I m using HP15- R014tx notebook. I am currently working on Windows 8.1 (64-bit).
I don't know but suddenly, somehow my brightness keys ( F2 & F3) have stopped working.
My g and h keys stopped working after a Windows 8.1 update occurred on my Inspiron 15R-5521. I didn't even want te update--but could not stop it.
I have tried updatin BIOS drivers, input drivers, and altering keyboard functions in control panel.
Ive had this Acer laptop E1-510p with window 8.1 and all of the sudden some of the keys accross the keyboard stop working. These keys are random and even when i plug in a generic keyboard it does the same thing ....

I recently purchased an HP 250 G2 laptop with no operating system (freedos) After Installing windows 7 home premium x64 I went to the HP support web page and downloaded all drivers, installed them and everything seems to work without problems.
The only problem is that the HP support page does not have any drivers for the keyboard and the outcome is that all the FN keys are non functional.
In device manager the keyboard is shown normally because windows 7 automatically installs drivers but these are not 100% compatible so that FN keys would be working.
it is very important to be able to use fn keys so that I can change brightness, sound level, and tun on/ off wifi.
I have a HP K2500 Wireless Keyboard which purchased arond 3 months ago and for some reasons now I can't use the keys y,h,n,m,j,u,5,6. i changed the batteries several times and I tried to test it other computer and laptops and it is still not working.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy laptop is HP Pavilion dv6-3055tx and has win 7 ultimate 64bit installed. From past few days, i noticed that three keys of my keyboard are not working whenever the wifi key is ON.
These keys are:
1-Delete
2-Left Arrow
3-Right arrow
When i turn off wifi key, it works normally. I don't know what the problem really is?
The numbers 1-4 on my Y580 keyboard don't work anymore. I only realized this recently as I had been using a separate USB keyboard for some time. I've tried all sorts of things - uninstalling and uninstalling the keyboard drivers in Device Manager, reinstalling the BIOS, unchecking all the boxes under the accessbility options, scanned the computer for malware...but nothing seems to work.
I've also installed Windows 8.1 and replaced my HDD with an SSD...

View 4 Replies View RelatedEver since I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro on my HP Pavilion (dv7-1223ca) , several keys on my keyboard haven't been working properly. I've upgraded and downgraded my computer many times, and this hasn't happened before. When I press the G, H, backspace, or apostrophe keys, they won't work unless I press one of them around thirty or forty times. Once I get one of them working, they all start to work properly for about five minutes, and then it goes back to being broken.
This is a major hassle as I use my laptop for work. I've tried reinstalling the keyboard drivers, but this hasn't worked
Also, two of the keys on my keyboard (alt and delete) came off completely and won't go back on. Is there any chance HP would be able to replace these?
I am using an external bluetooth keyboard now and those keys work using it. I have also replaced the keyboard on the laptop but the Keys WAZS still do not work ....

I repeated the process a couple of times to make sure I didn't make any mistake, but still those keys don't work.
Is there a place I can just download Windows drivers (Vista x64) for the Apple Wired Keyboard. Just picked one up for my notebook. I don't need the missing keys, just would like the function keys to work (Dim-/+, Task Switching, Media, Volume and Eject).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having a problem with my keyboard on my dell studio 1737. When you press certain keys on the keyboard the adjacent keys are activated as well as the key itself. I've tried various techniques I've read about to correct the problem such as removing power from the laptop for an extended period of time and installing new bios drivers but nothing seems to work. From the information I can gather this is a common problem with this model of Dell laptop. What is the best way to correct this problem. Will replacing the keyboard correct this problem or is there some other problem causing the malfunction?

i upgraded my hard drive and installed windows 7 this weekend. Everything is working fine except for my fn keys will not work.
I have looked high and low through the forums to try to find a fix. I have been installing Sony drivers for the past 3 hours, rebooting between each installation, and it still isn't working perfectly.
I've gotten to a point where the Volume keys work, and when I push Fn+F5 to lower the brightness, the little brightness meter pops up and the sound is made. But, the brightness won't go any lower than maximum.
The screen is really bright and it's killing my eyes, and draining my battery crazy fast!
I have here a TX2HP and try Windows 7 Beta1.
All fine with the driver but the problem are the FN Button and Volume Buttons.
I disable the UAC
I try the driver for Vista in the right order ..
I just could not get multimedia keys and volume keys to work (the ones above the F keys, next to the power button)
I have just upgraded my VGN-CS11S/Q to Windows 7 - 64 Bit. I have updated the FEPD driver via windows update, and installed the utilities in following order:
Sony Shared Library

Vaio Event Service

Setting Utility Series

but no luck. Than, I have reformatted the system (actually, I have restored the image file, but is was a clean installation without any utils / drivers anyway) and installed the utilities in another order as follows:

still no luck. FN keys does work, and little OSD screen comes up as well when I use FN + volume up - volume down keys. But multimedia keys and volume keys (which is the one with lights) insisting on not working.

Why these keys are not working? All updates are applied (Lenovo and Windows)...
I just recently picked up an Aspire V 17 Nitro and imediately installed Windows 7 on it. Everything is working pretty well so far but I noticed the function keys are not working. The ones where you hold down the "Fn" key and then do thing like adjust the volume.

When I could no longer adjust my brightness is when I noticed that my function keys were not working. Is there any other way to adjust the brightness on my laptop besides the function keys? If so I have not figured it out.
