Jan 11, 2009It is probably a little to early to ask, but does anyone know if the Backlit Keyboard and Trackpad from the Studio XPS can swap into the regular XPS M series?
Even if the backlighting didn't work, my main gripe is the silver keyboard, which is difficult to read under airplane lighting. Black keyboard with white fonts are much better.
Dell Inspiron 5423 :: Fan Noise Even Under Very Regular Operations On UltraBook
Dec 27, 2012I just bought an Inspiron 5423 laptop which is an Ultrabook. I love everything about this laptop except that a grinding noise comes from the fan even under very regular operations. It comes and go every 10 minutes and last for 30 seconds. Even my wife can hear it from the other side of the room. I'm not sure if something is wrong with this brand new laptop or it is the regular noise for all the Ultrabooks of such brand. It's really annoying and I'm thinking to return it.

Sep 30, 2014My G505s A10-5750m processor is underclocking and locked at 2.05ghz. I tried changing settings in Lenovo Energy Management, Catylist Control is up to date, Bios is at 3.0, Amd Overdrive doesn't change anything beside GPU for me, whenever I try to adjust processor settings, it just goes back to what it was before. Temps are are 57C, but show 100 in HW monitor which it says for everyone.

1. The Fan, the fan seems to run on full throttle all of the time. i used to have d800 and it will never did that. Its not like it does it when its hot or needs power, but the fan runs at full speed all of the time? is this ok?
2. Battery life - may be due to the fan, but my regular cell battery only lasts about an hour or an hour or 15 max? is this normal .....

How much smaller is the text on the true HD screen? I will be using the laptop for charts so more pixels means more screen real estate means more charts. But if the text is difficult to read, then it is counterproductive.
Seeing the gridlines on the charts is also important so if I need a magnifying glass to see what's going on, then the TRUE HD screen is not worth it

Feb 22, 2008I just got my new laptop and the invoice says that it's a T7600. When I look into the system properties it show a 2.33 Ghz T7600.
But when I go into my BIOS, it has an adjustment to overclock my processor. I overclocked it to 2.83 Ghz and according to my I8KFangui and my system properties it is showing it running @ 2.83 Ghz.
So does this mean that I actually have the T7600G, or does it mean that I have the T7600 an I am going to screw it up by overclocking it!

the 8X slot load super Multi (DL DVD+/-R Drive + RAM Support) and
the CD/DVD writer (DVD+/-RW) + Roxio Creator 10
what is the difference between the two? I was able to select the default which was the 8x slot load super multi. I want to both read AND write CD AND DVD and is it also possible to re-write to a DVD RW with the default 8x slot load super multi drive?
I just got confused with the +/-RW, when you mouse-over the 8x slot load super multi it says that it is a DVD +/-RW but in the tick-box selection it is only DVD+/-R
