Just set up HP Pavilion dv8t-1000 CTO and the treble/bass indicator keeps popping up with no set position - bar keeping increasing/decreasing.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have had my Pavilion dv8 for a few months now. A month or two after I received it, I began experiencing problems with the slider treble/bass control. It would sporadically pop up and start changing the treble or bass at random intervals. It also randomly disconnected me from my wireless connection. I thought this might just have something to do with the slider being dirty, but after several attempts of cleaning it, it still remains a problem. At first it was just a little annoying, fixed by clicking the mouse or pressing the top internet button, but now it's REALLY annoying, even popping up as I write this post. Is "slider thing" the right term?
View 9 Replies View Relatedi just bought hp dv8t quad laptop recently. the first time i turned on, treble bar (blue horizontal bar to adust treble that is supposed to appear only when i touch that touch tone above keyboard) came up on middle of screen intermittently. everytime i run other application, this bar would come up and stops other application. i spent over 1 hr with hp tech to fix it. now everytime i turn on, this blue bar still comes up but after i adjust treble via tone control above keyboard, it disappears. tech says there is no hardware defect, but i am wondering if others are like this.

if i enable this, which setting makes the bass appear louder? 3db or 12db?
it says that "This setting determines the levels for the lowest frequencies that this device can play." does that mean the 3db setting will allow greater bass?
if anyone has had the same problem as me with the HP HDX 16. Randomly, even as I am typing here, the volume bar (with treble, bass etc) will appear on screen and will increase/reduce very quickly as if im pushing down on the touch buttons, this stops me being able to type, sometimes crashing the computer.
At the same time, this fault also occurs for the wireless LAN button to the far right, which will randomly disable (turn red) as if i'd touched it, sometimes causing the desktop to crash but more importantly causing me to lose connection and have to reconnect on a frequent basis.
I've had the notebook for over 6 months, and while i did have this occur on very rare occasions, since a couple days ago it has increased to a point where it happens all the time, including after a restart. I have tried searching through google to see if the problem is known, and i have seen a similar account on a customer review website. I have used HP health check and followed the updates supplied including that for the touch smart buttons and a BIOS flash.
I just received an e6400 this last week. I had read about the fact that the speakers are only tweeters but the sound from this thing is awful.
We're replacing a Compaq V5000 due to needing a faster laptop and the Compaq's audio quality blows this away.
If I never planned on listening to music was on the laptop, I'd probably overlook this deficiency but I guess it's going back to Dell this week.
recently, i was playing a song and suddenly the bass started sounding weirdly/scratchy and loud. if i go to the control panel and lower the volume of internal subwoofer to 0, the sound disappears. try system restore, but it didn't work.
what do you recommend? trying out drivers for example?
fyi, i restored the laptop to factory default settings.

I recently bought an Acer Extensa 4620Z on Black Friday for real cheap! I really like this computer and wanted to put XP on it so I could like it even more. Turns out, the computer rejects anything but Vista . I know that some people were sort of able to get XP on this computer, but I have tried just about everything short of a network installation (not that that's much different from an actual CD). After a few days of it just sitting there with nothing on it, I got around to using the recovery DVDs/CD that I had to ORDER from Acer. They installed just about everything as it came when i first turned it on.
The reason for the purchase of the recovery discs was not only to get it back to the "original" (not quite) state, but to try to fix this annoying little wireless problem that has arisen since i first formatted it. What's happening is the card comes on when the computer is booted as well as when Windows is installing. There is a switch that turns on a light that lets you know when it's on and to see network activity. The problem here is that it has now REVERSED. When the computer used to boot, the light would come on and i'd have to turn the wireless off since it was slightly annoying, and the light would go out. NOW, when the computer boots, the light is out, but the wireless is on. And when i turn it "ON" the light comes on and the wireless is disabled! WTF is going on?
i bought a sony vaio AW laptop (the newest model, dont know the exact model, its an 18.4 inch etc..,
The bass is very weak, on the speakers and on the external output aswell.
I tried to play with the equalizer, but it didnt help, because probably the output on theese levels is so low, that it doesnt really help to play aorund with it..
I want to make it so one finger tap would be left click and two finger tap would be right click. Is this possible. If so, how would I go about doing this.

how the heck this could have been possible? not to mention that the quality is very very Low
and i don't see any way to change it!
maybe i can reinstall the drivers for hp webcam but i find no specific one for my model anywhere!
I tried a search and couldn't find the answer. Does anybody know why the size of the mini screen changed from 10.2 to 10.1, the resolution dropped slightly because of that too. I bought one in November with the 10.2 and they are sending a replacement with the 10.1, any reason to just keep the 10.2 and repair it.

Can increase anything on my laptop to play this game faster?
There is a A,B,G card in it now , I would like an A, G,N card as all my other computers have A,G,N cards .
What would be the best A,G,N card to get ? I have a linksys WRT 600-N and a WRT 300-N routers.
I cannot find a way to change it, I have tired autorun.inf tricks and even using winbubble to change the icon. But its wont change the little bugger.
Anyone know a way to change this, be it registry key changes, I dont really care what it takes, it just needs to go away.
I am talking about the pack that's in between the laptop plug and the sock plug. I'm sitting about a foot away from it and I can hear a little buzzing, plus it is hot to touch (I can touch it for a few seconds though).

if there was a way to turn off the touch-strip at the top of the 8510 - or, better yet, an individual "button". The problem is, when I move my laptop around, I sometimes brush one of the touch-sensitive buttons.
At times I've been wondering why my wireless wasn't working and, after trying various things, finally realised I'd accidentally hit the little blue antenna button on the touch-strip...
If I can turn the entire thing off, that would be great.. is there a service or something that monitors it which I can turn off?
