my computer is not starting up. It decided to restart by itself last night after I wanted to preview a music file I was downloading.
When it truns to start, the windows blue screen appears. I try doind a start up repair but it says that it cannot fix the problem.
I try to use system restore and it says that there is no restore point.
I have been having problems with my BD player. When I play a bluray disc i get an error code = 0122 which says that my video card driver is not compatible for blu-ray disc playback or that i am running my computer on clone screen mode. I uwas able to play movies before but now i am having this issue.

View 15 Replies View RelatedThe problem started about a week ago the computer use to just freeze on me like i would be doing work on it and it would just freeze mouse would not move at all. i would have to hold the power button to turn it off.
Then it started freezing will its starting up windows. and finally it does not even turn on anymore. i talked to the comp tech in my school he told me. it might be the motherboard.
If it is the motherboard can i upgrade the cpu also to more powerful one i have the 1.8ghz ?
Things that i have eliminated :
Plugged it to another screen ( didnt work)
If it is the harddrive issue it would boot till it says harddrive error.
video card i will boot in safe mode. its not starting at all.
ram i unplugged the ram and pluged it back and still not booting.
When I press the power button, the led's around the power button will light up and stay on for a few seconds then shut off. The power led on the left side remains lit as does the BT light. If I leave it set for a while, the BT light begins to flash but thats all I get - no diag code or anything. I have already tried removing/disconnecting everything I can think of (HDD, DVD, wireless, modem, BT card, memory, video card even) just to see if I could make it give me a diag code (I know - thats getting desparate). The only one that made it give me a code instead of turning off was removing the memory completely - it gave me the "no memory" code obviously (mute light was solid, vol up and down were flashing steady). But if I put known good memory in it, it doesn't work and if I put its memory in a known good laptop I have no probs. So I went ahead and bought a new motherboard and that didn't fix it (oops). I had to reinstall win xp (media center) at my dell XPS m2010 - everything works fine but the keyboard and mouse stopped working after installing Wireless internal 350 device.
How could i get my laptop to work again? I mean keyboard and mouse. Everything starts up right just that the keyboard wont connect because of the bluettoth driver download.
I have a Dell XPS M2010 which i love....but recently my video card was somehow damaged and as i have warranty i called the technical support on 20th march(friday) nd they said they were gona send me a engineer on tuesday if not they were gona call me nd tell me....
but i did not receive anycall so i took a day off and waited but no1 came. so i called them later that day and they sed they don hav the part so i will have to wait a bit longer for the part and they will let me kno with updates...but i still haven't heard from dem yet nd its my final weeks in uni nd i really need my laptop...they sent me an email sayin that the parts shud arrive by "mid-February" i don kno were febr came from.
I had a motherboard put in not long after I got it in 2007. Then the screen started going blue and saying it was dumping files. If anything is plugged into the USB ports it will not boot right and starts a constant beep. Lately it has been freezing up and the keyboard will not always work. Now when I try to turn it on nothing comes up on the screen while the bluetooth light comes on and the lights on the keyboard flash once. I have called tech numerous times and with it being out of warranty they want to charge $60 just for a phone diagnosis when it won't even do anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSeveral times I have had my M2010 screen freeze and then not come up at all on a reboot.The machine is under warranty and typically they send a tech out with a motherboard which does not fix the problem. Then the tech who pretty much knows its the video card has them send a new video card which does fix the problem and the machine works beautifully again.
However, several months later the card blows again and I have to do the whole process again which knocks out my computer usually when I need it most. Now I keep all my data externally with exceptions of it breaking down (not how I expected it to work).
My Inspiron 5421 won't start. I can hear the drive start and after a few seconds I get a 4-beep code (RAM read/write failure). The warranty expired about 6 months ago.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Dell Studio 1555 won't start anymore. When I want to turn it on, I get a beeping signal (2 beeps) and nothing happens. I tried all possible troubleshooting tips from the dell website (disconnecting all power and hold power button, reconnect to power, checked battery with the button on the battery, all fine, can't get into bios because computer doesn't start at all) but nothing works. Recently I also checked if the motherboard is connected properly and there is no issue either.
I also purchased a new dell adapter because my old one was a little bit damaged. The adapter is like the old one, and it's originally dell and the correct one for the studio 1555 so it can't be the adapter. Laptop also doesn't start when the battery is not in and it's only connected to the power.
I'm having this extremely annoying problem with my HP Pavilion dv6-model1334us. Everytime I try to start up my laptop it always shows the menu screen saying Launch Start Up Repair or Start Windows Normally. I've tried to do a system restore multiple times, but the screen just stops on a blue screen. No it isn't the Blue Screen of Death, but it does attempt to start but fails and stands on the screen until it automatically or manually shuts down.

Only the backlit keys seem to be working. The connection box between it and the electrical cord was very warm. I let it totally cool down and unplugged it but it still won't start.
View 3 Replies View Relatedrecently I was using my XPS 1530 under normal circumstances when out of nowhere it started to become unresponsive and internet explorer froze. I had to manually turn off the power and then restarted. The laptop installed some Windows updates and I figured all would be well.
Well, I was wrong. Ever since then my laptop is extremely slow and programs such as internet explorer refuse to start. The problem is worse when my wireless card is active. For some reason all my restore points are gone as well. I dont know if I picked up a virus or if my HDD is starting to die. Most frustrating is the fact that I can't run any diagnostics without the laptop freezing or becoming horribly slow.
So, my problem is I dont even know where to start on how to fix this. My last resort would be to re-format my HDD and see if that fixes it but I dont want to do anything that drastic yet. Any ideas would be helpful seeing as I dont feel like dealing with Dell support yet.

The bottom plastic was developing a series of cracks so I bought a new base on eBay.
I basically had to take the entire laptop apart (per the 8600 Service Manual, including video card and processor cooling fan, etc) and I put it back together with a new base...
Since I updated the BIOS to A15, I experienced a louder fan. So I turned off the computer and blew out the dust by blowing into the fins on the backside. Lots of dust came through the fan then.
When I turned the computer back on everything was very quiet... and also slow... 'til I realized the fan did not turn on at all!
The moment I recognized that I forced the computer off to avoid damage due to overheating.
Why would the fan not turn on after my little "basic" cleaning? Do you guys experience more fan noise since A15 too?
My studio XPS 1640 doesn't turn on. I can only see four touch buttons lit and everything else is off.
The only way to turn them off is by removing the battery and the moment I put it back they turn back on.
Using the AC adapter is the same, they remain on until I disconnect them. I attach a picture to show what I mean.
To start off, here is some background information. I've had the xps m1530 since June/July of last year and haven't had too many problems, except the one I am currently having.
The laptop was working fine this morning, but sometime around 2:00pm, it stopped working propely. The internet at my house is retarded and goes on the fritz every so often,
so I restarted the laptop in hopes that it would help (I didn't think it would, but I wanted to try something). Well, when it was coming back on, it suddenly stopped working.
It came to the screen where you type in your password, and when I entered it, it said "Welcome" for like 5 minutes. It just sat there on the login page with "Welcome" as if it were loading, and then after about 5 minutes it went to the desktop.
It sat here for 5 minutes or so and wouldn't allow me to do anything. I couldn't click any icons, or go to the program bar, or do ctrl-alt-delete or anything. It was frozen, but I could still move my mouse around.
i have done this several times before on diffrent computer, but this dell desktop is not doing what it suppose to do.
I put the Win xp pro in the cd rom and restarted the computer after I change the boot to boot from CD, and computer go to tart windows. i chnagedeverything and reset to defult and also diconnected the hard drive. nothing works. on F8 i also selected CD rom , and didn't work. this is a 3 years old computer that getting very slow and has too much junk on it from the kids and I want to format it. any ideas how i can go around this.

Right now I'm posting this from a friend's netbook, for the record.
So, this is something of an emergency. My Studio 1535, as the title says, is not starting. When I first plug in the power cord, the small white light turns on for just a second and then turns off again.
Normally it stays on while plugged in.
When I press the power button, the white ring of light around the button turns on like normal, and the media buttons flash in sequence, just like a normal boot.
Unfortunately, this is where it stops going as usual.
in the night I leave the computer charging. When I am slepping a explosion occurs near my home, the electricity gone. My pc batt is fully charge but now when i turn on the pc it power up but then a low sound comes from the computer and then it shut down

So then yesterday I was uninstalling some games that I haven't played in awhile. Defraged after that. Restarted my computer. And it happened again Windows Failed To Start. Put my windows cd in. Got into Windows. After everything was loaded, I decided to restart again. Never uninstalled anything or deleted anything this time. Restarted.
I have a 15" Vostro laptop, only 2 years old, that won't start. When I press the on button, the first (top) blue light to the left of the keyboard flashes quickly, but then nothing happens. Now there are three blue lights to the left of the power button that are blinking on and off.

When I put the new processor in and start the computer, the lights blink, sometimes the screen turns on (to black), but the BIOS never loads (or even starts). The computer then turns off, and the caps and scroll lock lights turn on, and the num lock light starts blinking.
Does anyone know what that blinking code means, and more importantly, why the computer isn't starting?
