than just good graphics card. I remember the dv5t coming with a 9600m gt but looks like HP pulled a failure card and now they have weak chips in the 15 inch models. I was hoping to keep it somewhat lightweight meaning under 6 lbs, but not sacrifice gameplay while it's plugged in and a decent battery life for mobile word processing and web surfing (no gameplay).
I'm going to defiantly get a MBP for school this fall the only question is which one I want as much power as possible my budget is 2000 dollars should i get. The new one with the 2.66 processor or should I get last models from the refurbished apple store. I need this to last 3-4 years.
I've been looking at the Sony SR 13 inch series laptops. I like the black one. But I can't find any pictures of it with the keyboard. Is the whole laptop black, or is the inside some other color?
I am looking to buy a macbook pro 15 inch very soon and I decided that I will buy a good quality SSD with it, i know its expensive but I think it will be worth it, anyways I was looking at the following two SSD and it seems that they have pretty good reading and writing speeds:

my question. which one is the better one of the two? and also I came across the following SSD, which states that it is a mac version!

I was wondering what is the difference between a mac edition SSD and a non-Mac edition SSD and will the above two SSD's fit into the new macbook pros and work properly?
Can we expect HP to be introducing updated laptops at CES? I am mainly intrested in the HP Envy 17 inch, think we will hear anything about it (if not when)? I want a new laptop (updating from my xps 1530), and will like a 17 inch screen instead of a 15 inch screen and thats why i am waiting for the envy to come out with a 17 version,
Does anyone play sims 3 on the new macbook or 13inch mbp? is it even playable? I've been wanting a mac for awhile now and since they have the free itouch till September i wanted to get it but not if you can't play sims3 on them.
