Oct 5, 2014There are function keys on my 2000-20a20NR notebook PC for brightness, but no buttons for contrast. How do I adjust the contrast? (Running Windows 7.)

HP Display :: HDMI - No Audio Output In Windows 8.1 On Notebook 2000
Sep 12, 2014I have a HP Notebook 2000, with Windows 8.1. At some point, the hdmi output to monitor stopped sending an audio signal. The video signal is fine.
It is labeled in Device Manager: 1-STD HDMI TV (AMD High Definition Audio)
The monitor and hdmi cable work fine with other computers. I have disabled/enabled the HDMI device, and also updated drivers (Windows says my drivers are up to date).

Jul 30, 2014Whenever I am charging my laptop and using it, the screen lights up to the highest brightness (I keep it pretty low most of the time). This often leads to my mouse freezing, and then I have to shut off my laptop completely. I'm using a HP 2000 Notebook PC, with Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Nov 18, 2013my laptop fan was good till today morning and i shut it down at noon and everything was ok. But when it turned it on in the evening it display error message-------the system fan is not working and count down of 15 seconds untill laptop gets auto shutdown. After that i noticed that my fan is not spinning. As troubleshooting, i updated my bios, do a system restore, uninstall paragon hard disk suite which i installed in the morning thinking that it might be causing the problem. But of no use. Still the fan is not working.

My touchpad just randomly stopped working when I opened my laptop this morning. I'm using an external mouse right now but need to have access to the touchpad. I have already attempted the following:
Rebooting 5 times
Trying function keys
Toggling on/off: there is not light above the touch pad, and double tapping does not facilitate any change in the light or function of the touchpad
Reinstalling touchpad driver twice
Searching mouse properties: does not list touchpad as mouse device.

Factory restore and a chipset driver worked and it started working. my bad, i installed a graphics driver, that took me back to sqaure one. HDMI port on the laptop is not working. HDMI cable and TV HDMI port is all working.i ran HP support assistant and it shows all required updates are in place. though it worked in between, it should be an issue with the chipset driver.

Feb 5, 2013I've had this problem a few times but at random it seems to fix itself. I'm an new IT tech and i'm truly stumpted by this.
Computer: hp folio 13 - 2000 notebook pc: all drivers and software fully updated and 100% virus free. I use the computer mostly on a closed network.
Issue: The sound has random long periods of time where the sound is either on or off. Checked and reinstalled drivers, restarted, went through all the windows audio settings and still cant seem to pin point the issue. I'm considering just replacing the build in speakers and wiring if I dont find a solution soon.

Dec 20, 2009How are these working with your Studio XPS 13/16 notebooks?
My wife has a 13 and I have a 16, and we're needing to pick up a couple coolers for game sessions.
To be blunt, I find myself doubting that they could provide a truly outstanding performance on the XPS due to the vent placement on the cooler in relation to the intakes on the XPS.
In fact, when I look at a top-down view of the coolers and the bottom of our laptops, the vents really only get about 10% coverage.
Does anyone have any other coolers they are running that better then the zalmans? If they're the best then I'll grab a 1000 for the wifey and a 2000 for myself.

Dec 17, 2014Have used my HP 2000 laptop many times to connect to a big screen TV using the VGA output jack and hook it to the VGA input of my big screen. Now, for some reason, there is no video output to the big screen, I have tried 3 different cords (VGA to VGA) and get nothing on two, and on the third I get a video transfer but it blinks off and on both on the monitor of the laptop and my big screen with only about 1/2 of a picture showing on both. When it did this, I tried repositioning the output jack on the computer output and it changed the picture somewhat, but could never get it to work.
