i got an error saying ' Display driver has stoppedd working and has recovered ' anyone know of any solutions to this ? there alot of post about it on other forums but they dont say anything, though maybe someone here might know, i know it has something to do with the new driver i installed im on 8700m GT SLI btw. So should i just roll back to the previous driver?
I have an issue with DVI and my Sharp 37inch LCD. I cant get the 1730 to display the desktop to ONLY my Sharp TV. I've reloaded drivers and messed with ever setting known...even called Dell who wanted me to doa system resore!? I got the pc last week..
I've purchased a HP Pavilion 15-n011tu Notebook. I'm unable to install display driver for WIndows 8 (64bit). I've tried all 3 drivers given on HP site.
I am running Win 8.1 x64 (up-to-date) on HP Pavilion 1322TX laptop. There are Intel HD Graphics 3000 and ATM Radeon HD 7450M two graphic cards as the device manager window. Recently I am getting blue screens and later message appear saying the ATM driver stopped working. I found many problems with this driver in the past as well. When I check the relevent page for my laptop model, there is no update since 2012..
Can I update these two drivers seperately by getting updates from Intel and AMD sites?
Is there any update for catalyst control system (CCC) ?
When I try to update through the CCC or HP Support Assist, it is always no updates..
I have a pavilion dv6 6190se and I cant find an update of display driver in HP support and when i download the update from AMD site it doesn't work. the latest update on this site is v8.882 and i doesn't support win8 and it goes back to 2011-11-18. is there any way to update it?

Are you guys using the display driver from the Sony esupport website or the ATI software support website??
I just wanted to know which driver was better or if they are both the same thing? Also is the display driver from ATI more update then the Sony esupport?
M6400, Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit RTM, FX3700M, E2E RGB LED
Everything appears to be working fine in my win 7 installation with the exception of the video. If I install any video driver then the LCD display dim's down to <50% of its normal brightness compared to just vanilla VGA drivers. External monitor works fine.
I initially went with the official NVIDIA 186.03 driver, and this exhibited the dimming effect. I have since tried all manner of other video driver versions including laptop2go, etc and none of them work. Even had my first win7 BSOD when I installed Dell's latest Vista x64 driver .....
my laptop is dv2500 and for e past 2 days, my display driver has been giving me a lot of problems.
at times, the screen would just go fuzzy and i won't be able to see anything so i have to power off my computer. at times, the screen goes totally blank and the computer restarts itself. when it does restart the screen stays blank and i have to shut down using alt+f4. at times i'll just get a BSOD for nvlddmkm error. and at times, the screen will go black and then return with the message "the display driver stopped responding and has recovered". the screen was fuzzy but i still did manage to make out that message.
i rolled back my driver to the default drivers that came with this laptop and after that, e screen has only gone blank once only to come back again totally alright 3 secs later with the same "display driver recovered" message.
this only started happening like 2-3 days ago but today it happened like atleast 5-6 times within 6 hrs. so i was wondering what's really the problem? i have searched around for people having this problem but their problem isn't as unique as mine. for them, it usually happens while playing games. for me it happens anytime, like during normal usage or whatever.
my dv6-2044ca (amd turion ii mobile dual core, 4gb ram, mobility radeon hd 4200), whenever i try to connect to a network and it fails, i have this thing sticking on my desktop wherever i go until i shut down the computer...
second question,
HP's display drivers (ati) are 8.635xxxxx and it's what i currently have. however, at ATI's website, they have the 8.65 version..
what is recommended?
should i take the HP's drivers, but less updated? or should i take the gfx maker's updated drivers, but not from HP?
my friend has the 8.65 and it has "-ATI" at the end whereas i have the 8.635 and it has "-HP" at the end.
I keep getting this error whenever i play Team Fortress 2 or WoW, in WoW my screen flashes black for about 2 seconds then comes back on, it really doesn't effect my game play but it's different for tf2. I play in windowed mode and when i get the message 'display driver stopped working' the game flashes black for about 10 or more seconds. I'm not sure what to do, here are my computer specs
HP Pavilion dv6700 Notebook intel core 2 duo cpu 1.83 ghz 3 gb ram
I have an e6500 with an Nvidia graphics card. I'm running Win7 with all current drivers, including the latest graphics card driver.
Today, while doing nothing particularly graphics-intensive--I was just surfing the Web, writing documents--the display repeatedly flashed to black, then went back to normal...........................
So I got my M1530 replaced with a SXPS 1640 with a 3670 video card and I have been getting this error message frequently. The laptop freezes then a few seconds later comes back online with this error message! How do I fix this?
I bought this laptop yesterday and formatted a Fedora x86-64 & Windows XP x64.
I could not find any drivers for the video card for Windows XP x64 or any version of linux. In fact, I couldn't find any drivers at all, not even x86.
All I know about the video card is there's a sticker that says "Up to 1279MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT HyperMemory".
I tried the HD 2400 series driver for xp x64 from ATI.com but when I try to install it, it says: "Setup was unable to find compnents that can be installed on your current hardware or software configuration. Please make sure you have the required hardware or software."
I have a weird behavior of my brand new HP HDX18 (running Windows Vista 64 bit).
The Laptop does not play BluRay DVDs any more. It only worked two times. I can access the BluRay file system so I assume that the BluRay drive is working. Then trying to watch the movie with either HP MediaSmart or Windows Media Center, both programs hang and need to be stopped via Task Manager.
HP support recommended a video driver update - but...
When I try to install the recommended update of the display driver from the HP HDX18 support site, it installs and the laptop remains working (I hear sounds when receiving new emails or when wiping my finger on the finger print sensor), but the result is simply a black screen. Same thing when using the nvidia beta drivers for notebook chips.
I tried to first switch to Standard VGA, then removing the old nvidia package, then installing the new driver. Same result: A black screen.
All I can do is doing a system recovery to get a working display again.
I did the BIOS update that I downloaded from the HP site as well. I currently have the Spyder software for screen calibration running.
HP support also recommended a "hard reset" of my windows installation, but since I just finished the complete installation of all programs I need, this is not what I really want.
Since I bought the HP Envy 15, I have been having problems with the AMD display driver. I first switched to fixed graphics in the bios. When I'm using the AMD GPU, I get random crashes while playing some games (Only tested Minecraft which runs on Java). I have the latest 64Bit version of java, so that is not the cause of this problem. The crashes appear at random times with no error except the "AMD Display Driver crashed and successfully recovered" bubble popping up at the bottom right. When the Driver crashes, I have to restart all programs that use the GPU since they don't function properly unless I restart them. I previously discussed this problem with the HP Instant Support (Chat ID: 39947114) and I was told that the R & D of HP will be notified to release a Driver update soon. I do not know if the R & D were actually notified or if the driver is going to get an update.

I am experiencing a system freeze at windows welcome screen or on desktop at random moments for more than 6 months, and it is because of the intel hd graphics, so at the moment I don't have the driver installed.
I have wiped out Vista from this machine and installed XP Professional. All have been installed fine except Wireless and Display drivers. I got wireless driver from gateway and it worked great.
I have done every thing as outlined in different threads on this forum and all other resources including acer north america and europe sites to install display driver but i still keep on getting the "set up did not find a driver compatible with your hardware or operating system" error.
The display driver specified on the sticker is 896 MB ATI Radeon Xpress 1250 Hyper Memory.
I am able to install the "SMBUS v.5.10.1000.6" from acer europe site without any problem.
I have upgraded the BIOS also to v1.18 from v1.17.
All the rest of the drivers i am able to install from the Vista Application and Driver back up DVD including the webcam that i created before taking out vista.
This machine is AMD Athelon 64X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-57.
Recently I have been receiving a ridiculous amount of BSOD's. Today alone I have received at least 15 of them and they all display the same message "There was a display driver timeout".
It always happens randomly and I can never repeat the exact situation. It just BSOD when it wants.
The error code which appears is: atikmdag 0x00000116 (0x86eb9510, 0x8f228c14, 0x00000000, 0x00000002)
About a month ago my screen cracked and the warranty is up. I had a spare CRT laying around so I just plugged it into that and it worked just fine as a substitute. However, today I had to reformat for various reasons and I did so using a friend's similar model laptop by putting my hard drive in it. After I got windows up and running I put the hard drive back in my machine and took it home.
After trying it out with the external monitor I've come to the conclusion that the standard vga driver does not support multiple monitors and therefore not my external (since the laptop still believes that the LCD is plugged in and functional even without any of the LCD wires plugged into the motherboard).
As it is the external blinks on during POST like should when the VGA port is tested. I'm sure I could solve this problem by disabling the LCD monitor in BIOS but since I can't see anything that is not possible.
It seems the only solutions left to me are:
1. Buying a new LCD 2. Buying/finding a new laptop 3. Some crazy hardware magic to disable the default LCD and let the external display during POST so I can get to BIOS and/or Windows Safe Mode
I have a user with a 68855TU. Using Windows 7 64 bit.
When running dual screens and connecting to the Terminal server with Dual screen, dragging the mouse cursor to the top of the laptop screen the image on both screens will move a couple of inches.
Solutions tried so far:
-Tried lowering resolution of the screens on the client side. Issue still happened.
-Checked the driver driver. Going through Screen Resolution -> Advanced Settings, under one of the tabs there was a check box for "auto scroll function". Tried with and without this checkmark with no change. Left it off, the way I found it.
-In the RDP software, checked the "Use all my monitors for the remote session" (It was off, but all screens seemed to be getting used). Scrolling still happened. Turned this off. Only only monitor got the connection, and no scrolling.
-Also tried changing the display config down a step in the RDP connection. Given the laptop screen size and no scrolling happened with that setup.
-Tried using only laptop screen. No Scrolling.
-Tried using only the external screen. No scrolling.
-Used the Lenovo software to check for driver updates. None found.
-Downloaded the latest driver from Lenovo. Driver from April this year. Updated the computer. Reboot. Scrolling still happens.
-Tried to install the latest Intel drivers for the video chipset. Get the message that it has not yet been approved for use by manufacturer.
I have purchased HP p077tx model laptop,it comes with gt840m but when i am trying to install the drivers it shows the error message"no compatible hardware found" during installation.Furthermore when I checked the device manager it shows no gt840m in the display adpters list, the 3D video controller is showing no driver installed on the PCI 10 bus.
I dont have the aero effect on windows 7 64-bit. I needed the perfect driver that could recognize the hardware and work properly. But I'm not able to find the perfect driver
