Dell :: Vostro V13 5530 Wwan And Windows 7 32 Bit Settings
Feb 20, 2010
Right everyone, after much searching and screaming and tearing my hair out, ive managed to get the dell 5530 wwan to work on a vostro v13 with windows 7 32-bit.
this guide is mostly for those who have downloaded countless number of drivers, and been told error 23000 - this is not for your device .........
Anyone got the new 64 bit Windows 7 driver (not the Vista driver) for 5530 WWAN card on E6400 working?.
The driver installed fine on my E6400 (running 64 bit Windows 7), but Wireless Manager (downloaded from Sony Ericsson website) stopped working saying it can't find any wireless device (probably because it can't recognize the new driver)..
Then I went to get Control Point Connection Manager and noticed that there's none for Windows 7. So how do you use the WWAN card without a client?..
i'm attempting to fit a Dell 5530 WWAN card in my Dell XPS M1330. Could someone advise which cables to attach where?..
There are 3 available cables, a blue, grey/white and black/white but on the 5530 there are 2 connections: main and aux. The blue cable will not reach to the main connection..
Have got a Dell Studio 1735 for a year now and wanted to have mobile broadband internet.
So I bought a new Dell 5530 card. When I received it, installed it in my laptop following the online instructions and downloaded the latest driver for it.
When I went in the 'Device manager' read that the driver is working properly, so it is functioning.
Just received a new XPS Studio 13 purchased as a single customer (rather than through business channels)... having issues with the WWAN 5530 which I got on the presumption that it would be unlocked.
Dell ControlPoint Connection Manager says it is "unactivated HSPA". Have tried activating it via vodafone, but their computers are down today!
- Am I able to activate it without the help of Vodafone? - Is it locked to the Vodafone network? .....
just received a Dell 5530 WWAN Mobile Broadband HSDPA KM266 PCIe mini-card which bought from a vendor on ebay today
Owning an XPS M1330, it took a little trial & error finding compatible drivers and the appropriate SW, but I managed it by feeding Dell's website with various Notebook models in order to get to said drivers & SW.
The SW (Ericsson) came from the Dell Mini 9 section (because the ebay vendor told me that's where he got the card in the first place):

I'm currently using a Vostro 5470-20452G with Windows 8. It's about two months old and now the touchpad is not working. I've tried various methods like disabling and enabling the touchpad in settings but it still doesn't work.
I get my new "Vostro 3360" and I needed to do "roll back" to factory settings but I had some problem:
- I tried to do a "recover / estore" but there was nothing in the list - I already installed the laptop also installed many programs (e.g: office, winscp, irfanview etc.)
- I tried to go through the "help center" on the laptop and same issue - nothing, all empty
- I even try to reinstall from the disk I got with the laptop BUT it didn't found my hard disks... so basically, my question is how can I install the laptop from the included windows 8 cd that I got?
I just want to reinstall my laptop like it was as I got it from the factory
Have D420 here and was thinking if it's possible to use WWAN slot for any other mini pci-e cards like SSD or video decoder. Now Dell docs state not to mix WLAn and WWAN cards between their assigned slots.
Recently I installed trial version of Windows 7 64bits on my Vostro 1014 (which originally had 32 bits Windows 7). I choose clean installation, which erased recovery partition. My laptop came with no CD. I want to restore my laptop to original settings.
I have a UK VGN-Z3. It comes with a built in WWAN card, which allows HSDPA connection over T-mobile. My understanding is that the driver is a Quallcom Gobi.
I've clean installed Windows 7. After much hard work and searching high and low, I think I have everything sorted. FN keys work, sleep is available etc (I do have a sporadic wireless drop-off that I didn't have before but that's all). I've updated all the essential bits as per the extremely helpful guidance on here and elsewhere from BIOS through to smart network etc.
On the VAIO download page specific to the Z3 there are no Windows 7 drivers for WWAN. So, I downloaded the original ones from the "originally installed section. The Quallcom gobi didn't want to install at first but I found a workaround online involving changing a particular file [url]. So that was installed and I then installed the original 3G manager. Fingers crossed and, surprise, surprise, it didn't work. The 3G manager comes up with an error message basically telling me that the WWAN is not detected or words to the effect. I tried going to a more recent Z series (Z51) and downloading the equivalent drivers from there. Still nothing. There is some sort of further advice in the link above that might help me but :-/ I don't understand it...!
I use my 3G connection a lot as I'm often on the road and am totally lost without it...
Ive just installed Windows 7 RC1 on my lovely Vaio TT VGN-TT11VN/X
Everything looks good, wifi quickly working but one thing i found doesnt work is the 3g smartcard internet access
Ive tried installing all the drivers, it recognises the Globetrotter Smartcard reader installed but then says cant install drivers when trying to install the software
Im running Windows 7 RC1 x64 bit version to take advantage of the 4GB ram
I have done a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit informed by Firestone and others on this Forum. Everything works well - in fact arguably better in terms of functionality of Stamina/Speed switch - with one exception.
I have not been able to install the WWAN successfully. I have tried a number of times to uninstall and reinstall the drivers from links on this site and also even tried the Sony EU support site Windows 7 drivers with no luck. I have tried asking windows to search for the best driver with no luck. Globetrotter Connect has installed correctly, as far as I can see, but just doesn't pick up the WWAN card.
i have recently purchased a vostro 5460 which comes with windows 8 and not windows 8 pro which appears to be a requirement if i wish to downgrade, as tabled here: [URL] .....
but if i do wish to downgrade, do i have any other options?
I am constantly losing wifi connectivity with this new laptop or having slowed down connectivity with 2 out of 5 bars even from 20 feet away; the pages i try to load constantly jump to loading pages previously loaded, etc. I have an inspiron desktop at home with windows 7 i have used for the past three years which have given me no such problems, so i am finding all this interruptions extremely frustrating.
Does restoring a Windows 7 laptop to factory settings (i.e., not a clean install) require anything extra besides re-installing programs, such as updating drivers, Windows updates, etc?
I uninstalled the drivers for my 5530 card, but will like to install them again. The drivers are not on my dell dvd that shpiied with my computer, but found this file on dell's site: DELL_WIRELESS-5530-HSPA-MINI_A02_R197332.
When I install that file, the instalation process aborts.. - i tried restart, disable my card (it's liste in device manger with missing drivers), and ran CClean once - no luck.
I've installed a Dell 5530 WWAN card in my XPS 1330, installed the Drivers in R198215.EXE and installed the mini 9 version of control point R198215.EXE
placed my t-mobile sim in the sim holder behind the battery, and surprise surprise complete success, it connects to 3G no problems!
But - when i go to enable the GPS chip - i get a weird error -
It says " if LTO: LTO data is missing, Connect to internet to download LTO data"
I am new in Windows 8 and i wanted to install either fedora or Ubuntu 12.10 in WIndows 8 64 bit. However, under Advanced options in the General settings, i don't see the UEFI settings tile which shows the UEFI firmware settings so that i can disable secure boot. What should I do, or which other way should I do so as I can be able to dual boot?
I have downloaded and installed the correct drivers and also the wireless manager from Sony Ericsson. The problem I am having is with Vodafone. Both my Vodafone SIM cards work perfectly well with my unlocked Vodafone branded USB dongle.
However, these sim cards do not work with the Dell card. When I try my Orange Sim card from my mobile phone it works perfectly. So I know the Dell card works and therefore suspect that I only need to change the settings.
However, I don't have a clue what settings to change-that's where I hope you guys can help! Thanks in advance.
I have Dell Inspiron 5447 i3 with AMD Radeon R7 M265 with Windows 8.1 and have recently updated all needed windows updates.
I know how to add applications in the switchable settings as high-performace with *.exe extension but when I installed applications from the apps store (i.e. Asphalt 8 - Airborne, etc.) I cannot seem to add them to the switchable graphis settings to get the AMD GPU used. I know that the AMD GPU not getting used because I used a monitoring tool (openhardwaremonitor) that says it was not used. I can add applications like some other games I installed but not from the windows apps store so now I am really confused.
How can I get the AMD graphics to work with some apps in the apps store (specifically in my case, Asphalt)
I need to download drivers for the dell Wireless 5530 Mobile Broadband Built-in Mini-Card.
I have searched various dell sites with no joy! I can find drivers for the 5520 no problem but they won't work. I've had no joy with the vista driver update feature either.
